I have been searching for a good sturdy tripod for outdoor use. As I came across this product, I was a bit skeptical because of it's amazingly low price for what the description said it had to offer. Don't let the price and looks fool you, this product is terrific!

Pros:
-Good sturdy feel
-Very expandable and versatile
-Comes with neoprene hand grips on the legs(not pictured)
-Clip locks for the leg sections makes me feel more comfortable when locking them over twist locks.
-Has a removable clip that is concealed inside the base so that it's flush with the base.
-Very portable! I'm so surprised at how light this tripod is, but even with all of the sections extended out, it doesn't move or feel like it'll jerk if you touched it!
-Very light and strong! It weighs as much as my old tripod but can support double the weight of my old tripod at 5-6 pounds!
-Looks amazing! Has an expensive professional look to it without the expensive professional price!

Cons:
-Not really a con, but the base on the head pictured on the website is different from the one I received, mine is a small disc about the size of a poker chip with and is rubberized. The one pictured looks to be a lot bigger and looks to be made of a different material rather than rubber.
-The feet on the tripod cannot pivot, they are just rubber cups place on the ends of the legs to prevent from slipping.
-My tripod came with a few scratches that are noticeable but won't affect the tripod's performance.
-When using the tripod with all the sections extended out, the legs tend to bend and wobble just a tiny bit, but not enough to be that noticeable.

Recently had been to Niagara Falls and figured that this tripod has a major design flaw. The "quick release" is circular in shape and so when I am shooting vertically then camera tends to rotate and the photos are blur. (have a downward drag).
Also it takes more time and effort to attach the camera to the tripod because it has a small screw that you need to tighten to attach the camera to the tripod. It is not as easy as a square quick release plate where you can just lock the clamp with a thumb.
The tripod itself is very good, very light weight, max height is 58" and has features that you will find the 100$ tripods, except for the quick release, which is very badly designed.

Comments about Impact 1018 3-Section Tripod with Ballhead:

I purchased this tripod for each of my employees to use on the job, out in the field, everyday. I first tested it (along with 8 others) to see which inexpensive lightweight unit would best fit our needs. The 1018 won, hands down, for stability, portability, convenience, and price. The only drawback is the quick release mount being weak. Everything else is awesome!

Comments about Impact 1018 3-Section Tripod with Ballhead:

The tripod is sturdy and fairly light, it sits great for my Nikon D60/90. Solid build and i would definitely recommend to my friends. The only minus is the ballhead, which you might want to invest on one with a quick release system, but it does its job. For the price, this is a great buy.

Comments about Impact 1018 3-Section Tripod with Ballhead:

I found the tripod to be nice but a little flimsy. The ballhead makes it easy to adjust your camera, but the mount under the camera feel like it will slip out of the slot taking you camera with it, actually it did one time! It does have some nice adjustment feature for the legs, similar to a high-end tripod. I think it works well as a simle everyday tripod and for a beginner. I have a bogen head and am ordering a manfrotto tripod for it!

I am using this tripod to take product photos for our website. I have a Canon Rebel camera and the tripod is my weak link right now. The attachment that goes on the camera and attaches to the tripod comes loose after awhile so I still need to steady the camera with my hands. Also, when tilting the camera on the side, the camera is too heavy for the stand so it does not stay perfectly perpendicular. I would definitely try a better tripod in the future.

Its really an awesome tripod for what you pay. It looks like it can pass for a 100$-150$ tripod. The detachable plate is great and so are the cushion grips. The tripod is really sturdy and can easily handle heavy cameras and lenses. It also has a screw in the center column so you could take really awesome frogs eye view pics with it. All in all a great buy. [...]

I bought this tripod to use with my Nikon D80. It holds up well with everything from my 50mm prime as well as my 55 - 200 mm VR lens. I am quite happy with the tripod as it is sturdy, well built and fairly light weight. It came with a hand case with a strap which makes it easy to carry.Overall, this is a great tripod if you are looking for a reasonably priced Tripod. Compared to the tripods you will find at your local electronics store [...] in the same price range, this tripod is a great deal.

I was sick of my cheap [...] tripod and wanted something better but not spend a fortune. This looked to be what I was wanting. All the controls are smooth and easy to use. The quick release mount was an unexpected surprise. VERY sturdy construction and is actually fairly lightweight for what I was expecting. Want a decent tripod that won't break the bank? Hit Add to Cart and you won't be disappointed.

Comments about Impact 1018 3-Section Tripod with Ballhead:

This is a nice tripod, especially for how much you pay. It is light, easy to carry, and do what a good tripod should do. I have it about a year and a half. Even though it is a good tripod, there is two things that really bother me so much. First, the one I receive, have some problem with one of the leg. it is much more loose than the other two. Which is kind of annoy because I need to adjust it almost every time I put it down. (But I am the only one who has this problem, so it is just bad luck for me, nothing to do with the design of the product) the Second problem I have is that the Disk under the camera became loose after half year of usage. I can even take it out. and that effect so much when you need to put your camera in portrait. The camera will just turn downward, This one have to do with the design of product, so I wouldn't let it goes. But it will do fine in landscape position though. After all, it is a great tripod, but I wouldn't recommend to serious professional who take photo as their job and first life because it do go a bit of mind sometime.

The only problem i have with this tripod is that once the camera is on, it's sort of difficult to adjust the camera to allow for shots at different angles. I wish there was a handle bar or something to allow me to turn the camera to any position i want. other than that, it serves its purpose well.
