Most of my comments below confirm what others have written about this lens. No auto-focus but as others have mentioned, keeping it set to near infinity does the trick for most shots. Likewise, for the price I was very surprised at how well built it truly is… no issue getting it on or off my cameras either. The colours produced are likewise impressive and it really gives a proper 180 degree view… so much so that I need to be more aware of the neckstrap and my hands and feet when shooting. I used to own the Pentax 10-17 and this Bower/Samyang/Rokinon lens has reminded me what fun can be had playing with the distortion and extreme perspective.

You have to like fisheye photographs to own one of these so one should consider the cost/quality when considering. Optical quality is fair but better than the Olympus bodycap fisheye which I also own, but the image from the Bower is a true fisheye while the Olympus delivers more moderately bowed image.

This one has no electronics so not only is it a fully manual lens but your camera will always ask about focal length when starting up. The Bower is apparently the same as both the Rokinon and Samyang with a different name. I don't know if these other more expensive lenses "talk" to the camera for the extra money.

I almost returned this one, but I've been having too much fun with it on balance.

Comments about Bower 7.5mm f/3.5 Fisheye Lens for Micro 4/3 Cameras (Black):

This little lens is a very valuable asset to my M43 kit. Even with the 7-14 f4 (Panasonic Lumix), the Bower 7mm fisheye increases the amount of fun taking pictures can offer. As a retired pro photographer, converting to the M43 system was a no brainer & having this fisheye makes photography fun again.I get to use the hyperfocal distance & manual focusing again. It is sharp, lightweight, & for the money, cannot be beat. The Olympus OMD (EM-1 & EM-5) series of cameras do require a few adjustments, ie: manual focus & turn off IS, but focusing & hand holding is no problem.

Comments about Bower 7.5mm f/3.5 Fisheye Lens for Micro 4/3 Cameras (Black):

Maybe 4.5 stars for value and 3.5 stars for image quality ... netting out to 4.I doubt I'd invest big $$$ in a fisheye, but at these prices, the Rokinon/Bower/Samyang fisheye is a great learning tool and is improving my shot discipline in the process. I'm getting some good shots with it, and defishing in Adobe LR is opening up some possibilities. What bugs me about this lens is that it renders as if you've turned the sharpening up too much. My wife says the lens "looks digital" and hates everything I do with it.Some of my complaints may well be due to needing to master LR's finer techniques in order to get the best out of it (I shoot Raw with an Oly O-MD E-M1).Perhaps my expectations were unreasonable and in part set by the rendering of their 12mm/2.0 lens which is much more to my taste. I'd put the 12/2.0's image quality and rendering right up there with my Oly 12-40/2.8 Pro. Still I'm enjoying this lens a great deal. If I didn't own an Olympus 12-40/2.8 Pro, I'd probably have kept the Rokinon 12 instead of returning it for the fisheye. As I play with this lens more, I'll post updates on my rendering "issues". I may well be too spoiled by my Pan/Leica 25/1.4, Oly 12-40/2.8, and the returned Rokinon 12/2.0.The attached photos were shot Raw, and exported to .jpg via Lightroom with no adjustments or defishing, in to take my "heavy hand" out of the equation. You could do a whole lot worse than this lens, and I suspect that I'll be reporting back on its charms as I play with the shots in Lightroom.

If you are like I was when first considering this lens, i.e. hesitant, then I urge you to buy this lens. My original thinking was that this is an off-brand, non-OEM lens, with no AF, and a low price tag, so probably it was not the best. However, at this time, there are limited choices for ultrawide angle m4/3. So I took the plunge and boy was I ever pleasantly surprised. This is a sharp, well-made lens. You will not have to be overly concerned about focus most of the time especially at 7.5mm on a m4/3 sensor. It takes great photos at a very reasonable price which is more than can be said for most m4/3 lenses.

Comments about Bower 7.5mm f/3.5 Fisheye Lens for Micro 4/3 Cameras (Black):

For the price it is a great fisheye lens and certainly one of the least expensive ways to get wide shots using the full micro four-thirds sensor. Focusing up close can be a little tricky, but architecture/landscape will not be an issue whatsoever. Not the fastest lens, but certainly useable in lower light. Seems well built, but time will be the judge of its durability.

I've really enjoyed using it and it is definitely a ton of fun.

Comments about Bower 7.5mm f/3.5 Fisheye Lens for Micro 4/3 Cameras (Black):

An amazing lens at this price level. It adds something new to my current kit of micro four third lenses.

The wide angle of view and fisheye distortion can be used creatively and it is relatively easy to "de-fish" the images to produce super wide angle rectilinear photos, as well.

It is very sharp and of course, as a super wide angle, it provided great depth of field. The focusing is even close enough to do some near-macro photos.

However, manual focusing, when needed, is a bear on this lens. The focus ring is way too tight. it's relatively small and it is not knurled all the way around. Normally, manual focus lenses require ounces of force to focus. This lens needs pounds of force, to the point that it is nigh-impossible to turn the focus ring and look through a viewfinder at the same time. This is the one thing keeping this from being a 5-star review.

This lens is a lot of fun and I think is a bargain. It is very well made, and the optics are sharp corner to corner. The one thing I would I change is the focus ring; it is very heavily dampened to the point that it is too stiff to be operated easily and quickly. But I can live with this and would still recommend this lens with the one caveat. Of course, it's fully manual as well, but I would assume anyone considering this piece would know that.

This lens fits perfectly on my Lumix GX7 and it's lots of fun playing with the unexpected way the lens handles vertical and horizontal elements within the frame. And since the lens is completely manual I'm having fun relearning my almost extinct exposure and focusing skills. A very sharp lens with many useful applications. A plus are the included snap-on lens cap and the velveteen storage bag.

A previous reviewer said the lens was not 180° but that is incorrect. The lens has a 180° diagonal view, not horizontal.

It fit snugly but not too tight, just the same as my Olympus and Panasonic lenses.

Good if you want to play with ultra wide photography but don't want to spend $700. Don't let the lack of auto-focus discourage you. It has such a huge depth of field you rarely need to set it to anything other than at or near infinity.

Lots of positive reviews of this lens on camera sites. The Rokinon and Samyang versions are the same lens.

Great lens for landscapes. Very sharp all the way around. Set it on infinity and f/8 and I'm set for nearly anything. Lack of autofocus is not an issue. I'm surprised that the description says this lens captures 180° because it's really closer to 160°. That's still a really wide angle...it's just misleading. Wish it was easier to buy a spare lens cap. I finally found one with a Samyang label out of Hong Kong.

I waited a bit to review this, as I wanted to put it through its paces. It's an easy to use, high quality lens, excellent construction, solid mount on my Olympus EPl2 and OMD EM10 cameras. Don't let the "manual lens" moniker scare you. You can set the lens aperature at slightly less than infinity, and shoot auto to your heart's content. Or go full manual and have a blast with it. Crisp photos. Highly satisfied! Great price on this lens from B&H. Same exact lens as Samyang and Rokinon, but less money. Score!

Comments about Bower 7.5mm f/3.5 Fisheye Lens for Micro 4/3 Cameras (Black):

Great little lens, good built quality. Nice thing about micro 4/3 format is stopping down to f5.6 gives the same depth of field as f11 on full frame, so you can shoot lower ISO at the same shutter speed...and if you have a camera with in body image stabilization, you are gold! Only issue is there is no depth of field scale.

Comments about Bower 7.5mm f/3.5 Fisheye Lens for Micro 4/3 Cameras (Black):

I bought the Bower 7.5mm f3.5 as a wide-angle lens for my Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera. I think maybe the ideal wide-angle lens for the BMCC may be a 9mm lens. For the money I went with the 7.5. At first glance the 7.5mm Bower was too wide. On the BMCC with it's Super16 sensor it is not a fisheye lens though its really wide, super wide with typical edge distortions but has a place in my arsenal of lenses. It's almost GoPro wide if you know what I mean but not that wide. The workmanship is excellent, the feel of the lens is quite nice. Very precision. Very sharp. The mount is perfectly snug, the iris and focus both rotate as they should, very smoothly. I have nothing negative to say about this lens, I just wish it was a 9mm but I knew it wasn't going in. If you are wanting a super wide manual MFT lens for your BMCC this is one to consider.

Ok Let's go through some breakdownsSharpness: Very good, but requires a big monitor or eyepiece to eyeball it just right.Build: High quality feel, the only problem is that it seems a little tight on my BMPCC m4/3 mount, I feel like i'm grinding it in. And it's made of plastic components, not metal. If you have a high crop factor sensor, this will get you very wide, but you'll have to deal with fish-eye distortion around the edges.

Comments about Bower 7.5mm f/3.5 Fisheye Lens for Micro 4/3 Cameras (Black):
