I found the product to be very useful and easy to setup. My need was to send a signal from my cable providers HD/DVR box to my under cabinet Radio/TV. I wasn't sure how I would get a wire all the way over to my kitchen without cutting up the wall or dragging a really long coax cable around my house. Either of those options sounded like to much work for a 9" LCD that I only use when cooking.

B&H's 5.8mhz link sounded like a great alternative. I was a bit hesitant after reading some reviews, but with B&H's 15 day money back guarantee I figured why not. I couldn't be happier! The signal travel from 35' feet away through my fire place, stair well that contains a tone of stuff underneath it, then a wall, then my refrigerator, then behind the cabinet door that hides the unit. No loss in quality in sound or picture. Best of all my wireless network, cordless phones, blackberry's, and microwave do not interfere at all.

My only recommendation is you strongly consider your needs. If you just need to send a signal to a TV in your kitchen or bathroom then is should be fine for temporary usage. Remember it is only RCA (composite red/white/yellow cable) technology. If you're thinking about setting up your 72" inch TV in the spare room for your man cave, you may want to consider spending a few hundred extra to buy top quality wireless equipment, or hiring a contractor to run the cable wires for you.

I bought this product to extend video to another room where it would have been difficult to run cable. The unit was complete and went together without a problem, however there was little information on troubleshooting. On initial power-up I had interference bars in the remote picture and crackling sounds in the audio similar to what other reviewers have said about the product. I eventually traced the problem to our 5.8 GHz wireless phone system. All channels of the video device were equally affected by interference from the phone base station. It made no difference whether the phone was idle or busy. Net result, we have to turn off the wireless phone system while watching video in that room. This makes the use inconvenient, as it is easy to forget to activate the phone after watching. The remote extender is a nice feature, though and the video remote is very good!

I use these for security cameras from DVR to television downstairs. I didn't know they transmitted in color, my old set was B&W, (different brand)and more expensive. I plan on buying another set of these soon. So far no complaints, the signal has been rock solid.

This unit works great. I am however young it with a clear line of site, so I can't complement how it works around corners or through walls. I will say I experience some cracking with the audio at one point in time, but all I did was change the channel on the four selectable channels and it solved the problem.

Comments about RF-Link AVS-5811 5.8GHz Wireless AV Sender with IR Remote Control:

I am a electronic systems integrator by trade. I was called in by a first time client to take a look at an apartment to see what I could do to distribute some video in the home. One area was in the library that was completely covered with oak bookcases. After researching tactics to bring wiring into this particular room, I came to the conclusion that without ruining the beautiful woodwork, it simply would not be possible to "retro-fit" any wiring.
Fortunately, the desired TV was just a 22 inch set, so I knew we could get away with the signal being standard definition. After the green light to proceed I went and did some research, as I had always hard-wired all my video. This led me to this product, which I decided for myself was probably the best choice for me considering the goal in mind. I also felt that it was very reasonably priced, so I bought one.
Upon returning to the home, I had blocked out half a day on my schedule to install, tune, tweak, etc. A half hour into the endeavor, everything was working perfectly, and required nothing more than turning on the power button. My client was very pleased, I was very pleased, and now I have a customer for life.
With my extra time on my schedule, I went back to my shop, and ordered another for my van. This is an awesome product, and as a pro, I would recommend it to anyone. Dave

Set up was easy.

Found out that the occassion turned out to be when there was more people in the room. This product has very limited use

I have an older version that did not match four channels of this newer version and I find this version better. I also find that the remote controls work better in this version. Although the picture is not HD, it is excellent for the smaller TVs in the kitchen and office.

Wanted to stream satellite radio from my livingroom receiver to an outside portable speaker (with built-in amp). Tried a similar 2.3GHz transmitter/receiver system last year, and returned it because I couldn't get a clear sound. This AVS-5811 product is excellent! The sound is crystal clear despite the signal having to go through multiple walls. It also has many channel selections in the event one is noisy, but I'm just using the default and it's fine. The remote control feature is also excellent. This allows me to switch satellite channels on my inside reciever. Haven't tried the video, but audio works great through it.

I bought this as an economical option for filling large banquet halls with sound. I have not tried it on it's original purpose, wireless TV. It's first gig was a MMA fight night. Oddly, it worked best with the antennas down and set to channel 1. I placed both units atop a QSC HPR12 on a stand, about 150 feet apart but lined up straight across from one another. When music was playing the hiss was not noticeable. While the announcer was calling the fight the hiss was present but it was only in the back set of speakers and they were set at about 2/3 volume of the front and I am pretty sure no one but me noticed. So, they are not great, but acceptable for that type of speaking gig but will work fine for music playback in a large hall and will keep me from having to run long wires and gaffers tape. Not bad.

I tried for hours, literally, to get this to perform correctly even in the same room (no walls or interference - just line of sight). I was using it for audio only so I have no input on the video part. I just got a constant backround hum no matter what I tried. I tried to get help from RF Link and had no response via email or phone. I would not recommend to anyone. I ended up running hardwires (which is what I was trying to avoid).
