        Comments about Smith-Victor A12UL 12" Adapta-Light with UM6 (120V):

The light itself is OK but the bracket is just about worthless and putting an umbrella more than 36" will just cause it to bend over. The bracket cannot support any front loaded weight (like an umbrella), is extremely difficult to position, and likely to break.

The light itself is OK but here are a couple of things to keep in mind.
These lights get hot with a 500W bulb as expected. The bulbs also will not last more than 2-6 hours of use in most cases. They are also very fragile so be careful.
The light works (minus the light stand bracket which is really subpar) but it has so many little issues that you might want to think twice. I'm sure most people know that these lights burn hot and obviously glass bulbs are fragile, but I just want to make sure you realize this and think about this before you purchase. Unfortunately the light stand bracket makes this product just about useless for me.

          Comments about Smith-Victor A12UL 12" Adapta-Light with UM6 (120V):

I was plesantly surprised that the base that connects to the stand was made of hardware and not plastic. These are great little lights for product or macro photography. They will do the job.
