Comments about Olympus Evolt E-410 Digital Camera Kit with 14-42mm Zuiko Lens:

Had a bunch of point and shoots and felt it was time to grow up and get a real DSLR. I've been very satisfied with the results. I travel a lot and shoot whatever is around me. I can't say enough about how good this camera is for the money. I'm getting shots that have a huge wow factor- people are asking me for prints. They never did that with my point and shoot shots. I think a lot has to do with the camera. It is forgiving enough to allow you to just shoot pictures (Use P mode, not Auto), and has more than enough manual options to keep you busy and allow you to experiment and really understand what's going on. It is so light that you really don't mind carrying it around, even with a bigger lens on it. To get the features on a comparable camera from another name would require a lot more money and I didn't want to spend more than necessary to "learn" how to use a dslr. I've been more than satisfied. Oh, the slow shutter? Haven't had the same experience. but I did have to learn to put it in the correct mode for what I was doing. I shot a snowboard competition over the weekend and got some incredible shots. those guys don't stand still! This is a great camera and a great value if you are starting out or want a very light dslr that you will be comfortable carrying and shooting. The only knock I have is that when in Auto mode indoors the flash pops up and it sometimes has a hard time focusing, but it could be the inexperienced photographer!

Comments about Olympus Evolt E-410 Digital Camera Kit with 14-42mm Zuiko Lens:

Pictures taken are beautiful. Very user-friendly interface and buttons. Really light for a DSLR and it was really useful for my backpacking trips.

The only con is that I bought one of the camera bags from BH camera- E System Travel Bag(It was listed as one of the suggested items for this camera). The bag is really soft and not well cushioned/ padded, thus don't really offer good protection to the camera and lens i feel.

Comments about Olympus Evolt E-410 Digital Camera Kit with 14-42mm Zuiko Lens:

Absolutely the slowest camera I have ever used. Bought it to photograph my children. Shutter release lag is LONG. Got some great images of the heel of the child who was realy cute a second and a half ago. Truly great skin tones and metering. But if your subject might move, buy something else. [...]
