I love this case, the latches can be open quietly which is a huge plus compared to the Pelican. It was delivered fairly quick! 10/10

Why I Bought This instead Of The 1510

Comments about iM2500 Storm Trak Case without Foam (Yellow):

Full disclosure--I use this as luggage. No foam, no inserts, not even a lid organizer. At it's price point, it is nearly equal to other big name, pretty sturdy luggage. I care about the items I travel with, it dawned on me I should care about what I carry them in.

The wheels of the Im2500 are like those of inline skates, meaning they are pretty rubbery. Tight on the axel though. They do not free spin if flicked with your finger. The 1510 has plastic wheels. I like this because I perceive this case will make far less noise when wheeled. Unfortunately both cases do not have 4 swivel wheels.

The iM2500's handel is more sturdy and my opinion much nicer than the 1510. There is quite a bit of flex to the 1510 design. Another downer, both cases require two hands to extend the handle.

The iM2500 has a continuous hinge along the back. The 1510 has two short hinges. With the lid open there is some, but not much flex. i believe the thickness in general and with the continuous hinge, the lid will never become out of alignment.

I wish both cases had an integral business card holder near the top handle for identification. I've lost my share of luggage tags over the years and having permanent mounted identification on the case is a good idea.

Why did I not buy actual Pelican luggage? At this writing, it was WAY too expensive. I could buy 2.3 of these for one carry on Pelican luggage. They have rubbery wheels and the best solution for the handle. More attractive colors and design too. But unfortunately just plain too expensive.

Comments about iM2500 Storm Trak Case without Foam (Black):

I use these cases for housing and protecting handheld x-ray imaging devices for field deployment. I have over 9 years of experience with this application, and they have always done the job. The water-tight/pressure protection has been essential in the difficult, humid environments of tsunamis, hurricanes/typhoons, tornados, floods, swamps and mudslides where we have used these units in first response and victim identification operations. We have our own custom-made foam inserts, so I can't comment on the padding provided by the producer.

Comments about iM2500 Storm Trak Case without Foam (Black):

Great case, proved its worth very first outing. Bought it cause i was sick of my gate checed luggage getting soaked while it was going between the planes and first trip out it was storming in Atlanta and all my stuff inside was still dry when i got to Israel. Highly recommend Pelican storm cases if you wanna keep it dry. Bonus on top was handle only comes out when a button on the back in a recessed hole is pushed so i dont have to worry about the handle being broke off like my last Swiss Gear bag. And on top of all this greatness was the fact that i got this case almost $ less than anywhere else i could find it with blazing fast shipping that had it at my house in only 2 days time, Thanks B&H look forward to doing more in the future with y'all.

Comments about iM2500 Storm Trak Case without Foam (Black):

I've used varios Pelican cases in the past, this one is the same size as the 1510, with a more moddern design. I travel a lot, and I've been through many cases/tool bags, pelicas and the best for the money. Lifetime warranty is great peace of mind, knowing that if it does brake, it will be replaced. The case+tools should not exceed the 50lb travel limit, it is carry on size, I have another one that I take with me and it fits just fine on the overheads. All in all, I don't think there's a better case out there, period.
