I have been working with Bowens for the last 10 years; lately I was getting tired of the price since I travel a lot and sometimes my flashes get damaged. I did not know this label so I really took a risk; it was cheaper than Bowens so I expected less quality. I bought two 300w/s flashes and I am happily surprised by the quality so far. It's almost half of the price, lighter so I can easily carry it with me, it looks awesome also. it's better than I expected. So far I do not know if it's gonna last as Bowens does.

I already own a flash set but needed another to take portraits, so I went with a kit of 2 VSD300 and softboxes.
The other kit is huge and more or less transportable.
So I dit the setup a way my assistant could use it for corporate portraits.
We took a couple of pictures, round 800 with them and worked fine.
They're easy to setup, digital display is perfect and they have every thing you can expect from more expensive brands, plus they are small.

Everything was going fine until this week.
One is not powering up anymore, the other one got only pilot light but no flash even with spare bulb.
So I have to check the warranty.

Comments about Impact Digital Monolight 300W/s (120VAC):

This is my first (two) monolight purchases but i was surprised and expected less than i got with this light for the money. A youtube review comparing it to others of the same entry level got me to try it and i'm keeping both. Powerful light which for my individual portrait work gets turned down quite a bit. Recycle time is just fine and i like the beep telling me it's ready. The build quality seems good- has a sort of rubbery finish that i like. You don't use these lights by themselves- you put modifiers on so the Bowens mount will give me the broadest choice. I would recommed based upon 1 month of ownership.

Comments about Impact Digital Monolight 300W/s (120VAC):

I am a semi-professional photographer who was looking for a modest ligthing set-up that would help me to do the job without doing all of the job for me. I purchased two of these as part of a three light kit here from B and H with the intent of using them with my brand new Canon 6D and 24-70 2.9 lens. The results are very much satisfactory.

I've attached some images that I took against some white seamless paper pretty much right out of the box, first time out.

Comments about Impact Digital Monolight 300W/s (120VAC):

I have recently built a nice home studio using these as my main two front lights. I researched lighting and played with a few alien B strobes. I had a great budget for lighting and ended up saving a few $$ with this purchase. For the price and performance of the product, the impact moonlights are the best bang for your buck! When doing portraits it is recommended to have a minimum of 300w/s as your main lights (front). They were easy to work with, they look great and I recommend them for any home studio.

I needed these to photograph furniture and room settings. They work great. Love the compact size, they're pretty sturdy, one accidentally fell over , and the lamp survived, both the flash and modeling bulb didn't get damaged. As an amateur photographer, this suits my needs perfectly.

I bought 2 of these 300watt lights in a kit. The lights are very powerfull and built good. My only complaint is there should be a handle on the back to help when tilting the unit. It is very awkward to hold onto the back and tilt, espectially with a soft box attached. The P/C cord that comes with the lights just need to have the end crimped a little so they fit tighter in the camera port. The unit has no built in fan, I haven't had them that long to notice if that will cause a problem.

I got the 2 monolight kit with stands and umbrellas. I did quite a bit of research and found these to be a great value for the w/s rating. I have a small "studio" which is actually a converted room in our house and they provide more than ample output for portraits, full body, and small groups. They appear very well made, the controls are of nice quality and easy to use, I like the auto-dump feature though you do have to remember it will fire the strobes. I think that is fairly common though, and you just have to keep that in mind when lowering power. While lacking handles, the heads have a tacky covering and remain cool to the touch (at least with my use) and so are easy to move around. Recycle time is fine for my uses since I'm never at full power. Will fire with pc cord, flash, or radio triggers. Time will tell how durable they are. I love that they are sold through B&H as I trust them completely and have always had excellent service from them. Though not a review of the rest of the kit, the stands are lightweight, but are sturdy and function well, and the brollies are of nice quality too. Great value, nice product. Will purchase a third monolight soon.

This Mono Head seems to be built good. It's not for heavy everyday commercial use but regular, light use in the studio or on location is fine. Good light accessories available and all very affordable. I am a full time working professional commercial photographer that works 75% on location. I purchased this 3 light set up for us to use in the small studio and simple lighting set ups. I have used ONLY Dynalite for the last 21 years and still do.

Comments about Impact Digital Monolight 300W/s (120VAC):

This Mono Head seems to be built good. It's not for heavy everyday commercial use but regular, light use in the studio or on location is fine. Good light accessories available and all very affordable. I am a full time working professional commercial photographer that works 75% on location. I purchased this 3 light set up for us to use in the small studio and simple lighting set ups. I have used ONLY Dynalite for the last 21 years and still do.

Comments about Impact Digital Monolight 300W/s (120VAC):

As a photographer on a very limited budget, I had been using two very low-powered strobes for several years. Quite aware of the limitations, I did my best to improvise but always had to shoot portraits at less than f/8 and with not the best lighting coverage. I finally decided that if I am going to move forward in this business, I've got to up my equipment. Thus I found this monolight by Impact. The price is quite low and the light output more than double of my other strobes.... I've received the product and used it several times for portraits and stock photography and am very pleased. This has given me so much more freedom and control and it really shows in the images. My only regret is having not done this earlier!

I have used high end equipment before and these strobe heads have all of the same features a high end brand would have. Very durable and easy to replace bulbs. Happy to have my own studio equipment to start making some beautiful images.
