I am a electronic systems integrator by trade. I was called in by a first time client to take a look at an apartment to see what I could do to distribute some video in the home. One area was in the library that was completely covered with oak bookcases. After researching tactics to bring wiring into this particular room, I came to the conclusion that without ruining the beautiful woodwork, it simply would not be possible to "retro-fit" any wiring.
Fortunately, the desired TV was just a 22 inch set, so I knew we could get away with the signal being standard definition. After the green light to proceed I went and did some research, as I had always hard-wired all my video. This led me to this product, which I decided for myself was probably the best choice for me considering the goal in mind. I also felt that it was very reasonably priced, so I bought one.
Upon returning to the home, I had blocked out half a day on my schedule to install, tune, tweak, etc. A half hour into the endeavor, everything was working perfectly, and required nothing more than turning on the power button. My client was very pleased, I was very pleased, and now I have a customer for life.
With my extra time on my schedule, I went back to my shop, and ordered another for my van. This is an awesome product, and as a pro, I would recommend it to anyone. Dave

I bought this product to extend video to another room where it would have been difficult to run cable. The unit was complete and went together without a problem, however there was little information on troubleshooting. On initial power-up I had interference bars in the remote picture and crackling sounds in the audio similar to what other reviewers have said about the product. I eventually traced the problem to our 5.8 GHz wireless phone system. All channels of the video device were equally affected by interference from the phone base station. It made no difference whether the phone was idle or busy. Net result, we have to turn off the wireless phone system while watching video in that room. This makes the use inconvenient, as it is easy to forget to activate the phone after watching. The remote extender is a nice feature, though and the video remote is very good!

I used it for my remote dj speaker. Just make sure the antennas are facing each other because the signal will be distorted if you don't.

Comments about RF-Link AVS-5811 5.8GHz Wireless AV Sender with IR Remote Control:

I'm extending my DirecTV NTSC output from my home theater to my exercise room, about 40 feet away. Previously I used converters to modulate the signal to RF, send through RG-6 cable, then restore to NTSC (composite video) using a VHS machine. This allows marginally acceptable video and an audio run to a receiver and external speakers.

Using the AVS-5811 wireless link produces a much clearer NTSC video and audio signal. Big quality boost, and very stable.

    Perfect wireless solution

    By Rick

    from Connecticut

Comments about RF-Link AVS-5811 5.8GHz Wireless AV Sender with IR Remote Control:

It took me about 10 minutes to set this up. The signal goes through a wall and a closet door.

If a direct HDMI picture is 10, this ranges from 8.5 to 9.

The fact that I didn't have to call the cable company and have wires all around, and holes drilled in my walls, make this a great solution.

The one thing I would take care with is they are light plastic pieces, so I would make sure they aren't dropped or have anything dropped on them.

Comments about RF-Link AVS-5811 5.8GHz Wireless AV Sender with IR Remote Control:

This item was purchased to send a DISH Network DVR signal to an old, small TV in our kitchen. An older unit suffered from bad interference from our relocated wireless modem and certain lights when they were on. Operating at 5.8GHz, this unit was easy to set up and the interference is gone. I did need to add a small converter as the TV only accepts a coax cable input. Highly recommended.

I had purchased a small LED television for our kitchen, but didn't want to run cable the short distance from our living room to the kitchen. Nor did I want the added expense of another monthly cable box fee.
The wireless AV Sender was ordered on the Wednesday before Christmas and arrived the next day on Thursday...Christmas Eve!
Super fast service from B&H, making customers look good since 1973...there's your new slogan, B&H!

Used to 1) fill the gap between outlet and TV 50 feet away and through 3 walls line of site and second set for audio only out from TV to surround sound speakers mounted 20 feet up in A-frame room. Both work flawlessly. Audio setup is awesome because I chrome cast from phone to TV and audio out from TV to this system to surround sound. I didn't test the more expensive systems and now am glad I didnt.

Comments about RF-Link AVS-5811 5.8GHz Wireless AV Sender with IR Remote Control:

I was skeptical of the reviews. Not sure if I should believe them. But, I could not be happier with this product. I'm a football coach and needed a wireless transmitter/receiver that would work outside (good weather)and be setup about 300' from each other. The video signal comes from a camcorder and the monitor is in the press box. It works great!!! I tested it in my house first 30' between units...works great. Used them over the weekend...two thumbs up. The nice thing is the units just need to be pointed at each other. They're not signal strength sensitive. Very easy to setup. Please keep in mind I'm using them with no wall interference. Straight line of sight. I would recommend this product.

Comments about RF-Link AVS-5811 5.8GHz Wireless AV Sender with IR Remote Control:

These were easy to set up, easy to use, and not a bad design. However, the reception was terrible, even at a relatively short distance of 20 feet (through a door/wall) I had to fiddle with the directional antennas to get a clear picture. Once the picture was clear, the signal still dropped out periodically, as well as making a loud static sounds that were distracting. I returned these as I feel they were a waste of money.

2 stars because when the pic was clear it looked good.

I used this to put a TV in my garage in front of an elliptical machine my family uses. I put the sending unit in my den that is above the garage. It took about ten minutes total to unpack and plug it up to my dish box and it was done. We get great picture on or garage tv and being able to use the remote in the garage to turn the dish box on and change channels is great.

We do not have a cable outlet in the kitchen so I am using the AVS-5811 to transmit what is on the TV in the family room to the TV on my kitchen counter. The units are only about 20 feet from one another. This configuration works flawlessly, even when the microwave is on.

Installation is a breeze. We use this pair to transmit the audio from the TV to a pair of speakers across the room from where the TV is, the results is excellent. This is the second sets we bought.
