Truly, this is the Leica of camera bags.

Now I'm not rich enough to afford a Leica, but I was able to splurge on this bag and let me tell you- it's great. The workmanship is just superb. It smells like... England. And I've never even been to England. Real leather, top notch construction and materials, well thought out design... Using this thing is just a joy. Not to mention it's pretty good looking to boot! The only real downside I've come across is that opening it is a put-it-down-on-the-table-and-use-two-hands sort of operation, but it's in a rugged sort of way, not an ill-concieved or poorly designed sort of way.

It holds a heck of a lot of gear, too! Granted, I'm a Micro Four Thirds user, so my gear is smaller than most, but I can comfortably hold in this bag a GH1 body, Minolta SRT-201 body, a Zoom H4n and 4 mid sized lenses. It'll also hold my iPad, various batteries, chargers, film and still has room to boot! Granted, that's a pretty full bag and I'd be unlikely to take such a large assortment of gear out on any given day, but it's nice to know that if I ever have to trek into the jungle for a year, this bag will carry everything I need.

Again, I can't stress enough just how well built the thing is. It's so freaking sturdy. Though I'd hate to ruin its lovely exterior, I'm certain this bag would thrive in a down and dirty environment.

Alright, I'm just gushing now. If you're on the fence about it, buy this bag. One of the best purchases I've ever made in my life. Worth every penny.

This was my second Billingham Bag. I was looking for a bigger bag to hold my D7000 without removing the grip. While this did fit the fill, it has other issues. First this is a heavy bag for its size. Your shoulder is going to be feeling it after a while. Also the speed straps are not speedy at all. You have to route the straps through the metal ring then attach the strap to the locking button. The bag handle straps get in the way. Also if the front pockets are empty, it hard to quickly attach the strap to the locking button since the entire fronts dip in, not giving you enough a backing to hold it still.

If you want to keep going in and out of your bag quickly you have to have the external flap hanging in back of the bag. This means the the handle flaps are also hanging in the wind.

Comments about 225 Shoulder Bag (Khaki with Tan Leather Trim):

A lot has been said about the Billingham camera bags and this is not going to be an excepion or any different, why? Because of two things, they just work and they look fantastic while doing it; the interior is as customizable as you ned it, with all of the partitions that can be arranged in any way you want it, and if you feel like you still need it in a different way, you can order some more partitions to get it the way you want it; the 225 also has some loops on the bottom and those are there to be used to carry a tripod or monopod, you have to buy the straps separetly but they are of the same quality you've come to expect from Billingham; I use the bag to carry a Canon 60D with Canon Battery Grip BG-E9 a Canon 15-85 EF-S f/3.5-5.6 IS USM attached, a Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM and a Canon Speedlite 270EX II, everything fits perfectly with room to spare for more equipment, maybe even a couple more lenses,I read soem reviews where they say that you have to get used to the straps that keep the bag closed and yes, they are right, they do take some get used to but they will break in with the use, but let me take this opportunity to point out that this bag is not designed to be a "quick draw" type of bag, if that is what you are looking for, you will be better served by going with something else, this bag is for carrying your equipment in the most secure way while protecting it from the elements. I bought the bag as a secondary bag for when I don't want to "hump" any more than what's described, for quick trips knowing fully well that I am not going to need anything else. The quality of the bag is on par with that of a Louis Vuitton and this is just for comparison sake, I know that they are two different products but I am pointing that that due to the fact that some people will say that they cannot justify a $[$]price tag for a camera bag and thet's their opinion and it's a valid one but if you want a camera bag that is waterproof, without having to wrap it up in another plastic bag, you want a camera bag that looks the part and you must certainly don't want a bag that screams "there is an expensive camera inside this bag" to a would be thief, and you want a camera bag that pretty much says NO to the geek factor, or you just plainly lust after the best that money can buy? Trust me when I say, you will not be disappointed and you will get what you paid for.

Comments about 225 Shoulder Bag (Khaki with Tan Leather Trim):

This Billingham is a top of the class bag that comes with an obvious top of the class price. I wouldn't buy this for a $1000 camera system, I'd spend the money on accessories for the camera instead. However since I have well in excess of $10,000 invested in my camera system it only made sense to me to give that gear the best protection possible while transporting it.

Exceptionally well made, well padded, and the removable insert pockets are first class as well. I use it primarily to transport my current 1D series body with an attached 70-200mm lens. Has room for some additional smaller accessories as well. If you want to transport a large camera (or two) and multiple lenses you may want to consider a larger version of this bag.

Comments about 225 Shoulder Bag (Sage Green with Tan Leather Trim):

The quality and finish on this bag are second to none. I travel extensively and have used lots of high-quality luggage in my life. This bag is the prettiest and best made piece I ever used.

I bought it as a camera equipment bag. I wanted a bag large enough to fit a Canon 5D III and a couple large lenses easily but I did not want something big and bulky. So I settled on the Billingham 225. Some of the smaller Billinghams did not appear to have the width to accommodate the camera with even a small lens mounted on it. It turned out to be a good size. Packed full at the Daytona Rolex 24 Hours a couple weeks ago it carried everything I wanted and a bit more. The bag was a bit heavy but that was because of all the stuff in it. Next time out I will pack lighter and know the bag will handle the job without being too bulk and space to spare.

My only complaint is the top closure. This bag, unlike some of the other Billinghams, is not easy to open when being carried. If the top is fastened and the carrying handles joined you need to remove the bag from your shoulder to open it. I found a happy medium where I folded over the top flap but left it unfastened and let the handle straps flap in the wind. Then I could get into the bag without setting it down.

A perfect match for my equipment. I've made the investment for some great camera gear so why not in a great bag to carry it all. I'm extremely pleased with the quality and build. At least with this bag, people will think I know what I'm doing even if i don't.

The 225 is the best bag I've ever owned. It holds my Nikon D300, four lenses(one attached to the camera body), and a flash, as well as assorted accessories. The materials that the bag is constructed of are second to none, and the protection it gives your equipment is about the best there is.It's a little tougher to get in and out of compaired to some other bags because of all the leather straps, but that can also be seen as a plus, because this is a very secure camera bag. I really can't say enough good things about the Billingham 225 shoulder bag.

Great craftsmanship, well made bag. Great fit and comfortable on you shoulder. This bag is little small for DSLR, it's probably more for M43 systems. It would fit tablets like iPad but not a regular size laptop. For me it was little bit too small. I returned this bag and got me one size up 335.
I deducted one star for being too expensive.

I was really looking forward to getting this bag, but in the end I made teh decision to return it. It's quite a bulky bag - when you're wearing it it sticks out really far from the body and didn't feel very comfortable. Also the inside is really hard to customize as it only comes with one foam divider and one lens divider which was actually too small for my lenses. I would have needed to buy some extra foam dividers - something I don't feel should be required with a bag of this price. The construction and quality of materials did seem good, but I just didn't like the shape and found the space inside hard to work with.

Excellent, secure, understated travel/storage bag. Holds all my stuff, very nicely organized. It did feel heavy at first; I attached it to my wheeled bag, and it balanced nicely. Then I carried it cross-body and it wasn't bad. It *may* be too heavy for me to shoot from directly, but I don't want to carry this much stuff when I'm shooting anyway. Definitely a little boxy, but a solid bag overall.

This is a very well made case, not the cheap stuff that permeates the marketplace. Look at the dimensions when you buy, and pick the size that's right for you. This will hold my D700 with a normal zoom attached, as well as a flash and a couple of other lenses. Also room for my iPad and a number of odds and ends. I wanted this as a sole carry on for personal travel, and it suffices well. Also good as my camera / entertainment bag on extended business travel overseas. I highly recommend this Billingham bag.

Comments about 225 Shoulder Bag (Sage Green with Tan Leather Trim):

Nice design and great size that can pass as a "Hand bag" on a flight allowing for a second full size carry on.
All pockets are in the "right" place. I use this bag for my Hasselblad 501CM with an 80mm lens mounted, a spare 100mm lens and three film backs, one mounted on the body and two in the individual pockets which suspiciously appear to have been designed for the A12 Hasselblad backs. There's plenty of room left for additional rolls of film, a light meter, etc. The design allows for quick access with both hands while on the shoulder strap and it feels secure without risk of slippage.

I bought this bag after having bought a larger backpack for my gear, because I wanted something for those photo days when I just don't need quite as much stuff with me. And, nevertheless, it holds a lot... I have my Canon 7d, a couple lenses and a bunch of smaller miscellaneous stuff in it... which does make it quite heavy. The bag is very durable and I expect to have it for years.

Comments about 225 Shoulder Bag (Sage Green with Tan Leather Trim):
