It's a simple bracket, but it's very effective. Does the job well.

That being said, it's a bit cumbersome. I use a Nikon TTL off-camera shoe cord with this bracket, and there's no comfortable way to secure the coiled cable to the bracket (so it doesn't flop around and/or get in the way). I'm using plastic zip ties to secure the cable, but that just adds to the bulk.

Also, I prefer to use the bracket backwards, and here's why... I have a Nikon D300 with a battery grip, and the grip has a set of command dials, a shutter release trigger, an AE/AF lock button, and a multi-directional knob. When I'm shooting in portrait/vertical orientation I find it to be very important to have these at my fingertips, which is normally very comfortable. However, this grip is designed so that the handle goes in the left hand, which means that the camera must be turned in the opposite direction from what I am used to because I shoot with a battery grip. Attaching the bracket backwards works okay, except that the padded handle of the bracket (and that coiled TTL cable) add a LOT of bulk to the right side of my camera, making it difficult to grip in horizontal/landscape orientation.

Lastly, in complaints, the cold shoe mount that comes with the bracket is not impressive. I am able to bypass it entirely, and simply screw the flash end of my TTL cord directly into the bracket (using the anti-swivel plate, of course, which works wonderfully). However, the screw provided is slightly too long, resulting in a wobbly connection. There are 2 simple fixes here: use a smaller screw if you have it, or simply add a small washer between the screw and the bracket. I did the latter, and the connection is actually pretty solid.

As for the good stuff, the foam padded handle is comfortable. I've read some complaints about the screw for the camera, but I haven't had a problem here. There are additional screw holes in the base of the bracket for attaching tripod plates, which is really nice. The bracket itself swivels comfortably, but it's also tight enough so that it won't turn unless you turn it.

As I said above, I have a D300 with grip. Add the TTL cable (which has an AF assist lamp built into the camera-end of the cable), and the whole thing is just barely taller than the space "allowed" in the bracket design. However, I didn't have any problems with this set up; the top of the bracket just has to rest on top of the AF assist block on the camera. Not a big deal, and not enough bulk to alter the flash angle in any noticeable way.

Overall, I'm happy. This is a great tool to quickly and easily keep your flash above the lens in either vertical or horizontal camera orientation. Just don't forget the anti-swivel plate for the flash, and whatever communication you need between your camera and flash.

Used:
- Used with Canon 20D for sports, portraits, events, and occasions in a variety of environments for over 3 years.
The Good:
- Almost always use flash indoors and out and never had red eye.
- Joint connecting flash support arm to bracket provides good movement to keep flash above lens in portrait or landscape and is stiff enough to support the flash in a landscape postion (off to the side) while the camera is in portrait.
The Bad:
- When I use the bracket I hold the camera (20D). Without the battery pack, there is not enough surface area to get a good grip on camera. Not necessarily a con, but the battery pack is good to use with bracket.
- No Anti-Twist plate for this bracket and 20D. I recommend using a battery pack for an SLR camera for the added grip and battery power. However, this also adds bulk and weight. I am constantly adjusting the camera and tightening the mounting screw because the camera keeps twisting. If you are doing agressive photography at an event, such as a party, you can miss a shot with the flash not aiming where the lens is.
- This is also a negative on the camera manufacturer because large cameras should have two points to mount from. One stationary and one floating. If the battery pack for the 20D had this, I could easily affix the camera to the bracket with two mounting screws and be set to move and swing around without the bracket twisting the flash out of alignment from the camera.
- Dual mounting points probably won't happen anytime soon, but a good Anti-Twist plate that won't damage the finish on the camera is an essential missing accessory to this bracket.

Comments about Stroboframe Quick Flip 350 Bracket:

I lost an Impact Flash Bracket somewhere on US 421 in Kentucky. I wanted to replace it but it was discontinued, unfortunately. This was the recommended replacement. I reluctantly ordered it because I like the results I get with getting a flash out of the line of the Camera lens. It worked just fine on my very next shoot and I hope I don't leave it on the top of my car again like I did with the impact.

Very good piece for the price to ward off flash camar reducing shadows and better portraid to take photos because the flash is kept up, the only detail is that when you turn the flash part is not strong so it stays in the position.

Comments about Stroboframe Quick Flip 350 Bracket:

I have used Stroboframe flash brackets for years, and I won't work without them (I'm a wedding photographer). This new version is replacing a couple VERY beat up, WELL used older Flip brackets by Stroboframe. This new version has a track on the "flipping arm" that holds the flash unit, and it allows you to adjust where the flash is mounted on the arm. Still getting used to needing to move and secure this portion of the bracket -- I think it was easier when the flash mount on the flipping arm was stationary at the furthest point out on the arm, directly above the lens (my working opinion, only).

Comments about Stroboframe Quick Flip 350 Bracket:

Purchased this because I needed something quick and cheap. I am very satisfied with what I got for the price. I need to tighten the arm joint a bit because it would flop over sometimes if I held the camera in the wrong position with the weight of my 430exii on it, an the hotshoe mount is just a tad looser than I'd like it to be, but overall it's a fantastic addition to my bag.

I've been using this bracket primarily with my D7100/80-400 AF-S and Better Beamer/SB 600. The unit is well made, lightweight, and locks down securely on my camera body. The only additional feature I would like is for it to be lockable in both of the rotating bracket positions. Otherwise, it's a great product.

Lightweight and versatile. The foam on the handle probably won't last very long but for the price it is just what I needed

Screw to hold a flash is too long to attach Nilon SC-29 flush.

Comments about Stroboframe Quick Flip 350 Bracket:

The Stroboflash Quick Flip 350 takes the strain off a DSLR's hot shoe and moves the flash away from the lens. This saves wear and tear on the camera and gives better results, including shadow and red-eye control. It is simple to use, sturdy and inexpensive -- and it works! It does add some bulk and weight to the camera-flash combination, but the pluses are well worth that small price.
