I use this product to support a 320ws Alienbees flash head and a 47" octabox. It does the job very well. Also, the stand is well suited to holding sandbags at the base. I currently use a 25 pound bag, and if the situation necessitates it, an additional 15 pound bag.

The height is plenty flexible, and the base is wide and supportive.

The clasps that control the extension of each segment are made of plastic, and while they feel a bit flimsy they do their job very well.

While I typically find Manfrotto products to be built very well and this is no exception from a durability standpoint, these light stands lack stability.

Once extended, the distance between the very bottom of the pole and the apex of the three legs is too short, making for an unstable rig.

Even with sandbags, this is not nearly as stable as my Giottos light stands are.

I cannot speak for the new QSS (Quick Stack System) compatible light stands as I have not tried those, but I purchased these after reading reviews that the QSS stands had weak tigthening knobs (red colored tabs).

I am using it outdoors at the beach in wind. So far 3'octa a breeze. Pun intended. Next will be 5'. Has pretty wide stance and shaft is sturdy for a light weight stand. A different brand had the top shaft bending with the wind.

I had purchaced all Bogen 8 foot stands back in the early 90s before Manfrotto bought Bogen out. The Bogens have continued to be the perfect stands and adding this Manfrotto to the stand kit I have is a no brainer. Its solidly built, lightweight and easy to set up.

I got this stand to work with a speedlight softbox. I have Manfrotto 366B, which I liked, but wanted something taller. I use it in my home studio and it is everything I expected with no disappointments.

I use flashes all the time in my wedding and portrait photography and the 367B is the stand I use. It's great to raise flashes above dancing crowds! It is compact and light enough to travel with (or mail) and goes with me everywhere.

These lightstands are excellent for the price. Super simple to extend and collapse, highly portable, and highly durable. I keep two of them in the trunk of my car with 580EX II strobes attached for quick on-location shooting. They're fantastic! Use them for weddings, portraiture, food ~ anything where I need just a little extra light. I highly recommend them.

I use this stand for my microphone when doing location recording. Light stands are better than mic stands, in my opinion - this one gets quite tall while maintaining a low profile and weighing less than a typical mic stand. It has a wide spread at the bottom, so it's quite stable, and the locking mechanisms for the telescoping sections seems well made and durable. I love it more than I've ever loved a mic stand!

Seems to be very well made, but opening and closing the legs is very difficult. I have only used it about a dozen times, but it doesn't seem to have loosened up at all. I'm not sure if that is a good or bad thing.

I have 9 of these light stands and shoot a lot of out door night shots using Nikon SP910 Speed lights with Pocketwizard Flex5's on them and small sand bags(2 pound) draped over the leg stabilizers will stabilize the stand that much more in a steady wind or the occasional studio bumping elbows, I wouldn't mount a Profoto 1000 D1 light to it but for most basic flash heads it is a great bargain for a well made Light Stand.

Nice little stand. I use it to mount a Litepanels LED light (combined with a hot shoe adapter) when I want my DSLR camera show free for my shotgun mic.

I use only one umbrella outdoors, so what interested me most was having a tall, easy to carry stand with the widest possible base (for this class). All of the components are very well made and easy to use. It doesn't have the air cushion which is my only disappointment. Very happy, would definitely buy this again.

Comments about Manfrotto 367B Basic Light Stand - 9' (2.7m):

When I went looking for a light stand, I have to admit that because of my love for my economical Manfrotto tripod, I started here. Then I looked at other brands and came back.

I wanted the 9' height for my home "studio" (spare bedroom) but needed something that would be easy to set up and take down and stick in the closet. If it doesn't go back in the closet, it doesn't get to stay (house rules....actually my wife's rules).

And having just bought a new speedlight, umbrella and Manfrotto adapter, I was concerned about stability of all that at 9'. But it works great. As soon as I save up for a softbox, that's going on there next.

It's not the most compact, but there's room in the closet (for now). I'd buy another when the time comes.

Nothing wrong with this stand. I own several of different types and bought two of these for their versatility. I can use them for holding my Manfrotto crossbar to support background canvas or muslin or use them to hold my SB-28 Speedlights with whatever snoot, grid, etc. is called for. They are also plenty substantial enough to support my Photogenic monolights. They can be used to hold reflectors or other lighting modifiers.

These are lightweight enough to be no hassle on the road and strong enough to handle the jobs I listed above. I have no complaints whatsoever with them, as is often the case with Manfrotto equipment.
