I'm use this Lens with my camcorder for Family Hollydays&Nature.
This's very beatifull, becouse one big Lens take wide angle (this option need if you make record in the House). And macro Lens need if you make record so little object (bee or flowers).
One little problem-with wide angle you give "distorsions" on the frame. But this problem you have, if you make record big tower, house outdoor.

I bought this to use for capturing weddings and wanted a lens that I could use for both wide and tight shots.

If you do not zoom at all the additional wide angle is nice. However, you cannot zoom much more than about 30% and you will get too much distortion. I will spring for the more expensive Canon specific model. According to the reviews, I should have gotten it.

However, the Macro adapter works very well. You can place the camera up against an object and see every detail. eg... indentations of a penny.

Comments about Impact DVP-SWA38-37 Wide-Converter Lens:

I am a novice camcorder user, and never liked the limited range of view hat most camcorders give. Not until I visited B&H! I purchased the super wide Converter lens, and I just cannot believe the view I was getting now - TV like! It does also help to have a new HD camcorder too.

I got this lens to help with real estate interiors. The barrel distortion was so bad I had to send everything back. The IQ was poor as well. Even if I zoomed in there was still barrel distortion.

Comments about Impact DVP-SWA38-37 Wide-Converter Lens:

I'm using the Canon Vixia HF 21, shooting HD in small areas and the lens is working out great. There is minimal vignetting but I just zoom a little and it's taken care of. The auto-focus doesn't work well as I zoom in but I tend not do much zooming and I usually use manual focus. The lens is very sharp and the final video is much improved from the standard lens.

Comments about Impact DVP-SWA38-37 Wide-Converter Lens:

After screwing this wide angle converter on my Canon Vixia HF10 and shooting some test video, I noticed the the lens was visible in the video as it played back on my iMac computer. The upper and lower right side corners of the frame were blackened out.

Very convenient to use with Sony HDR-CX500V camcorder. Sometimes it appear black parts in four corners when you zoom in/out. But I think it would also be a valuable part for camcorder.
