I have been working with Bowens for the last 10 years; lately I was getting tired of the price since I travel a lot and sometimes my flashes get damaged. I did not know this label so I really took a risk; it was cheaper than Bowens so I expected less quality. I bought two 300w/s flashes and I am happily surprised by the quality so far. It's almost half of the price, lighter so I can easily carry it with me, it looks awesome also. it's better than I expected. So far I do not know if it's gonna last as Bowens does.

I bought this product based on a few online reviews stating that this was a great entry level strobe product. Upon initial setup, I was impressed with the quality and feel of the design, the back settings are user friendly, and the light is powerful and responsive. However, the top grey tab to secure modifiers was already broken off and rattling at the bottom of my packaging, and based on other reviews on here, it's a flimsy feature build. I'm not entirely confident that my expensive compatible modifiers are sufficiently secured onto this device any more, but with extensive custom charges and the long return process at B&H, I feel stuck with trying to make the most of a fairly expensive, poorly delivered product. I really wish something as important as the security of your modifiers was more of a strength here, but I unfortunately can't say that I can recommend this starter strobe kit.

Works great for my photo booth, I only use it on the lowest setting and at 12 feet away gives great consistent light.

Great Product

Comments about Impact Digital Monolight 300W/s (120VAC):

After multiple test runs and eventually bringing it to market and use in photo booth rentals it has done a great job so far. Have only had it a few weeks but nonetheless has provided outstanding lighting.

Comments about Impact Digital Monolight 300W/s (120VAC):

I would rate this 0 stars if I could. It arrived non-functional. I only purchased it as a replacement for another Impact light, that died after just over a year of minimal use. The Impact light kit has been a nightmare, since day one. They only fire four of five shutter releases, they provide inconsistent light and they won't lock in place, regardless of the modifier attached to them. They are a complete and total waste of money and I will never buy another product from Impact.

I mainly use this light as an off light (rim, etc...).
Pro: The light works great... The price is good.

Con: The only I have is the tightening knob/handle. After a few uses the tightening knob/handle doesn't tighten enough to hold a softbox (let's not discuss the an Octobox) in place any longer.

The Bowen mount attachment is so-so.

After reading many of the reviews I went ahead and pulled the trigger and ordered this light. I like everything about this light except the locking mechanism. The hardware used is cheap and will not last. The carriage bolt has rounded off and will not hold any weight at all. Wasn't used with a large modifier so that wasn't the problem. Won't even hold the small umbrella it came with in a special offer. So off the hardware store to try and fix it.

This is my first (two) monolight purchases but i was surprised and expected less than i got with this light for the money. A youtube review comparing it to others of the same entry level got me to try it and i'm keeping both. Powerful light which for my individual portrait work gets turned down quite a bit. Recycle time is just fine and i like the beep telling me it's ready. The build quality seems good- has a sort of rubbery finish that i like. You don't use these lights by themselves- you put modifiers on so the Bowens mount will give me the broadest choice. I would recommed based upon 1 month of ownership.

I am a semi-professional photographer who was looking for a modest ligthing set-up that would help me to do the job without doing all of the job for me. I purchased two of these as part of a three light kit here from B and H with the intent of using them with my brand new Canon 6D and 24-70 2.9 lens. The results are very much satisfactory.

I've attached some images that I took against some white seamless paper pretty much right out of the box, first time out.

Comments about Impact Digital Monolight 300W/s (120VAC):

I have recently built a nice home studio using these as my main two front lights. I researched lighting and played with a few alien B strobes. I had a great budget for lighting and ended up saving a few $$ with this purchase. For the price and performance of the product, the impact moonlights are the best bang for your buck! When doing portraits it is recommended to have a minimum of 300w/s as your main lights (front). They were easy to work with, they look great and I recommend them for any home studio.
