This Lexar CompactFlash card delivers great value to users of all levels of experience, from the casual user or enthusiast to the professional. My biggest attraction to this card was the compatibility - Lexar guarantees this card to work with any CompactFlash compatible product. Period. This is especially valuable to users with older products, as some older cameras do not support media over 2GB. Also noteworthy is that this size (2GB) is a good approach to risk management; it would be extremely regrettable if something happened to a 4GB or 8GB card causing you to lose everything. At the same time, 2GB is more than enough capacity for most users.

This Lexar Pro 133x CF card is the 4th Lexar Pro CF card I've owned, and I am surprised to find that it is by far the slowest to read. I bought it from bhphoto.com, and it came with all the fancy packaging, so I doubt it's a fake.It takes almost TWICE AS LONG (!) to read 2GB of data from this card as my old Lexar Pro 80x 2GB CF card! Using the same reader, same computer, etc. It's also about 3% smaller, only 2,003,140,608 bytes after formatting in-camera compared to 2,062,483,456. Both are formatted with FAT and have the same amount of used space after formatting. That's about 5 RAW shots for me.Fortunately the camera writes to it as fast, or nearly as fast, as the old card. That's after all the most important consideration. But taking twice as long to read is a surprising annoyance. It may just be that my reader is old -- "Imation FlashGO! 2.0"; I think I've had it since at least 2003 (yes, it's USB 2.0). But if that's the issue, it would be nice to have been informed rather than have to play guessing games.Since it was only about [$] after rebate, I won't bother to return it. But if I ever need another one, I'll look for an old 80x Pro or 40x Pro. I'd gladly pay twice as much or more.

It's a 2GB FC card...what do you need to know? Works great, I've been using these cards for years now. And the recent rebate offer made me stock up on more. Love 'em.

Fast and dependable card. Great write speed with my Nikon D300. I've been using Lexar Prof. cards since I went digital with my D100 and they've all proved reliable. I like the idea of using smaller capacity cards verses 8 gigs & larger just in case of a loss. Have never had one of my Lexar cards fail me yet. This 2 GB card is now discontinued [$]

I use it with my Rebel XT 8MP Dslr. Good for about 500 Fine jpeg, or 150 RAW + Fine jpeg option. Fast enough for the 3 fps continuous shooting mode. The Lexar brand name give me the peace of mind. I have had a PQI card failed on me before resulting in lost pictures. I would stay with name brands like Lexar, Kingston, and Sandisk. [...]

Comments about Lexar 2GB Professional 133x CompactFlash Card:

This is one of the fastest cards for the Canon 40D (see the timing data on Rob Galbraith's website).
Actual real-life speed of memory cards depends on both the card and the camera. For example, on the 40D, the Lexar 133x card is faster than the Lexar 300x card. On another camera, the situation may be reversed.
This is why you read conflicting opinions of memory cards' speed - it depends on the camera. Also, different capacity cards of the same line may have widely different speeds. On the 40D, the 8GB 133x Lexar is slower than the 2GB and 4GB 133x Lexar cards. Make no assumptions.

Also noteworthy is that this size (2GB) is a good approach to risk management; it would be extremely regrettable if something happened to a 4GB or 8GB card causing you to lose everything. At the same time, 2GB is more than enough capacity for most users.

I have an older camera that doesn't take advantage of the newer faster cards. The Lexar cards are all that I have used, with no issues.

At 133x speed, I notice it is as fast or faster than all my other cards. This is one I will grab first.
