Choose the 150 AW if you know what camera gear you are willing to carry. If you want to travel lightly then get this one. I can fit my 5D mark II with 35L mounted and a 135L including a 430ex II speedlite. I like the placement of the tripod strap. I prefer attaching my tripod to the side rather than the back. The rain cover is very useful if you shoot outside. On the top compartment I can fit a Rode videoMic pro external mic and a set of Bose headphones. You'll find a few hidden pockets inside this bag that aren't mentioned which surprised me! I can't find any fault in this bag. I found the right one that caters to my needs.

The build quality of the backpack is good. The straps are comfortable to wear, and the backpack doesn't stick out too far from my back. I have used the pack on one shoot so far and it was easy to grab things when I needed them. It's a small thing, but the loops on the zippers were easy to grab, and the zippers work well. One downside is there doesn't seem to be enough room for the camera. I have a GH4 which has a really small body, but the eyepiece presses against the outside flap when it is zipped closed. It worries me that a hard bump will damage it, and I'm not sure a large camera like a 5D MkIII would even fit.

Comments about Lowepro DSLR Video Fastpack 150 AW (Black):

This is the first bag I bought, since getting back into photography. It fits my Nikon D750 with the 24-120 lens attached (but not the battery grip,) several batteries (and charger,) and a Velbon aluminum tripod. It also carries a Hoya case with 4 filters, an iPad in the deep pocket, and has room for securing small extras, like a lens brush, small pad, a wallet and keys. Not really enough room for a flash or extra lenses, but if you want to carry light, and you're not worried about shooting at night or changing lenses... I highly recommend this bag. Looking for a larger one, but this one will still get plenty of use.

Comments about Lowepro DSLR Video Fastpack 150 AW (Black):

I was looking for a small, well-padded backpack to transport a modest set of gear. This bag fits the bill nicely. I am able to transport a D750 with a big 35mm on it, a flash, triggers, and an old 60mm macro, all in the padded compartment. The pocket layout is very thoughtful, and the tripod pocket/hanger system works well enough.

I also like that it's very plain looking. I often shoot at night, and sometimes in dodgy places. Therefore I'm happy the logo isn't huge, and is stitched in the same color as the bag itself.

I'm using it in an urban environment -- navigating by transit and on foot -- so I can't say if it's comfortable enough for real hiking.

The side opening is useful, but I would prefer it were on the opposite side. This is my only gripe.

Comments about Lowepro DSLR Video Fastpack 150 AW (Black):

First and fore most this is a superb camera backpack.

I set out looking for a new camera bag with the hopes of finding something small, sleek, not too bulky, and rational with useful practicality in mind. Well after months of searching I found the right bag!! I got this bag primarily as a day bag with quick access to my camera for short urban or rural hiking in mind. I wanted to carry a mirrorless camera with lens as well as my dslr with a lens, as well as batteries, cables, meters etc. But most importantly a small tripod. This bag met all of my criteria and then some, there is even room for my 13.3" laptop or iPad!

The bag itself is padded very well. The edges are very sturdy, even when its loaded down with gear. The quality is top notch on the fabric material, straps, zippers, and clips.

I have never owned a Lowepro product before but I will seriously consider buying from them again. They really know what they are doing. I am super satisfied and I want to say thank you to the makers for this awesome bag.

Also, just note the quick access to the camera is most effective if you swing the bag around on your left shoulder and pull the camera out with your right hand. A similar bag had the quick camera access on the opposite side of the bag making it more suited for left handed people, but not myself. Thats another reason I choose this bag.

I needed a bag that would hold my camera and its accessories while traveling abroad. I was able to organize everything easily and include my papers that would have been in a separate bag. During one of my days abroad it rained terribly and being that their is a rain cover nothing in the bag was affected by the down pour. I am very satisfied with the construction of the bag and all the extra fasteners to secure each pocket.

Comments about Lowepro DSLR Video Fastpack 150 AW (Black):

I spent hours looking for the right bag, and this one was totally the right choice. It's just big enough to fit my 13" laptop, a camera & an extra lens, but still slim and small. It'll be a great travel bag for carrying just what I need in a day.

The one small downside to this bag is the underutilized space in some places that could have had extra pockets or D-rings. Not enough of a downside for it to lose any stars though, still a great bag!

This bag is perfect for what i was looking for. I carry a Cannon 700D with a 55 attached, a 210, a Zoom H4n, and a few lens accessories in the lower compartment. Above, I carry all my audio accessories and cables. The laptop compartment is perfect for my iPad and has ample room for a notebook or other flat pieces to carry as well. I keep a small tripod attached to the side as well. The straps are comfortable, everything stays secure, and the easy access are makes it perfect for on-the-go shooting. This was a great purchase that I would recommend for the size/price.

It's hard to summarize how good this bag is. The design can accomodate so much gear it's mind blowing. I own just over 12 different bags ranging from high-tech F-Stop mountain backpacks to little shoulder pouches to nanuk cases. But this particular bag is the one I take 80% of the time. You can fit a Mamiya 7II with one extra lens, a ton of 120 film, your lunch, lots of small accessories a small to medium size tripod and a point and shoot OR a sony A7s, with 3 small slr prime lenses + the one attached + an a6000, 5 batteries, the charger, a bunch of filters for video, a video tripod and maybe an external monitor or recorder if you need it. The camera section is easily accessible. No complaints whatsoever. Worth every dollar.

Easy to access camera and great protective padding. I have a Nikon D40 with my Tamron 70-300mm lens attached and it fits just perfectly. I also have room for my Nikon 18-55mm lens, extra batteries, cables, and charger in the main compartment.

The top storage compartment is a little on the smaller size, but I didn't want to get the larger version of this bag as I felt it would look too bulky on my back. For my recent vacation, I was still able to fit wallet, sunglasses, cleaning kit, phone, small snacks, etc. Two average-sized hardcover books fit in the laptop compartment with ease.

Overall, it's a great bag that protects my gear and allows me to have some extra storage for small items I would otherwise have to carry in a purse. I can quickly access my camera and it's comfortable to carry all day. Highly recommend it.

I bought this as an alternative to much larger backpack for shorter trips with less equipment. So far I am not disappointed. Very good quality, no visible signs of use after several months and many trips. The access to the camera is very comfortable. No problem to store A77, flash and a second lens - but only if it is not too big in diameter.

I was looking for a bag to hold:

                      - Nikon D700 + 24-70 2.8
                      - Wide angle lens
                      - flash
                      - CF cards/accessories
                      - water bottle
                      - laptop/tablet

I have the AW 250, but when I travel and want to pack light, it's just a tad too big.

This bag easily fits all of the above. It would be nice if I could attach a small tripod and a water bottle at the same time (you can only do one or the other), but I can certainly live with that one omission.

Overall, I really like this bag.

I was in the market for a long time searching for a smaller backpack that can fit a 13" laptop. If you are searching, you can end your search. I have a small kit, consisting of a T4i with the 18-55 STM lens + extra battery +several SD cards. I knew that if I got the larger backpack, the 250, I wouldn't use it because I like to travel light. I could see this backpack fitting an additional 2 lenses. If you know your gear and are confident that you can be limited to a smaller kit, get this backpack!

                      Some notes.
One thing I want to mention is the laptop compartment is a bit tight. I have the 2013 Macbook Air and it fits easily, but a Macbook Pro or a PC will definitely be a tight fit.
Also one thing that happens when I wear the backpack is the straps do not rest flush on my chest. I'm not sure if its because I haven't broken it in yet or this is how it works, but either way I can live with it.

I wanted a camera to fit:

                          - Nikon D700 (without grip) with attached 24-70 2.8
                          - 18-35 wide angle lens.
                          - Flash
                          - Water bottle

All of the items above fit easily into the bag. There is also a laptop sleeve and an additional top compartment for accessories/personal items.

The weight is well distributed. The 24-70 is a beast, but doesn't seem to bad in the bag.

I just got it so I can't speak for durability, but all of my previous Lowepro bags have been through the ringer so I assume this one will last as well.

My only wish would be to be able to attach a small tripod + a water bottle at the same time. Right now, you have to pick one or the other. But I can live with that.

I looked for a while for packs under a $100 that had a combination of a few features, it was the only one I could find with all of them. Has a side load camera compartment for quick access, a tripod holder, a laptop compartment and an extra place for other stuff. I love it! It is very well made and very well thought out. The all weather cover comes in handy and is really easy to get to. I have already used it a few times and have only had the bag a few weeks.

This is a great backpack for the street photographer/videographer. I use it as a photographer. I bought it because it looks great, it's black and small enough to carry around. It also has a thing for the tripod which is a plus. It holds my Canon 6D with a 17-40 and 50 mm. The top part of the backpack holds snacks and other misc stuff. I'm just bummed it doesn't have a chest strap but that's a small issue.
