First, I love Click Elite products. As an avid photographer and outdoor enthusiast, I appreciate the company's stylish designs and rugged materials used in their product line. That's why when I started looking for a small bag to supplement my Clik Elite backpack for short day hikes and around-town excursions I was confident in choosing the Trekker Waist Pack. The Trekker offers flexibility in wearing the pack facing towards your front or back, but having my gear in front of me for easy access was appealing, and the fact that the pack could also be used as a small shoulder bag sold me on the waist pack.

The size of the waist pack was smaller than I expected and it did not protrude uncomfortably from my waist. However, being smaller in size also limits the camera gear that can be carried. The interior camera compartment is well-padded and measures approximately 8"h x 9"w x 5"d. Note the manufacture's exterior dimensions of 8.5" x 11.5" x 8" may be confusing if used to estimate the amount of camera equipment that can be stored. This smaller size is good for compact SLR equipment, but eliminates the possibility of carrying pro-sized camera bodies.

The only negative comment I have on the design is the rain fly cover and bottom compartment that holds it. It is difficult to fit the rain fly into the small Velcro-closing bottom compartment and it makes the pack too bulgy underneath to sit properly. The rain fly can easily be removed and stored in the small front compartment to eliminate this problem.

I ordered this bag with intention to use when riding my motorcycle. I liked the idea of having a shoulder strap and a waist strap on the bag so it would be secured to my body even at high speeds. I liked the gray color rather than black, which gets hot in hot climates. A full frame DSLR with lens attached fits inside if you remove the dividers.
The design idea is good, the material and the padding is good, but there are some very annoying details. I am not sure if it's just my bag or if all of these are the same, but the front and rear wall keep caving in. It appears that the material (cardboard?) that keeps the sides stiff, is too large or sewn in too tight or something. The opening is already asymmetrical and smaller than the bag and having the sides cave in makes it even more frustrating getting the camera in and out.
Adding to the problem, the zipper is placed on the edge of the bag, not on the outside like for example Lowepro bags. Every time you put your hand in the bag, the zipper scratches your skin and the camera.
The front pocket is rather useless, it is flat and curves underneath the bottom of the bag. If you put a pen in the pocket, it will most likely break. I would not put my phone in it.
While it is good to have adjustable straps, there is nowhere to keep the loose ends. Since I intended this bag for motorcycle use, I can not have all these straps flopping around. The shoulder strap is very long and when I adjust it to fit me, the buckle ends up right on the shoulder. This is where the soft pad should be. As a note, I am 5'3".
I would return the bag due to the flaws, but I already cut the tags and tossed them.

Comments about Trekker Waist Pack (Clik Gray):

I purchased this for a D610 with 24-85 in addition to 20mm and 50mm primes. This combination will fit but not well. I ended up returning the waist pack. I would recommend this product for an entry level camera package [i.e small DSLR and two kit lenses.] Over all the pack is very well made. Do be aware if you judge the size by the pictures on the site. The model they show wearing the pack is a EXTREMELY SMALL human. [While I had to pay for return shipping, B&H makes the return process very easy. My account was credited for the return in less than one week including shipping!]

Comments about Trekker Waist Pack (Clik Gray):

I bought this for riding on my bike and taking pics. At first I was afraid it would be too bulky, especially for getting on and off the bike. I kept the tags on and gave it a try. It worked very well, especailly being able to even take pics while still on the bike. Riding I have to turn it to the side or my thighs hit it as I pedal.
It is very well padded, my camera fits well I have the 55-200 lens attached. Maybe room for another very small lens. Front pocket works well for an extra battery and some cards. Things are very tight, but it works well for what I want. As long as you do not carry a lot of gear it is a great bag, very well made. It has a side pocket but I am not interested in that for carrying water or jacket as I carry that on my bike. I cut the tags off and will keep it!!!

Comments about Trekker Waist Pack (Clik Gray):

This is a rugged pack designed for - trekking. It is not an efficient city camera bag. Everything is heavy duty and hence bulky and heavy. It has a place for most everything but it is not easily modified or folded up (waist wings) - it has a commanding presence. All that said, it has good features, design and materials - if you are a trekker.

I use this mainly for work on the field and it's the best thing to help carry my accessories and additional equipment on location shoots. I wish I had purchased this product sooner. It's comfortable to wear and I can move easily without any obstacles. I would highly recommend this camera bag, if you need something for carrying extra cards, batteries, lens, even iPad, this is the perfect bag. You can move comfortably on location, especially if you shoot sports without having to drag a larger bag behind you. After a long day of shooting it doesn't bother your back.

Comments about Trekker Waist Pack (Clik Gray):

Last year wrote about my experience in Spain. Everything stands as written, see below. This time went 12 days thru Britian. The huge plus this year is the built in rain slicker for the bag. In Britian, it rained, who wud of thunk it. We walked around at the Edenburgh Castle in a steady soaking rain. I was so happy that rain slicker was there. It protected the bag very nicely from the rain. I have raised my rating to 5 stars based on my equipment staying dry in all the rain.
This is the best piece of photo equipment that I have ever bought that was not part of a camera system. A must if you travel with your equipment all day. 2 fiends have bought the bag on my recomendation and have been very happy with it.

This is an efficient waist pack. Has a lot of room for all you gear. I carry on it a Lumix GH2, Lumix 20mm f1.7, Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm, Zoom H1 with suspension, Headphones, an extra battery with charger, magic arm, and a lot of small accessories, and I think that there are some extra room. Is a little bulky when is in your waist, but eventually you get used. The only complaint I have is that the zipper waterproof cover is very weak and breaks very easily.

Comments about Trekker Waist Pack (Clik Gray):

So I used this pack at the drag races. I have a Nikon D5200, I knew I would be doing a lot of walking so I didn't want something hanging on my shoulders or around my neck so I opted for this pack which can be worn on your waist or by the shoulder strap. In the inside camera department I had a zoom lens on my camera (55-300) and another lens on the side (16-55mm) and a strap, it was snug but it fit. I had my keys, extra SD cards, cell phone and extra battery in the center pouch compartment. So it held a lot. I could say the pouch could be a little larger but if it was it may not be as comfortable to wear. It was heavy as it was with all the stuff I did have in it. I like how it opens away from you so you can see inside the pouch easily. I like the pouch a lot and hope to get a lot of use out of it. After owning and using this pouch I can say it was a good purchase and would purchase again if I needed to.

Comments about Trekker Waist Pack (Clik Gray):

I bought the bag to avoid neck and shoulder strain from carrying around my camera and accessories. Just returned from a 2 week 1600 mile tour of Spain.
My old Tamarac bag has a long shoulder strap. At the end of the day my neck/shoulder would be sore.

Saw this bag in the catelog and was hopping it sould prevent this strain as it has a large waist strap. The bag was excellent. No strain, even carrying 2 water bottles which fits into the sides. The belt was very sturdy, and no sweat which was a concern. It was warm in Spain. It held my dslr, 2 extra lens in addition to my attached 17-50mm lens, a flash unit. While definitely tight, all fit. Very easy to acces the camera with the flap openning away from the body.
The only reason not a 5 star is the front pocket rather small to hold my filters, extra battery, wipes. A very nice velcro inside slot to hold extra memory cards. The rain cover nice but never needed. Wish the pocket was 1 1/2-2" wider to better hold the extra accessories. Was it, would give a 5 star.
Bottom line is was definitely worth the money. Really happy I took a chance on it. At the end of day, no strain on any body parts which was the sole reason for the purchase. I am 61. Construction quality excellent, this will definitely last a long time.
Saw some cheaper versions that fit on your belt in local stores. Do not even think of them. They pulled on my pants, would have eventually torn the belt loops. No support of the bag loaded. The wide belt that is built in the only way to go.
Never even used the shoulder strap. A built in carry handle when not around your waist.

Wanted a hands free, shoulder strap free bag and this works great! Still a little bulkier than what I'm used to but I am sure I will get used to it. I like it being at my waist, but love the grab handle on top in case I want to put down/pick-up quickly. Straps also tuck in nicely. Still in the "breaking in" phase. Plenty room to grow, good pockets, room for more lenses.

I was able to pack my Canon Rebel, 18-55mm, 55-250mm, Macro lens, extra battery, and fit a bottle of water with no trouble with regards to weight distribution and comfort. I walked around for about 4-5 hours with it and all I had to do was switch shoulders from time to time. It even rained while I was out and the jacket included worked out perfectly. I even forgot to use it for a couple of minutes and my gear was still dry. This pack was a great purchase.

The only thing that I would have liked to make it a 5 star was the front pouch and mesh pockets to be a little bigger. I could fit the plastic water bottle but not my SIG bottle.

Comments about Trekker Waist Pack (Black):

small, fits a camera with a lens (ie nikon d90 and 18-200) plus two additional lenses.

pay attention: big lenses (as the 70-300 vr) are too long to be inserted while connected to the camera.

Comments about Trekker Waist Pack (Black):

Comments about Trekker Waist Pack (Clik Gray):

I use the pack to tote camera (D90 and 18-200 lens) plus flash) with success.

Getting the gear in the pack, plus misc. memory cards, and filters is a tight squeeze, but I didn't want a larger of a fanny pack. There is room for a water bottle and a rain jacket if necessary on the outside of the pack, which was another requirement for me. I will be carrying a wide angle lens as well although I'm unsure as to whether or not it will fit. This pack does not stick out from your back obtrusively. So it's just right!
