Mine was delivered early March 2009 and the nut everyone talks about was correct, it fit perfectly. My additional comments: The height adjustment is pneumatic and it is hard to move the table up and down. When you try hard, the center shaft separates from the base legs. The bottom of the center shaft does not screw into the base legs, it's just pushed tightly into a big hole, so it will pull out. You have to extend the shaft by holding the bottom part of the shaft. BUT, there is a large adjustment bolt at the bottom of the shaft and if you lossen it, the pneumatic backpressure can be made less. Also, I was expecting to be able to use it without the roller feet, with just legs flat on the floor. But this is not possible because when the center shaft is pushed into the base hole it extends down too far and the roller feet must be attached. Otherwise this product does exactly what it is designed for, help posing.

The table is nice and solid. A five-caster base with asingle pneumatic cylinder and a smooth table surface. Thecasters are made of plastic, but they roll decently and havelockdown tabs to immobilize the table. The pneumaticcylinder prevents the table from crashing down in the caseof a mishap, but its action is very sticky and requires alot of effort to raise and lower.

Expertise: Experienced

Problems Encountered: Construction for the most part was a breeze. The last step, however, required a bit of engineering ingenuity. The clampfor the pneumatic cylinder is a simple bolt and nutconstruction. The nut has to stay put in the clamp while thebolt turns. The problem is that the hole for the nut is toosmall. I returned my first copy of this table thinking thatthere was a manufacturing defect. After having received mysecond table, I realize that it is a design defect. I can'tbelieve Impact designs and mass produces a table withoutbothering to see if it can actually be assembled.Never fear, though, you can do what I did: Screw the nuthalfway down the length of the bolt and heat the nut with aflame torch. After about 30 seconds of heating, stick thebolt and nut into the hole in the clamp and press the nutinto the plastic. Press the nut as it melts into the plasticuntil the nut lies flush with the surface. Thread the boltthrough to ensure proper alignment before the plasticsolidifies.Once that's done, you have a nice table for a decent price.

Comments about Impact Posing Table - 28-48" (71-122 cm):

Packed well. Assembly was fairly easy. The only real problem was that the screws attaching the base unit were too long and caused unsightly bumps in the top of the table. I ended up buying washers to keep them from pushing through. Also, the small wood screws that help attach the base mounting plate were not the best size for that purpose and I think they were made out of aluminum and both broke before getting 1/2 way in. I was able to back one out with a pair of vice grips but the other had to be drilled before I could put a replacement screw in. I thought this was a little cheesy. But, now that it is assembled all is well.

Comments about Impact Posing Table - 28-48" (71-122 cm):

I bought this along with the posing stool as I have a need to do several hundred individual headshots for a college I work with. The stool is fine. It's solid and well built and should work for what I need. This table, however, is another story. Why the designers/engineers thought using a single point connection for the table top to the base was structurally sound is beyong me. Using both the small aluminum guide srews that bite into, well... nothing, really, and Lok-Tite on the main screw still won't hold the table steady. Equate it to balancing a dinner plate on a pool cue. There is no structural strength to the table. As long as you put the weight of your subject in the middle, you're fine. Lean to the edges and there's a problem. I also needed portability, which this doesn't offer. The stoll, again, is fine. Pull the base out of the legs and it fits in the back seat. With the table, you have to unscrew the base (4 screws) from the bottom of the table top and that gets tiresome. Not to mention, the more you mess with that one screw system holding the table to the base, the more chances it will eventually fail.

Not the best purchase I ever made.

Comments about Impact Posing Table - 28-48" (71-122 cm):

I bought this as a posing table, but it really is not very sturdy. I can use it to put my laptop on when I shoot tethered, but I don't think having someone lean on it is a very good idea. It just feels flimsy. It came with a stool that is sturdy enough, but had a moldy odor.

Comments about Impact Posing Table - 28-48" (71-122 cm):

I'm a grad portrait photographer so I use a posing table pretty much every day. The basic design of this table is good but the overall quality is poor.

The center column is attached to a metal plate, which then screws into the table top. The single bolt connector between column and plate comes loose very easily, requiring disassembly to tighten.

To tighten this I have to unscrew the plate from the tabletop; upon doing so the metal sockets for the screws stripped right out of the MDF leaving a nasty hole. (I was being gentle, really!) With some glue I may be able to re-attach but more likely I will need to make a new table top from more solid wood.

This item is as it is described, however, it is not a very sturdy table. It is held together with one bolt in the center and can be bent easily in any direction.
I photograph preschool aged children and there is no way this table will last more than a few sessions.

Build quality is acceptable, but for the money, it could be a bit sturdier. It should be fine, since I don't use a posing table all the time, but I would question the durability for every day use. Having said that - not sure if any of the others out there are built better.

Comments about Impact Posing Table - 28-48" (71-122 cm):

The table seems sufficient for what I need. But the black coating that was used for the top of the table seems to be glued on to the top of the table and wraps around the edge of the table and stops. If you are not careful it would be easy to snag the coating that has been glued and separate it from the board it is glued to. I will be wrapping the edges of the table with gaffers tape to keep this from happening.

A very good value for the price. My only wish would be for some tilt capability, but for what it cost, wouldn't really expect that.

Comments about Impact Posing Table - 28-48" (71-122 cm):

This is not more than a 2.5 star table. If you have the cash and in need of solid table that will last you years, look elsewhere! The wheel locks work (all but one) but your better off with out wheels anyways. Not a solid top, only one bolt with two tiny screws holding it on in the middle, so it has some stability issues. Other than that it seems ok, but will only see limited use for us, so not a big deal. Would only recommend it for light duty use.

What a great and inexpensive table! It raises up for use when standing and of course is perfect when used along with the stool. The casters have locks on them.

Comments about Impact Posing Table - 28-48" (71-122 cm):

Things that are great about it is the single pole is large and octagon so it cant turn when you raise or lower it. It has a heavy built top that seems to be very solid. I was very please with it and it was easy to assemble. I have found that Impact is a good brand for studio supplies.
