Comments about Savage Translum Backdrop (Heavy Weight, 54" x 18'):

Purchased both Light and Heavy Weight for a light effect needed for a very small table top product shot. It did work... but as usual I had to figure out some bugs, i.e. how to rig it so it held in perfect shape not easily done.

Comments about Savage Translum Backdrop (Heavy Weight, 54" x 18'):

I am currently setting up an in-office studio for a laser treatment doctor and nurse. I chose this as a background thanks to Mark Wallace's recommendation on Adorama. This is just amazing material.

The product is easy to use and cut and hard to bend, which makes it perfect to use as a backdrop with lighting from behind or for curves.

I use the Translum in studio. I appreciate product versatility for portrait and products.

If you need a perfect white put the light behind Translum and you got it! You can even position a subject and lights behind it to achieve a gauzy silhouette.

Washable, durable, a must have for any studio.

I use this product in the studio to shoot glassware and crystal. It transmits tungsten light and color gels thru very nicely and soft. The heavier weight keeps it in place, as long as you clamp the roll at the top.

Heavy Duty translucent plastic sheet. Use it as a backdrop, build a light box or diffusion panel. Probably a hundred other uses. Well worth the money. As always B & H always comes through with fast delivery.

I've just had a chance to use it a couple of times, but I've found it surprisingly durable.
There's a 2 stop light loss, so I had to get used to using more power when I was 'shooting' light through it - but I love the look that soft light gives my subject when light that way.
Definitely plan on seeing what all can be done with the stuff!

I was unsure what to expect from the Translum Diffusion B'ground . When I ordered this item I was hoping to use it over a large window that allows light to flood the entire room. In the past the light has been too harsh and I've used wax paper to diffuse the strong light. Wax paper by the crate I should say ! Taping of the paper was a long, tedious process & it often tore . This diffusion B'ground is perfect and diffused the light from the extra large window beautifully. It is also extremely sturdy and will last , if treated properly , a long time. The pics turned out great and it didn't take but a few mins to add the diffusion roll to a b'drop stand and pull it down , secure bottom with sandbags and clips on top. This item is totally worth the price and then some !! It is really the perfect item and has so many other uses. I am super pleased with my purchase .

IF YOU ARE INTO STROBE AND FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY, THEN YOU HAVE TO HAVE IT. THIS IS NOT A PAPER, ITS A STRONG PLASTIC SORT OF MATERIAL. PERFECT TO DIFFUSE LIGHT.

I DID NOT FIND ANY THING THAT I DID NOT LIKE ABOUT THIS PARTICULAR PRODUCT. SIZE IS REALLY NICE ITS LIKE A BLANK CANVAS YOU CAN DO SO MUCH WITH IT.

I use Transom for both bouncing flash and as an affective diffuser for my mono's. The product is super durable and easy as pie to keep clean. If I could ask for anything additional, it would be that the product came in various widths and even colors would make it totally indispensable. As is, I would still highly recommend this product for serious shooters or even the casual photographer.

Great accessory to have for any product photographer or for a portrait photographer who needs a softer light this pairs well with a softbox for added diffusion. It is a plastic material so it will last a good while without having to replace it often.

I bought 2 rolls and with one of them I have been making diffusion panels. Its a lot cheaper to make the panels then buy new. I also use them for backgrounds.
