I primarily bought this softbox for my speedlite because I wanted to control where my light went, I wanted nice soft lighting for portraits and I wanted something portable. I first started shooting off-camera flash with a shoot-through umbrella. I love shooting with an umbrella because it's easy. But I soon found that when I wanted to control where my light was going, I was going to need another modifier, a softbox.
What I like about this softbox is that it seems very durable. Popped open, this thing is solid and rigid. I was afraid at first to fold it flat because some of the rods inside didn't feel like they folded correctly to me, but once I figured out what corners to fold it was much easier.
Another thing I like is the silver lining in the inside, it sorta gives my flash an extra boost, like it's a tad more powerful than it really is.
The bracket that it comes with is very light and made out of durable plastic. One thing to note is that you cannot angle the softbox because the bracket is in a fixed position. That isn't an issue for me because I mount it on a pin at the end of a boom arm which I can point anywhere.
I also love that it is meant to be taken places easily. Getting it set up is painless and when it's windy outdoors, this handles it much better than an umbrella.
Again, if you own a speedlite, this is a great softbox for it. It provides great soft lighting for portraits. The last shoot I did with this was of two people, 2/3 of the body and this softbox provided more than enough light. Not sure how it would do with lighting full body shots of say 3 or 4 people, but for what I've done so far it is great.

What I like:

• Decent quality light if you can get the outer diffuser to fit properly.

• Bracket is just large enough to use a Pocket Wizards Flex TT5 with a full size Speedlite mounted on top like the Canon 580 EX II. (see photo)

• Quality carrying case, in fact the case feels like it's better quality than the soft box itself.

What I don't like:

• The inner diffusion screen has a terrible hook system that can take a bit to attach.

• The outer diffusion screen doesn't completely fit leading to light leak from the corners or wherever you can't get complete coverage from it. I basically had to stretch mine to get it to almost fit, luckily I didn't rip it. (see photo)

• The box itself fits quite loosely on the mounting bracket, won't take much at all to knock it off. Still solid enough for outdoor use with minimal wind though.

• The mounting bracket does not tilt so if you need to angle the box at all you'll need another bracket.

Summary:

Overall it's not a bad purchase for the money but they need to pay more attention to the little details of this product. It's definitely a smarter buy than the Lastolite equivalent as I can't find hardly any difference between the two. A better outer diffuser and the inclusion of a tilting bracket and this would have been a four star product.

My flash works great with this soft box.
It is perfect for individual portraits outside or just wanting to add some light to a subject.
I have used it in many of my photos since I received it. It is perfect, collapsible, has a carrying bag, and works great with a variety of flashes!

    Here are the highlights:
    - Very easy to set-up/take down
    - The soft box has solid construction
    - The case is very well designed and made of Cordura. There is a great accesory pocket on the outside.
    - Not easy to travel with. The box collapses into a flat but rigid triangle measuring 24x20.
    - The inner baffle attaches to elastic bands on the frame. They can be a pain to hook up especially in the winter when its cold. Also, the sewing comes undone and I've lost hooks.

This light is a thing of beauty. So compact and works perfect. A must for any outdoor photographer. I only wish I had bought the umbrella connector so I could tilt this up and down, but all in all, great product.

Great softbox. When I originally set it up the pin on the inner diffuser snapped. I contacted the manufacturer and they immediately sent me diffuser which I received yesterday.

I get good results from this softbox. It's easy to set up. The light from it is soft. It's a box. It does what it's supposed to do and was relatively inexpensive. I have no actual issues with it other than maybe the mount for it. It's plastic. I have purchased cheaper softboxes that had metal mounts. No big deal. It only has to hold a shoe mount flash. The carrying case on this Impact Quikbox is decent. It's all decent. It gets 4 stars because it does what it's supposed to do and it's relatively inexpensive.

Almost perfect! I bought the box to put on the end of a monopod for my assistant to hold during weddings. It's a little bigger than I probably need... but the light is nice and even. It has a two stage diffuser so the light is really nice. Only complaint - the part that connects to my stand/monopod is flush with most circular male pieces... mine is a hex so I had to grind it down to fit flush. I'm prob the only person to have to ever do this though haha.Buy it.

The kit consists of the foldable softbox, a stand, and a multi-directional bracket. This is not a heavy-duty unit, but it gets the job done. The stand extends to 8 feet, but at that height the sections of the main structure flex quite a bit. The bracket does support the softbox, but anything heavier would be too much for it. The softbox itself is excellent, has two diffusers and produces a very pleasing light. Quite a difference from just using a flash, as the catchlights in the eyes of the subject with the softbox are spectacular.

I am using it for holiday photos and passport applications, so it does the job for me. If your application will be heavy studio use and possibly heavier equipment, you should purchase the softbox by itself and get a sturdier stand and bracket.

This is a cool little tool that allows me to put some soft light into my bridal pictures. It's easy to set-up and break-down, the construction is good, and easy to stick at the end of a monopod or light stand.

It's a bid odd shaped when you break it down and doesn't store overly easily but vs. the options it's a great solution.

This product was recommended by Scott Kelby in one of his seminars and it works really well. A little tricky to open and collaps from the supplied carrying case, but I love that the instructions stated that I could leave the internal pieces attached when I put it away. This made my first shoot with it a success.

I love this soft box and the light it puts out. After attending a Scott Kelby workshop on portraits, I purchased this soft box. I set it up over the weekend and took the best selfie I've ever taken, don't judge, my family was away for Spring break. Anywho, I'm very pleased with the product and would highly recommend to anyone that is looking for a great collapsible light.

Was a bit nervous when I got it but after some play time it grew on me. Nice build and easy set up. Though since It's been folded for a while when I set it up it wasnt perfectly square. Wasnt off by much but enough to notice if you really stare at it, though im sure it will come out with continued use.

In terms of quality of light and portability, this softbox is great. In terms of assembly and durability, it feels like it may or may not stand the test of time. For a $[$]+ softbox, I feel like it isn't the sturdiest, but the results it produces are great.

Worked well for Ceramics product photography. A little tough to install the inner diffuser.
