Comments about Billingham Hadley Pro Shoulder Bag (Black Canvas & Leather):

I purchased this bag because of my friends recommendation. I tried his bag before I bought it and it blows my mind. This bag is awesome for street photography. Its perfect for my Leica M and my other two Leica lenses. A bit small (thats good) but it suits me. Very recommended.

Comments about Billingham Hadley Pro Shoulder Bag (Black Canvas & Leather):

I bought this because my Hadley small didn't have enough room to carry a TLR camera along with my Digital SLR. In it I'm able to fit a Nikon D7100 with a lens, a second super wide angle lens and the TLR camera. Batteries, cards, filters and remotes fit in the expandable front pockets without issue and the zippered, rear pocket carries my ipad. Great water repellence and superb quality. Buy one of this once, you're good forever.

Incredibly comfortable and well made. Does not cut into one's shoulder, even when fully loaded with two camera bodies, 4 lenses, and multiple batteries, etc.
I don't know why I held off so long before settling for a Billingham!

      Nice bag

      By Daniel

      from New York

Comments about Billingham Hadley Pro Shoulder Bag (Black Canvas & Leather):

Very nice bag. Definitely the best I've owned for my M kit. Can fit two M bodies with lenses and a few other lenses. I was worried that the quick release tabs on the front would become loose and reduce the utility of the bag, but that doesn't seem to have happened yet. I'm definitely enjoying it.

Comments about Billingham Hadley Pro Shoulder Bag (Black Canvas & Leather):

I purchased this bag for use as I traveled around much of Italy. Slung around messenger-style, I had no problems at all getting to my gear quickly (APS-C format DSLR, 18-55mm, 50mm, 55-250mm lenses plus accessories). I was able to interchange lenses with ease while walking around at an average of 6-10 miles a day, in 80-90 degree weather. This bag is well worth the investment for your cera gear and is perfectly suited for street and travel photography.
Pros: Gear was readily accessible, discreet design, quality materials
Cons: Wish it came with a should strap, access to a small pocket without having to open main flap would be nice (to interchange filters, etc.)

Lots of flexibility for relatively compact size. Really high quality material means this bag is probably for life. I carry DSLR, 1 zoom, 1 prime, plus a compact camera...and a bunch of accessories. Only negative for me is that I should have had one years ago.

Comments about Billingham Hadley Pro Shoulder Bag (Black Canvas & Leather):

I could easily give this bag 5 stars because that is what it truly deserves. It is so very well made and is the perfect construction and size for my needs. I have it loaded with my Canon 50D with a 24mm-70mm L series lens attached, and then I have it flanked on both sides with my Canon 70mm- 300mm L series on one side and my Canon 10-22mm wide angle on the other. If I pushed the 10-22mm to the bottom of the bag I could easily load my flash on top. I dropped my review by one point for one reason only and that is that for a photo bag that costs almost bucks, Billingham should have the decency to provide a shoulder pad. Instead, they make you order it seperately and charge a whopping 50 dollars. A TOTAL RIP OFF ! Its only a little piece of leather with 2 snaps and some padding. A much needed item. So to sum it up, I will use this bag for years to come and highly recommend it to all who want a non flashy but highly usable bag.

Comments about Billingham Hadley Pro Shoulder Bag (Black Canvas & Leather):

So far so good, I am using this for a camera bag in Afghanistan at present. I bought it because it doesn't actually look like a typical camera bag, and for the sturdy canvas construction. So far so good! I like everything about it, especially the heavy padding inside that protects and lets you cram a lot inside. What I put in:Nikon D800 with MBNikon 85mm f1.8, Zeiss Distagon 85mm f1.2Nikon 24-120mm f4, Nikon D700 SpeedlightAnd assorted odds and sods like extra batteries. I still have room to stuff in my Macbook Pro 13". The only thing i didn't care for was having to buy the shoulder pad separately, it was a bit cheap not to include it. I didn't buy it for the style, and basically intend to bash it around until it looks like something no-one would want to steal. It will go on a three week rush trip of HK, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Tokyo, and I am confident it's the best bag I've owned.

Comments about Billingham Hadley Pro Shoulder Bag (Black Canvas & Leather):

Typically when I go on vacation I like to transport most of my equipment in a backpack. However, with a weight of around 10 kg all the stuff is too heavy for me to carry around all day long and the backpack is not convenient if I want to switch lenses etc.
Sometimes I also do professional work and like to bring some selected gear. In this case the backpack is definitely too large.

I was looking for a bag that would fit my camera with some additional lenses or strobes that I could easily carry along during sightseeing or on location while the remaining equipment would stay in the backpack at the hotel or at home. I didn't want to go for a typical (in most cases ugly) tourist camera bag since I don't like most of their obvious "form follows function" styles.

My initial candidates were the Billingham Hadley pro as well as the Crumpler 6 million dollar home. Both are available in a black version which is the color that I was looking for. Comparing both bags at the B&H store in NYC I was surprised about the relatively small sizes of both bags. Especially the Crumpler looked much smaller than I expected. In addition I was not very satisfied with the padding of their current versions. I looked through all different brands B&H had on display but the Hadley pro was the only bag that was relatively slim and still had a good padding inside.

I went for it and have to admit that it fits more equipment than I expected. My 80-200 2.8 lens fits perfectly inside when placed vertically without the camera attached. In addition I can store up to two smaller sized lenses on top of each other on the other side of the bag and my camera (5D II) with an attached 24-105 and lens hood in the center of the bag. The bag is relatively slim which is comfortable on the one hand. On the other hand it's a little bit too slim for a 5D with a quick release plate attached when the camera is placed in the center of the bag with the lens facing downwards. Since the bag is very flexible you can force it to fit the camera but I prefer to remove the plate when I don't take my tripod with me.

What I like about the bag:
                - the very elegant look and the nice feel of the canvas as well as the leather elements
                - the removable insert and its nice padding
                - the upper grip which is very convenient when handling the bag or as an alternative way to carry it around
                - it's weather proof
                - the ability to access my equipment fast and without any velcro or clicking noise

What I don't like about the bag:
                - the outer material (canvas) tends to attract dust particles which are especially visible on the black version (in fact, the bag on display at B&H looked like a mess but I think with a little care it's rather a minor issue); maybe Fibrenite is a better choice in this respect
                - the bottom of the bag doesn't exhibit any external protection like leather which can sometimes be found in other messenger type bags
                - in contrast to the soft canvas material the strap and the handle are quite coarse but on the other hand really sturdy; I would prefer leather for the handle
                - the strap in particular is relatively narrow and might get uncomfortable when worn without a winter jacket

Comments about Billingham Hadley Pro Shoulder Bag (Black Canvas & Leather):

I was very hesitant to purchase such an expensive camera messenger bag, but after watching DigitalRev TV (Kai M. Wong), I decided to take a leap of faith and boy has that faith been rewarded.

It's the best bag I've ever had, and I will NEVER purchase or use another camera bag that is not made by Billingham. I kid you not that this Hadley Pro is that good.

First, I'm going to have this bag forever ... it's that well built (solid fabric, leather trim, and fully weather sealed for protection of my precious Leica M9-P and lenses).

Second, it's brilliantly stylish. When I carry it around, nobody knows I'm carrying a camera. In fact, when I remove the insert, I use it as a messenger work bag and nobody is aware that it's also a camera bag.

Third, it holds a ton of stuff. I usually carry around my Leica M9-P with Summilux 50mm attached, and 35mm, chargers, air blower, SD cards, Novoflex MFT adapter for M-mount, Oly OM-D E-M5 with M.Zuiko 12mm, iPad, small notebook, etc. and I it all fits very neatly and nicely.

Fourth, ease of access is unprecedented. The quick release allows me to access the front pockets easily. I traveled to different countries in Asia for 2 weeks on business, and threw my passport, plane tickets, etc. and could easily access them in/out of security. I started to even put my belt and wallet in my Hadley Pro. When I need my Leica M9-P, I just pull both quick release tabs and there it is ... nice to have such quick and efficient access to EVERYTHING (simply brilliant).

Finally, extremely comfortable to carry around (one complaint is that you have to buy a $45 shoulder pad separately). It's a joy to carry around with the separate shoulder pad ... very well balanced and oh, did I mention stylish?

to summarize ... the Hadley Pro is well appointed, extremely efficient, and solid craftsmanship. If you've ever wanted a perfect camera bag, this is absolutely it. Like I said, I personally will NEVER use or purchase another bag that is not made by Billingham. Thanks Kai M. Wong!!!

I purchased this bag as a walk around bag, something i could store my DSLR, a few lenses and be on my way. Something that looks discrete enough so people wouldn't know i had expensive gear inside. I also wanted a bag that was well made and water resistant, being from the northwest means i'll be carrying this in rain and want to make sure my gear is protected.

Comments about Billingham Hadley Pro Shoulder Bag (Black Canvas & Leather):

I'm a photography enthusiast, and I really like going out for the day taking pictures of various things while I'm walking around. This bag allows me to carry everything I need, without feeling bulky at all.

The bag itself feels solidly constructed, with high-quality materials used throughout. No cheap brackets/buttons or badly sewn sections here. I was a bit worried about the front straps initially since they are going to see a lot of use, but after seeing and feeling the quality of the leather, I know this bag will last me a really long time.

The layout is fairly common to other photography bags, in that you have some customization on the interior what with Velcro separators and such. This allows you to adjust things to your liking - from camera, to lenses, to film.

There is also a slot for a laptop or tablet and I know that a 13" Macbook Air does fit in there, but it's a tight fit. Anything bigger and it will be more difficult to close the top flap, but at least you can compensate by adjusting the front leather straps somewhat.

My only bit of caution is that you have to buy the shoulder strap padding separately, which was a bit disappointing.

From the material to the workmanship this is a 5 star bag. Not quite at roomy as I'd like for my D700 and lenses its not Hadley's issue it all does not fit, they made a great photo bag and then its up to me to put what will fit in it. Pockets are roomy, inside is adjustable and very user friendly. No problem for your DSLR and 2-3 lenses as long as one isnt a 70-200 or similar size. Hadley makes wonderful bags.

when i first learn of this billingham hadley bag on digitalrev and is the bag of Kai, i immediately check this out on bhphoto..i find that its pricey for a camera bag but then again i know i wouldn't go wrong in purchasing this so i ordered it anyway..i got it on a good price at bhphoto..as expected the shipping is fast and im really happy that i'am now a proud owner of a billingham...its like they say 5 star hotel accomodation for my beloved rangefinder..very happy w/ these purchase indeed.

i simply love this bag because it's classy and protects your gear. i put in a 5DM3 with a 24-105mm and it fits snugly. i can add a 5xx flash and another lens on each side and two point and shoot cameras in one of the front pocket and my wallet and iPhone in the other and i'm all set. i'd definitely recommend this bag. it's worth the price.

Comments about Billingham Hadley Pro Shoulder Bag (Black Canvas & Leather):

The Hadley Pro bag is a well-constructed and a light camera bag. It easily accommodates three prime lenses and a 5D II, and it has two expanding front pouches that can hold more gear, such as a flash. I was looking for a mid-sized bag and found it in the Hadley Pro. An added bonus is that it looks more like a small courier bag, with its narrow profile, than it does a camera bag. It's the one I now take travelling.

So when I found out that Kai from DigitalRev uses a Billingham bag (Hadley Large) I looked it up & I was like how much do they sell for?$$$ But after debating on getting one or not I decieded to get it and try it out. I used it this weekend on a trip to Disneyland and I can fit my Canon 60D, 18-135mm, 50mm f/1.4, 28-55mm, cleaning cloth, extra memory card, lens filter, car keyes, my cell phone plus room for more. Everthing fits perfectly & doesnt feel or look like im carrying a Camera plus extras. It also rained during the day & it held up great. My wife loves that it looks great on me so that a plus too.

Comments about Billingham Hadley Pro Shoulder Bag (Black Canvas & Leather):

A very unique camera bag that I've purchase. The bag can fit 3-4 lenses. Big lenses can hold three and small lenses can fit six. I own a canon 60d with a 24-105mm, 10-22mm, 18-55mm, and a 50mm 1.4. The bag is meant for street photography, but I use it for videography for easy access. You can use the bag as school bag, messenger, purse, or satchel. I was introduced this bag from DigitalRevTV by Kai. A YouTube Sensation that review camera products and accessories. The bag is well made. The material is made in canvas and fiberNyte. It has a good feeling that it will last more than 5 years. The bag is pricy, but it worth it to get it and you won't disappointed. I would recommend to anyone only if you have the money. Lastly, I apologized for my English writting. If you have any questions, I will try my best to answer them. Thank you for reading and this review helps.
