What I like about this stool is that it has no castors - it stays where you put it; and it has 10" of vertical adjustability, compared to office task stools that usually have only about 5".

The first stool I received sagged about halfway down when an adult sat on it when fully elevated. I returned it and the second one only sags about an inch, which I think is about normal for air cushioned adjustable stools.

Some reviewers of this stool complain that it comes apart too easily. The stool I returned would not come apart at all - I had to ship it back fully assembled.

I like this stool fully elevated for portraits of children, because I don't need to get so low, and because it is too high for them to easily get down, so they stay put.

The build-quality of the stool is good. The stool itself is unphotogenic. If the stool will show in the photograph, a nice bar-stool is a better choice.

Comments about Impact PS Posing Stool (20-30"):

I looked at all the options and went with this stool because of the good reviews. Well they were right.

This stool is very well made. Sturdy and yet not too heavy as I will be using this in the studio and on location.

I won't use this a lot so the price was just right for my budget.

This is a no frills posing chair. The hydraulic post is very strong and the feet give a secure base. There is nothing fancy about this chair, but it sure seems capable of providing a variety of heights for set. Up.

Nice addition to my studio. I just bought a second one as having to variable stools can be handy for photographing more than one person.

Comments about Impact PS Posing Stool (20-30"):

We purchased 4 of the Impact Posing Stools in the past, almost one per year.
All 4 of them show the same problem, that is, the seat goes all the way up by itself.
You push it all the way down but it will go up again soon after.
I sent photos of these broken stools to the manufacture http://www.impactstudiolighting.com/.
Their answer was 'Your products may be defective', which means all 4 stools we purchased in the last 5 years or so are all defective?
This stool may work for a couple of months. You will get what you pay for.
          Don't recommend it.

          Solid stool

          By Jason

Comments about Impact PS Posing Stool (20-30"):

Solid product. Spins 360 for easy torso adjustments of subjects. Great for young kids who may not grasp some instruction as you just swivel the chair.

Not the most comfortable of chairs, but comfortable enough for short durations.

Minus 1 star for the extra padding they could have fit in there if they wanted.

I like the fact that it does not have a footrest since I use apple boxes for shorter people, YMMV.

              It raises and lowers smoothly.

The seat had a rather moldy smell to it so I had to leave it outside for a few days to air it out, but it is fine now.

I don't need a posing stool often, so I didn't want to spend a lot of money for one. This one filled the bill perfectly. The height adjusts over a 10-inch range, it's relatively light and easily moved around. That it doesn't have casters seemed counterintuitive ... until I realized that casters/wheels would be a mistake on a posing stool; duh! The stool seems plenty sturdy enough, goes together without a sweat, and, for me, it was perfectly priced. Once again, B&H came through!

This stool is a great tool in my studio, and the price was very reasonable. They thought of what we as photographers need, it is light weight, there are no wheels, so the stool stays where you place it, the height adjustment is easy, and it is a comfortable place to sit.

I found this stool to exceed my expectations. Not having casters, it stays put, and I don't have to worry about my client sliding away. The 10" height range is great to place the client at the height I want, far more flexible than a standard back-less office stool. It's very sturdy -- I recently had a plus size client (honestly 400 lbs) who had no issue sitting on the stool comfortably while I did some head shots. To ice the cake, B&H's price was better than that very long river in South America.
