Comments about Induro 8M AT-313 Aluminum Tripod:

I use this with a Gitzo pan/tilt head with mirrorless cameras for still photography. It provides a relatively lightweight and very sturdy support. The simple, classic design is excellent. The twist leg locks are very nice, but they must be tightened with some force to really get the tripod fully stiff - obviously must be careful not to overtighten.

Comments about Induro 8M AT-313 Aluminum Tripod:

I needed a more beefy tripod for my D750(with grip) and the new Nikon 200-500. I considered the heavier 414 but didn't want the extra weight and I coupled it with the Sirui K-30x ball head. They make a great, sturdy and affordable combo. Heavy for hikeing but I've got a Mefoto Carbon Globetrotter for that.

This tripod is definitely sturdy able to support heavy loads. Well built, solid. Heftier than I had expected. Very pleased with it so far. Using a gimbal head and long telephoto lens. Will be digiscoping with this as well.

Comments about Induro 8M AT-313 Aluminum Tripod:

Have only used this a couple of times so far but am really impressed with its solidity. It makes my other 4 tripods seem like beginners. Doing a lot of night photography and wanted a tripod that didn't vibrate and could be set at various heights and angles. Bought the Surui 40x to use with it and am very pleased. Still getting use to the way the leg extensions are utilized as the tighteners need to be unscrewed quite a bit to enable any movement. Happy with purchase.

Comments about Induro 8M AT-313 Aluminum Tripod:

Since 1989 I have been shooting and have always used a cheap tripod. I have been used to using the tripods at [@] then stepped up to the Manfrotto 196xb for awhile. I can say this tripod is night and day difference from those other two tripods I've used. It has no trouble at all with a Photo Clam PC33-NS supporting a 5D w/battery pack and a 24-70L lens. There isn't any movement when the tripod is extended either. I am 6'0 and I found for most shots I will just extend 1 set of the legs instead of two. I do have to move down 3-4" to look through the viewfinder, but it's not bad at all. When the tripod is full extended including the center column it's rather tall (especially with the battery pack and Photo Clam head attached to it).The twisting of the legs are smooth and very easy. I like them much better than the flip or knob twist. Looking at this tripod screams durability compared to my other 3 tripods I've had in the past.I'm not sure how this tripod compares to the more expensive Manfrotto or Gitzo's, etc..., but for the price paid and the features/durability this tripod has I would recommend this to anyone looking for a professional tripod. I use a tripod mainly for landscape shooting, but this would be ideal for a portrait shoot also.I wanted a professional tripod that would be sturdy and would last me a lot longer than the previous ones and I do believe without a doubt I made a great choice!!!!!Pros:- Heavy duty- Well made- Plenty of features for my needs- Smooth actionCons:None

Since I'm going to use this for landscape didn't want to spend a lot. Not sure if I like having to use the allen wrench to adjust the leg position but probably won't have to do that often. Overall, this seems like a nice tripod.

I use this tripod with a gimbal head, 100-400 zoom and canon 7DII primarily for shooting birds in a stationary location. This is no lightweight tripod but a well built, very sturdy unit with good height (I'm 6' and I don't need to extend the legs all the way to get a comfortable height without using the center extension).

The leg extension tighteners are large and easy to grip. So far this has been an outstanding tripod.

Comments about Induro 8M AT-313 Aluminum Tripod:

This feels like a pro-grade tripod, for a very reasonable price. Everything is sturdy metal, thick rubber, etc... no bits of plastic that could snap.

It's a little heavy at 5.8 pounds but since I only use it while driving it's a nonissue, and I like the added stability. It's right in the middle of their weight range... they offer 3 pound and 7 pound versions too.

It has small but important features - weight hook and bubble level. Also the legs only take a half twist to unlock, and you can grab both twist knobs at the same time so it's not too much hassle to set up. It's also very tall (eye height for a 6 foot tall person) without needing the center column, which means more stability.

I'm using with a RRS ballhead, and have taken shake-free images with the 10-second timer using my 7DmkII and a Tamron 150-600mm lens. While this is pretty light for a 600mm lens (4.3 lbs), the camera is unusually heavy for an APS-C type (3 pounds)... basically identical to a full-frame model like a 5DmkIII or D4s. I took pics in fairly still conditions with everything looking pixel sharp at 100% zoom, hopefully it's still stable with a little wind. That's why the weight hook comes in handy, and the fact that you can get ideal height without messing with the center column.

My only complaint is it's easy to start twisting the leg locks in the wrong direction for several turns before you realize you're going the wrong way. You don't have any confusion with the latch-type leg locks. But I can just put an arrow sticker or something on them until my hands get used to twisting the correct direction automatically. Also the fact that it's so tall means that you can't be lazy and just collapse one section of legs, and fit it in your car. You really need to fully collapse it to make it lay across a back seat.

Comments about Induro 8M AT-313 Aluminum Tripod:

Yes, carbon fiber is supposed to be better (weight, stiffness), but aluminum works just fine for me, and it is certainly more affordable. In addition to the desired level of build quality and performance, the AT313 was selected mainly because I am over 6'2" tall, and this unit (with a ball head) enables the camera view finder to be at eye level without raising the center column. Indeed, it is a bit too tall, and I have to retract the bottom legs an inch or two from their full extension in order to get the height just right. It would have been nice to have the bottom leg sections calibrated with rule marks to make setting the overall height easier, but I added small reference marks with white fingernail polish, solving the matter. I mated an Induro BHL3 ball head to the tripod and the combination is very sturdy and stable. With one exception the tripod exceeds my expectations. The exception is that the center column lockdown, even when fully locked, still has a bit of play on its rotational axis when sugnificant torque is applied. In practical terms, this makes no material difference because the amount of torque needed to cause any movement is never actually applied during or between exposures. The folded tripod is rather large and heavy, so carrying it for a hike more than a few miles would be rather tiresome. A shorter hike, however, is easily accomplished, especially with the nice padded case (big enough to keep a ballhead attached) and shoulder strap that comes with the tripod.

Comments about Induro 8M AT-313 Aluminum Tripod:

To date I have had cheap tripods or old hand me downs. This is my first decent quality one. While it is certainly heavier than the $20 tripods I have had in the past, it is amazingly sturdy. My prior tripods had levers to lock the legs in place, this one has twist rings; I am still getting used to which way to twist to lock it, but that will come with use. A nice touch was that it came with spiked feet for use out in the field. It really does go down low too.
                      Very satisfied with this tripod.

Recent owner, after looking at many different tripods I choose this for its durability, height and 26lb weight capacity. I use this for astrophotography and I needed something very sturdy. The build seems very good. I gave this 4 stars since at the time of this review I've only owned it for just over a week
