Comments about Domke F-811 Photo Satchel:

Perfect fit for everything I need for a shoot or travel. Plenty of pockets and spaces for stuff. Traveled to Dallas for a shoot, carried a body, two lenses, batteries, cards, one flash in the big compartment. had my paperwork and iPad in the other. I like Domke and thought about the F803 and F802 series, but I work! I need to be able to carry what I need and be able to get to it when I need it! The 811 is the perfect size for me. I like that it opens at the top and has plastic/rubber feet on the bottom. Doesn't fall over, stays put.

My 15'' laptop barely fits into it. Power supply with power cord goes into photo gear compartment and it leaves space only for small camera. Like Leica RF and couple of lenses. Here is no space for clipboard and documents. Business card and pens compartment is very small.Fully stuffed it is uncomfortable for a walk. Not a laptop and DSLR bag, but tablet and DSLR bag.

I still gave this bag 4 stars even though I did not keep it. I attempted to put in a D600 with grip and I couldn't get it to fit comfortable in the bag with the spacers. I even ended up scratching the camera body on the heavy zippers. This is a very well constructed bag with heavy duty zippers. If it would have fit my body I would have kept it and delt with the smaller space for putting only a couple wide angle lenses in, but it did not suit my needs. I do recommend this bag, but keep in mind it doesn't fit a gripped body well and will only hold a couple wide angle lenses, but has the ability to hold smaller apperature lenses.

Comments about Domke F-811 Photo Satchel:

Had been looking at this bag for some time , when I found it was on sale I jumped . It's got the usual heavy duty Domke build , canvas , metal clips , heavy zippers , and a shoulder strap with anti slip rubber woven in . Little or no plastic , made in the USA .Water resistant , not waterproof . It's got lots of pockets , 2 small zippered ones on the front flap , good for batteries , cables , flash cards and the like ; 2 larger ones under the flap , both secured with velcro … good for chargers , mouse , iPod and similar , and one zippered pocket on the back that's kinda thin , maybe good for maps and such . This one's got a bottom zipper so it can be turned into a sleeve to fit over a luggage handle .Laptop pocket's zippered and padded . A 13" Macbook Pro fits in easily . A 15" Powerbook ( the only 15" laptop I've got) also slides in no problem . There's a divider that fits into the laptop pocket that can be placed to keep the laptop from sliding around. The main compartment , also zippered , has a 4 compartment pocket , and a large space that will accommodate a 5Dmk2 with a 24-105 mounted no problem . The dividers in the removable compartment are adjustable but I couldn't get them the way I liked . If you have large diameter lenses , 72,77 mm and bigger know that this could happen . Smaller diameter stuff shouldn't be a problem . I ended up using the compartments from my F4AF bag into this bag instead of using the compartment that came with the bag . They plop right in and ,seeing they've already got the stuff I travel with ( 5D2 , 17-40 , 24-105 , 100-400 , small flash),I can move them in and out depending on what bag I want to use.Set up this way , there's also room for binoculars , point and shoot and a small amount of other stuff .Unlike most other Domke bags , which are sorta limp and flexible , this ones pretty rigid . Got a couple of small feet sewn on the bottom so it won't flop over . I've got at least 6 other Domkes , some I've had , and used, for maybe 20 years and are still kicking .
About the only thing I'd want would be for the camera compartment to open wider , like an old doctor's bag , or some of the Billlingham's . No problem using this as a carryon .
