I got this as a (very) cheap alternative to a long lens, mostly for identifying birds and butterflies in the field. I knew it wouldn't be easy, and it's not. There's no way to stop down the aperture, so your depth of field is paper thin. Added to the fact that you have to manually focus using the screen on the 4/3 camera, it's a bit of a challenge. Getting strong reading glasses at the market helps, since it magnifies the screen for better focus. By bracketing focus, it's possible to get excellent shots, especially close-ups of butterflies and nearby birds (nearby objects are easier to focus since you can better see detail). The thing wobbles a bit, but there aren't any light leaks and it does seem to keep the lens perpendicular to the sensor plane.Image shot with Canon 70-200 & adapter

I use this with my BMPCC. It works as advertised. It is a "dumb" adapter. There is no iris control with modern lenses. I had this idea that I could adapt Nikon Ai-S lenses to EF and then to MFT. Well, the Fotodiox el cheapo adapter does not play nice with this adapter, so that was a bust. It is well built. It serves a purpose, but the Metabones speedbooster adapter for the camera is far better. It has been demoted to a back up adapter. If you want to use this product make sure to get a variable ND filter for you lenses so you have some control over your images.

Shooting mainly video on a Panasonic GH4 through a Canon 28-300 L. Does exactly what it needs to, don't expect anything magical, just a coupler for EF lenses to a MFT mount. Goodbye AF, goodbye IS, goodbye aperture, hello $ lens solution.

Comments about Vello Canon EF/EF-S Lens to Micro Four Thirds Camera Adapter:

If you want an adapter for video shoots and need to pull focus, this adapter isn't going to work. It allows your lens shift all over the place, making for a large bump in the footage every time you rack focus. On set I had to tape down the lens to stop it from shifting... Not very professional looking for my clients, but it worked in a pinch.........

I use this as an adapter for my Blackmagic Cinema Pocket Camera which allows me to use my Canon mount Rokinon Cine Lenses. Since the lenses are fully manual, I can manage the aperture and focus with no electronics. For me it is a perfect solution for using these lenses.

Comments about Vello Canon EF/EF-S Lens to Micro Four Thirds Camera Adapter:

I use this adapter to connect my cinema lenses with Canon EF mount to my mft bmpcc. The cinema lenses all have manual focus and aperture rings so this adapter was a great purchase since I had no need for electronic connection to my lenses.

It seems sturdy enough and it fits snugly and securely with my canon and Rokinon lenses as well as with the bmpcc. Of course, there is the issue of sensor crop, which this adapter does nothing for, but its better than not being able to use any of this expensive glass I have laying around.

It does what it is supposed to do and for the price, its well worth the investment!

I use the adapter to use a a canon EF cinema lense on my 4/3rds GH3. A lense we bought to use on our canon cameras but am excited to use on my GH3 because of its higher data rate and awesome video features. I have been editing a lot and haven't been able to test the lense, which definitely goes through a crop factor with the adapter, fully, but am excited to do so and will consider the combination carefully for my next project. Seems to work great though. Not sure why there are adapters that are 10 times more expensive that do the same thing when everything is manual anyway.

I had my Canon EF mount lenses. I wanted to use with my Panasonic Lumix GH2 4/3 mount but couldn't. Then I purchased this adapter and works perfectly both with video and stills. Now I can make use of my 150-500mm lens for wildlife photography and videos. Thanks to B&H for making available. But the only thing is that it has no other functions on it.
