The intuos5 touch has several issues with the touch features - forcing you to attempt several times to get something done (see my review on the intuos5). After reading some forums, I found that the Intuos4 mouse works on the intuos5 tablets - so I bought one after the fact. It works great and is particularly helpful on regular Windows applications (I hardly ever use the touch anymore).

I have noticed that the driver for Windows 7 64 bit crashes from time to time - I can't be sure if it's the mouse or not...I need to do more testing. But simply opening the Properties panel for the Tablet resets things most of the time.

I don't understand why they don't ship a mouse automatically with the intuos tablets...touch is too touchy.

I've tried to use my Intuos 5 tablet and pen to do "normal" PC activities like file management, copying and pasting text etc since users of the Wacom all kind of said you have to "put your mouse away" and just use the tablet to get totally familiar with it. I noted on CreativeLive Wacom tablet users were using a mouse (on top of their tablet) when they wanted to do "mousey" things. I tried my wired mouse and it worked fine - so I thought I would get the Intuos mouse and eliminate the mouse USB wire.
Wrong - the Intuos mouse did NOT work as my Microsoft mouse - it sometimes hung up, when it did work and with my normal mouse I could adjust volume etc using the mouse wheel - I could not get the Intous Mouse to work as I expected. So I put it down, went back to my Microsoft mouse and called B&H for a RMA.
No problem - B&H stood behind the return 100% and I hd my refund in about 6 days after mailing it back.

        Comments about Wacom Intuos4 Mouse:

Great having a 5-button mouse for use with my tablet. And the new Wacom preference panel lets me program the 4 button, scroll wheel and scroll wheel click independently for any application I want. Super useful for my Final Cut Pro, Photoshop, Quicktime, Safari and Finder applications. On the negative side, I think it's construction is a bit fragile, ergonomically it's a bit too small and the scroll wheel is a touch slippery under the finger... it needs a grippier silicone surface.

It's the smoothest mouse interaction out there, making fine movements easy. Love the various buttons, wheel etc. Wish the pads were replaceable. And the inside easier to get at to clean as I've had to buy a replacement every year.

        Comments about Wacom Intuos4 Mouse:

It does what it was designed to do and it works fine. However, ergonomically it is a disaster. It is too small and slippery. The scroll wheel is also slippery and too recessed so that often my finger slips over the surface rather than actually turning the wheel. I got my new tablet and started using the mouse right away for things like Alias and was instantly turned off. I was craving a normal sized mouse. I feel like I have to have a vice grip on this one to have any sort of control and that causes hand fatigue.

I recently needed to replace my Wacom mouse to go with my tablet. It was a rough go once the mouse was losing it's edge and this replacement was exactly what the dr. ordered! I literally had to just remove my other mouse and place this new one on the tablet and away I went! Super smooth and fast (the way they should be!). So far thrilled! *Note: the other mouse was the original that was 4-6 years old!

                Comments about Wacom Intuos4 Mouse:

I found The touch capability on the intuos5 touch to be problematic, particularly frustrating when working with the regular Windows applications. I missed my mouse very badly. The Wacom forums pointed out that the Inuos4 mouse works on the intuos5 tablets, so I grabbed one. It's definitely needed, in my opinion. Works great.

BTW: I'm having some problems with the driver crashing sporadically (Windows 7, 64 bit) - I'm not sure if it's getting confused with the mouse and touch or not - or just a problem with the software. The problem is usually resolved by just opening the Properties app.

Too expensive for the low quality

                Comments about Wacom Intuos4 Mouse:

My second Wacom tablet. Got used to using the mouse in pen mode with my first tablet (Intuos3) but suffered regularly from the left button double clicking. Disassembly and cleaning would alleviate the problem for a time but it would always return. Considering the $30 mice I've bought have never had this kind of problem and the price of the Wacom mice, I would expect better performance. Now I've upgraded to the Intuos5 and didn't notice that it comes without the mouse. Ordered this one and out of the box, I already have occasional double click issues. A problem like this should not persist through multiple generations of the product.
Unfortunately, I don't have other options and will have to live with this if I want to use the mouse with the tablet. I don't have the desk space for a standard mouse in addition to the tablet.

                  Comments about Wacom Intuos4 Mouse:

The Intuos 4 Mouse is used with the Wacom Intuos Tablets and is needed to access the full capability of the tablet (great tablet) So you use this mouse for all of your daily mouse activity.Works great, Unfortuntely the mouse electronics are extremely sensitive to dirt and your mouse will develope double click syndrome over time. If you are handy, you can disassemble the mouse and try cleaning it, this works most of the time.Downside, these mice are relatively expensive and there seems to be a chronic supply shortage. So if you need one, I suggest you keep a spare on hand.

I have used one or another Wacom tablet for many years now. I've had my most recent, an Intous4, for some years. While I use a pen for all my photo work, I use the mouse for everything else. My mouse suddenly started double-clicking when I only clicked once. Wacom tech assistance said this means the mouse is broken. This purchase is a replacement.

                    Comments about Wacom Intuos4 Mouse:

Although for most of the design work I'm using a pen, I'm always grabbing the mouse for the more mundane stuff. The switches were starting to go (getting double-clicks all the time) so needed a replacement. Good price, and quick shipping.

I cant do without the Intuos4 mouse. I use the pen while using Photoshop. The mouse for everything else. I just canot be without a mouse.
