Comments about Induro 8X CT-214 Carbon Fiber Tripod:

As I have upgraded gear and ultimately upped the weight, Canon 60DS with Canon and Sigma Lenses (70-200mm the biggest), I knew I needed a better tripod. After hours, eh, days and weeks of reading reviews, I decided on the Induro, it got adequate reviews and fell in my price range. Oh, am I happy with this!!!! I could feel the quality right out of the packaging. My photos have cleared up substantially!! Stable and easy to use. Unscrew the section release and it has just enough weight to drop out on it's own while I hold my camera, etc. A quick lift with my knee or foot will place it back with no effort if I need it. I have topped my tripod with an Induro DMO1 (used - for now) and I am light years beyond where I was! The bag that comes with it is also high quality. At some point I got it in my head that if they offered a quality bag, they cared about the quality of their tripod and felt they could help you care for it!!! At least here I was right! If you are looking for a GREAT tripod on a limited budget, this is it (trust me, I'm limited budget!)

Comments about Induro 8X CT-214 Carbon Fiber Tripod:

This tripod is for all my trips. Not the lightest but, the most stable. It held up in last week wind storms. That alone is worth it's weight in gold.
The only thing that would be nice would be thicker padding. I some time carry the tripod on my shoulder.

Left my Manfrotto 190cxpro on a beach in Hawaii and needed a new sturdy tripod under $. This Induro fit the bill. Lightweight, strong, affordable! Paired with an induro ball head and really like the set up!

Great tripod all around. The twist leg locks are excellent. Perfectly balanced and holds plenty of weight. I also have the CT-314 for my larger 600mm lens but this would also hold the weight ,depending on the weight of the head you use. All around best tripod out there. Gear bag is excellent and extra spiked feet are a bonus. Get one today you won't regret it .

I shoot both products and families and other things. Best thing for me is that is tripod is super light and can handle my camera well. I have nothing bad to say about this tripod other than it pretty costly.

But the bottom line you get what you paid for.

Comments about Induro 8X CT-214 Carbon Fiber Tripod:

I have been using this tripod for some months now and still rate it as excellent. However, I have encountered one design flaw to be aware of. I was carrying the tripod on a backpack and apparently one leg was not tightened. The leg fell out along with 2 Teflon pieces. Fortunately I was walking on pavement and immediately heard them fall off. Had I been on grass perhaps it would have been different. Be careful to fully tighten all legs during transport.

Comments about Induro 8X CT-214 Carbon Fiber Tripod:

I've only had this tripod for a few weeks, but based on experience so far, I have no hesitation recommending it to others.

It was bought to replace an ancient (20+ years old) Bogen 3021 as a travel tripod, because the 3021 doesn't fit in a carry-on. It weights half as much, seems at least as stable (even with an extra leg section), goes as high as I need it to without extending the center column (I'm short, YMMV), and goes as low or lower (with optional short center column) as the Bogen.

I wouldn't recommend using it with lenses longer than about 300 mm, but that's sort of a given for all lightweight tripods.

Comments about Induro 8X CT-214 Carbon Fiber Tripod:

I already had a carbon fiber tripod that I love (Manfroto 190 CX Pro3), but I wanted another sturdy, lightweight for my Nodal Ninja head. I have seen this Induro tripod in use and thought its capability to accept screw-in accessories would be nice to have. The accessory capability IS nice, but there are additional aspects of this tripod which are also valued. The leg locking mechanisms are very smooth and secure, this tripod is the tallest one I own yet its ability to get low to the ground is very impressive, and those foam grips really are nice to have. The tripod's weight is insignificant -- lighter than any head you are likely to put on it. Mine came with a very nice zippered case and a set of tools in a separate zippered pouch. Classy

Comments about Induro 8X CT-214 Carbon Fiber Tripod:

Did a lot of research, glad I went with this model, I use a Canon 7D with a 100-400L lens, and sometimes a 2x III teleconverter, and this paired with the BHD2 ball head holds it all in place well. I'm a 5' 7" woman, and this is the perfect combo of being sturdy enough, but also compact enough to carry a few miles into the bird blind without a problem. It feels like it will hold up well, I've used it nearly every day for a month now and it seems sturdy enough that I don't have to worry about beating it up a little. The features on it are sturdy, legs twist tight easily and hold solid. I got a short center post for it when I ordered it, and I'm glad I did. The center post that comes with this is huge, which doesn't allow you to get close to ground level for shots. Comes with nice carry case and strap, although I haven't used either in the field yet!

Comments about Induro 8X CT-214 Carbon Fiber Tripod:

I purchased the Induro CT214 tripod about two weeks ago after researching various manufacturers/models vs. price. A component on my Manfrotto 055CXPRO3 carbon fiber tripod had broken: where the center column rotates through a mechanism at the top of the tripod to reposition it from a vertical to a horizontal orientation for low-to-the-ground shots. The Manfrotto is being repaired at no charge under their extended warranty; however the required part was not in stock in the US and is therefore being shipped from Italy – a minimum 4 week turnaround. I did not want to be without a tripod for that length of time. Other than this specific problem I like the Manfrotto and will keep it when the repair is completed; however it will now serve as a backup.

I use a tripod for all of my landscape, macro/close-up, and long exposure photography. During the time that I've used the Induro CT214 it is well designed, solidly constructed, yet lightweight. Adjusting the legs uses a one half-twist of knobs vs. Manfrotto's flip-type levers. The knobs are very easy to use and the legs slide up/down very smoothly. The center column also slides up/down effortlessly with a simple twist of the locking collar. The Induro center column feels "solid"; there's no play when it is partially extended. The column that comes with the CT214 permits you to get low, but not to nearly ground level since the bottom of the column will hit the ground when the legs are spread apart. So, Induro sells a very short column. It's very easy to swap the long column for the much shorter one. I agree with what other reviewers have also noted: for the price, Induro should include the short column as part of their total package. I've decided to use the short column as my default configuration since extending the column on any tripod can impact stability and make the camera more susceptible to vibrations. When my 5D Miii is mounted on my ball head the viewfinder is at a perfect height for me (5' 8") using the short center column. I keep the standard-length column in Induro's carrying case should I need to install it when in the field.

A final comment: a unique advantage to Manfrotto's center column flip design that I have used on several occasions is that I can extend the center column out horizontally to take a straight-down shot without the legs of the tripod interfering with my field of view. The CT214 does not have that design feature but, thus far, I haven't found it to be a problem when (for example) I want to take a straight down shot of, say, a flower.

I've only had this tripod for a few days but it's already seen a lot of action. Used at 35 degrees to photograph the Ship Rock formation in New Mexico and in the heat of the afternoon to take a sweeping panorama of Horseshoe Bend in Page, AZ. This afternoon it goes into the dust and sand of Antelope Canyon and I expect it will do very well. Find it to be stable and easy to work with. Nothing to complain about so far but I'll keep you posted.

Upgraded from a Manfrotto Aluminum tripod which was just too heavy to carry around. I will use my Induro mainly for landscape and macro photography. It seems light enough to hike with yet is very sturdy. I have paired it with a Acratech GP ball head and that makes for a very light package. I debated between a Gitzo (way over priced) and a Manfrotto (didn't like the leg clips for backpacking). The leg locks on this tripod are very easy to undo, little effort required as opposed to the clip locks on some tripods. And the Induro tripod comes with a case and spikes. Seems very well made for a very nice price.

Yes, this tripod is that good. I'm not surprised to see that most people have given it 5 stars. I fell in love as soon as I pulled it out of the box. The fit and finish leaves nothing to be desired. The legs extend smoothly, the twist locks as well as the centre column lock are a pleasure to use, and the hook disk at the base of the centre column is designed in such a way that the legs are offered a lot of protection when closing them. And best of all, the warranty period is extended to 10 years after registration.

If I were to make one complaint it would be the lack of rubber ring under the plate at the top of the centre column to dampen any "fall."

Comments about Induro 8X CT-214 Carbon Fiber Tripod:

Lightweight; legs are sturdy even when expanded to full height. The latches for each leg section work great and are fast and easy to operate. Nice padding on the legs; tool kit with included metal spikes is a nice touch as is the tripod case. Even without the rebate of $ this purchase was an excellent value.

I use this tripod with my 100-400 telephoto with a 2X extender. My other tripods just would not remain stable The Induro is rock solid even when extended Added a ball head to it and the results could not have been better

I bought this tripod to use with my Linhof technikardan 45, and couldn't be happier. I'm traveling around a lot at the moment so I wanted something that was both light and able to hold a 4x5. When I was researching for this tripod I was struggling to find a review that said if it would hold a 4x5 camera that is a similar weight to the Technikardan. So if anyone is having the same worry, I found it to be perfect. I never fully extend the legs, and shoot at about shoulder height. With my shoulder bag on the bottom hook it is very stable. simplistic all the locks and levers are for adjustments, they are so easy to use.

Comments about Induro 8X CT-214 Carbon Fiber Tripod:

This tripod is built very well, has a compact form factor and is extremely stable. I ordered both the CT314 and CT214 as I was undecided in which would better fit my needs. After much consideration, the bulkier size of the 314 meant it had to go back to B&H. I just didn't need the additional size for my set-up. The only downside to the 214 v. 314, other than the increased stability for people with long lenses, is the extended height. I'm 6'1" and with the ballhead attached, I have to lean over. Although this will always be the downside to a compact tripod. But this 214 is an excellent compromise.

Solid, light weight, all expected features. No problem with heavy DSLR and Long and Heavy lens.
