Comments about Fader Filters 77mm Mark II Variable Neutral Density Filter:

I use this mostly for video. I like to keep my aperture at a 5.6 and my shutter at a 60 and this is during the day. I don't have to carry a bunch of different NDs around. It's great for run and gun situations such as documentary filmmaking because you can adjust right then and there and be set. I think a fader is a must especially if you want to keep a consistent look and more probability of capturing the unexpected shot. It's frustrating when your missing good action because you were putting on or taking off a filter just to get a proper exposure and your settings set.

The only problem I've had is when I close down/fade down too much it will begin to vignette. But that can be fixed by opening up just a bit.

Comments about Fader Filters 77mm Mark II Variable Neutral Density Filter:

This is the 2nd Fader I've purchased of this brand. The first one still works perfect, but I used multiple cameras outdoors for weddings and films, and needed a second fader. The 8stops they provide, allow me to shoot at 160 ISO with Fstop of 1.4 in Bright Sunlight!!!!

I'm A DSLR filmmaker and I couldn't shoot any quality films outdoors without these faders.

Comments about Fader Filters 77mm Mark II Variable Neutral Density Filter:

Works well with the Canon 50mm and 85mm Lenses. It will never work at 100% on a 24mm, or a 11-16mm, but it stills works great for what this was expected. i bought this bigger so i use different step up rings to save money.

    MARK II VARIABLE ND FILTER

Comments about Fader Filters 77mm Mark II Variable Neutral Density Filter:

I recieved the filter in the post about a week ago, so far it has been great.
There is a color shift when using the filter but a little color correction will sort it out if you have the time. Also, it seems like the image is a little less sharp but with the price difference in the nicer variable ND filters it is suitable for the job.

Comments about Fader Filters 77mm Mark II Variable Neutral Density Filter:

I bought this filter for use on some of my canon lenses. This filter is so well built. The glass is beautiful and allows you to still get great images when it is stopped down. Great for video. Not quite as necessary for photography.

Something to remember is that the filter fits a 77mm lens but it is actually larger than 77mm. Once this is on you can no longer put the lens cap on it. It is also difficult to use with the Canon lens hoods.
