I just bought this camera and I am enjoying it already. Its like a mini 7D. I love how the sensor handles noise. And all the advanced features you expect to be there are there with some extras. Now the XXD line gets an artistic twist with articulated screen, flash transmitter, on the go raw processing and fun filters all in a unique feel. And the price is great. I love that it takes SD cards because I have many and that is what I prefer. I can see this camera being a huge hit to students who are looking for a cross between video and still photos.

I also love that the top buttons have single functions rather than dual so you do not get confused of what your pressing and how to operated it quickly.

The only thing that so far bothers me about this camera is the lock button for the mode dial. I never use to accidently turn it, but now it makes it harder to change quickly. Everything else is great to me.

Well I've waited a year and a half to write this review so i can give my best honest opinion from my point of view- an amateur photographer who is highly enthusiastic and is wanting to turn it into a profession.

It is worthy to note I use(ed) my 60D for personal travel photos, minor studio work, some video, low light events (such as parties/clubs, weddings) and most of all sports (soccer, rugby, cricket, surfing, Cycling)

If you are looking to buy this camera, you are probably a beginner/now starting out. If you've owned any other DSLR before and you're thinking of "upgrading" to a 60D STOP RIGHT HERE AND REFFER TO A 7D INSTEAD... the 60D is a great beginners camera but thats it.

I have out grown my 60D way too quickly. I'm just going to lists Pros and cons that I found in a non-geeky camera way:

Pros:
Very easy to learn. up to 6fps, great for beginners. The articulated screen is AWESOME and very durable incase you're wondering. 1.6 crop makes it good for that little extra telephoto capabilities, its surprisingly solid despite the plastic build (I've literally taken my 60D through rain forests, rivers, beaches, on boats, in -0 temps, I shot in the rain countless of times, and it all still works well.. plz keep in mind I did this cuz i have the extended warrantee and im one of those guys who wont mind breaking a camera to get the shot). overall its an awesome little camera that can take some damage...

NOW THE CONS (why I feel as though I've out grown it and ready for a 5D MKIII):

it is wayyyyyyy TOO NOISY at higher ISOs... even starting at ISO 1000. like I mentioned before, I shoot a lot of sports and I need a camer that can handle higher ISOs better so i can use a faster shutter speed. also the 9 auto focus points aren't cutting it for me. I love the Lexar Professional SDHC card that I use (32GB, x400), it buffers well with me shooting RAW s + S JPEG but I think im ready for a CF card or better yet a dual. The sensor in my opinion at these higher ISO speeds gets really unsharp (sorry if im not using the right terms, again im an amateur just giving my own experiences in the easiest way i can). I have a 70-200mm 2.8 non-IS but i use a monopod and while shooting some night time community soccer under decent flood lighting, my shots thought framed pretty good, were terribly noisy, blurry and out of focus... I believe this is due to the bad noise handeling, the low number of auto focus points and the inability to keep the action sharp 1/640+.

If your intentions are like mine, you want to shoot fast action or you work in low lighting, consider another option (more likely around a higher price) but if your budget only permits you at this price and you shoot casually, or in well lit areas, this is a beautiful little camera.

lastly, the kit lens, yuip u guest it, out grew that in a few months. Just like the 60D, its a great little starter lens but if you plan to grow with your camera, you may consider upgrading. My first lens buy was the 50mm 1.4. AWESOME LENS, its a MUST HAVE unless you have more money to burn and you get the L 1.2 (i'v used it and its even more awesome, but idk if the price difference justifies it at this stage.. may be for pros but not now). dont let the fact that its a prime scare you, it will train you to become better and more artistic with your work- i better go write a review for it now instead of chatting up on this one...lol

Comments about Canon EOS 60D DSLR Camera (Body Only):

This is my second EOS 60D. I have used this model to photograph wildlife and landscape scenes. It is easy to use, takes great pictures and is reasonably light weight. I bought a second to carry on a long wildlife trip later this year. I will use a Tamron 150-600 for telephoto on one body and the "kit" Canon 70-300 for shorter shots on the second body. Switching lenses quickly in weather or sandy conditions is not my forte; hence the second camera set-up.

Comments about Canon EOS 60D DSLR Camera (Body Only):

Not only is this camera a stunner in the mid range but it is hundreds below the competition's offerings with this feature set. B&H is the only place to buy your equipment if you want an amazing deal. I researched for months before deciding to order and they made the experience painless.

Comments about Canon EOS 60D DSLR Camera (Body Only):

ordered midday recieved next day! Only downside was that I had to juggle my life to get package since signature was required in person and couldn't release online. But. So far I love it. Shutter is so much faster and quieter than t3i!

I am still getting hang of using it. But it is a good camera thus far!!

Comments about Canon EOS 60D DSLR Camera (Body Only):

This little camera far exceeds its price-range expectation. In fact, after viewing a youtube side-by-side between it and the 70D, though for $ more, the 70D does have some nice added features, the image quality of the 60D is far richer and warmer than those produced by the 70D, as well as that of many other cameras within and above its price range. To me, whether a camera has everything but the "kitchen sink", or, is the most simple, home-made "box" with a pin-hole stuck in it, image "quality", that is to say, the subtle nuances produced during image capture, which may either "speak to you" or not, is the bottom line. My prediction is that once discontinued, this little camera will be lamented. On the downside, along with virtually anyone who might shoot video with this DSLR, I wish that it had a headphone input.

Finding a camera that fit all my needs and expectations have been so hard until I came across this baby! My pictures have NEVER looked better. I am so happy I found a camera that comes out with a crystal clear image and the HD in this camera is beyond words. Being a military brat, being able to take pictures of the Effiel Tower and and Frankensteins Castle in Germany, this camera captured all of the tiny details and beauty within these places. I would recommend this in a heart beat!

Its solidly constructed. Has great features and if you are upgrading from another Canon series camera is very user friendly. The results from my last wedding are amazing. Very happy with the 60D.

After asking for my ID to confirm name on credit card, he suggested I have the camera shipped to my house as opposed to carrying it back on the plane - genius - Didn't have to pay the $+ for sales tax :D

A great Camera that I upgraded from a Panasonic Lumix. It has excellent results and a easy to use features. The Display is sturdier than a lot of other cameras that I have seen and the link that twists the screen is strong. The pictures are better.
That auto flash is a good boon in a DSLR.
                    No bad points ..Cheers!
