I wanted to buy a rolling case to store my DLSR and all the goodies, but I didn't want to have to take out a loan to do so. When I caught this bag on sale at B&H, it fit the bill nicely.

The main feature I like is that the compartments are all dividable and adjustable...and there are many. So, in effect, you can make this accommodate pretty much whatever gadgets you want to take along with you. In total, there are 12 "holes" to put things in, each of which can be adjusted. It also comes with straps to put over the compartments, so you can avoid something (like an expensive lens) falling out when you open the bag.

It is not what I would call small in size, but it should easily fit inside overhead compartments on narrow body aircraft. Without the extension utilized, it measures 18" tall, 14.5" wide, and 10" deep.

The material is very solid, and it has a two large external pockets for stuffing things in (like tickets and passports). However, this solid construction and the multitude of compartments come at a tradeoff….this case is fairly heavy, even when empty. I weighed it for the sake of this review, and it came in right at 11 pounds.

The only real negative I have regarding its design are the two internal pouches it has underneath the front cover. The material is plastic, and seems to be of a cheap plastic at that.

One really cool feature is that the entire compartmental unit can be lifted out, so you can utilize it as just an everyday rolling bag if you prefer.

What I am not too sure about is how long this bag will hold up with serious, professional type use, but that is not what I bought it for. I will probably only use it once or twice per year, when I travel and want to bring everything along with me and don't want the strain of a backpack or a sling design. For that purpose, I don't think you can beat this Domke bag.

Overall the product is effective but with any other products there's a couple of pros and cons.

Pros

Great rollers
Useable dividers and tons of pockets to store your gears
Durable

Cons

Tips over when bottom end not heavy enough.
Front pockets for ease of access should have lockable device

I use it for our wedding business and it does the job, i haven't traveled with it on destination weddings but its small enough to be a carry on. Its my first roller bag and overall i am satisfied, i just have to remember to place something heavy at the bottom so it won't tip forward.

      Comments about Domke Rolling Propack 217 (14 x 10 x 17.5", Black):

This can easily be carried with either of the
2 handles in addition to the rolling feature.
Fully loaded though, it tends to be top heavy &
will not stand on the wheels by itself. Other than that, it is a great case. Too bad right after I
purchased it, they discontinued it. I was going to purchase a second one.

          Comments about Domke Rolling Propack 217 (14 x 10 x 17.5", Black):

I just used this at an event and it was great.

It has plenty of room inside the bag, including for accessories, though I have not expanded it.

This rolling bag is much easier than a knapsack, which was my previous carry-all. Besides for its fairly generous capacity, I also keep some accessories like a tripod and the like leaning against the handle as I roll the bag, which is very convenient and much easier on my back than carrying a knapsack and tripod.

For events, this is my go-to bag. It holds two bodies and a bunch of accessories and lenses and flashes.

For leisure trips where I need more mobility and less gear, I use either a knapsack or shoulder bag.

The biggest complaint I have with the bag, though it's still a minor one, is that the bag will topple forward somewhat easily once you've filled it up. I don't have that much weight in the outside pockets, though I do have the camera with lens mounted in the top of the bag, packed facing down, so it could be that packing it on the bottom facing up would alleviate the issue at least somewhat.

I am also not all that thrilled with the way they arranged the accessory pockets, both inside and out, but it's done well and I make it work. Beneath the two flaps you see in front are actually four pockets. On the top half, both are zippered, and I use these to store batteries, diffusers, and more. On the bottom half, there are also two pockets, one zippered and one secured only by velcro but expandable. In the expandable velcro pocket, I store things like ExpoDiscs and rain covers. In the zippered pocket behind it, I store flash modifiers like a Lumiquest event kit and a Westcott mini-softbox as well as a Westcott umbrella mount and flash light-stand adapter.

This bag saved me from taking 3 different camera and gear bags! I was able to fit all my lenses, my camera, speed flashes, lap top, and other accessories that I need for a shoot. I love the padding on this bag and all of the other pockets. I haven't encountered any problems with this bag. But I can say that it is great for traveling, and on set. I recommend this bag to any photographer that takes 1-2 cameras and more than 2-3 lenses. The bag has a lot if room for the small stuff too (batteries, cleaning kits, etc.)

I would definitely recommend this bag.

I need to travel with my camera gear and just switched from a backpack camera bag to this Domke rolling case. A breeze going through airports now. Once at a site with the top opened you can easily see and access cameras, lenses, etc. Only drawback so far is that bag will not fit in the tiny overheads in CRJ200. Lots of padded sections to keep everything separated. Plenty of extra room for the rest of my inspection equipment. Built solid.

I needed a rolling pack that would hold all my camera gear at weddings and be easy for me to switch lenses. This pro pack works great. Holds my 2 DSLR camera's, 2 flashes, 70-200mm, 2 50mm's, 100mm, 35mm, 16-35mm and numerous of cards, batteries, etc. I'm 4'11 and it can get a little heavy when I have to pick it up.... but it's better than bringing 3 bags to lug all my gear.

Another thing, if the bottom is too light it will tip over... I usually never sit it upright though. However, gear would still be protected if it did fall over.

I bought this bag so I could have everything in one place. I don't usually take everything that I have when I take my camera but I was tired of storing stuff in multiple bags or on the shelf. The construction quality is really good just like a lot of other bags like this. However the $ price tag on this is what really makes it. You will pay over $200 for other bags from other companies.

Nice, spacious. Fits everything. 2 bodies, 5 lenses, flash, etc. Nice snug fit. Love that it has lots of pockets for accessories.

Overall - thrilled. For the price - it's way more than expected.

Its not often I have bought a great, quality product with all the bells and whistle,s for such a low price. I would have paid more and still have been 100% happy. As a travelling photographer I took this bag up to the Torres Straits . This bag held all my gear , 2 x cameras , 3 x lenses , 2 x flashes. With many secure pockets for all accessories. I did'nt need my hand bag , just popped all my personals in the secure front zip / velcro pockets. 10/10 .

I use it to pack my Mamiya RZ II kit and it all fits nicely, and is well protected by the inside padding system.
                            Really happy with my purchase.

I use the bag as a professional photographer, traveling and shooting weddings,it has substantial room for ALL my gear, including 3 camera bodies,5 lenses, 3 flashes and small items such as card holders, batteries and etc. The compartments are roomy and organize items well; although I haven't used it, there is a compartment that would work well for my 17" laptop, overall I am extremely happy with the bag and know that it will hold up to Domke standards as well as my own. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it wants to tip over when standing upright.

For the cost I had expectations that the bag would feel cheap, especially the wheels, and the thickness of the padding. I was way wrong. The wheels aren't as durable as my Lowepro X150, but they are very close. The padding on the inside features removable and customizable velcro-based dividers, and they are almost exactly the same as my Lowepro. (keep in mind I paid over [$] for my other bag).I'm currently using the Domke for my lighting gear, but I would have no problem packing it with my D3S and my D700 and lenses. This is an incredible bag for the cost and I would absolutely reccommend it.
