Comments about FinePix F770EXR Digital Camera (Red):

Before this camera I had the F200EXR. This one is much better; pictures are excellent. It has quite some extras that are worthwhile (panoramic shots, auto bracketing, etc). However, I have problems using the geotagging. It does not locate position indoors (expected) but it is not very good in acquiring GPS data outdoors. This one has a manually ejected flash unit, you have to eject it to use autoflash (or other modes); I found it inconvenient. It also is somewhat flimsy. You have to be careful not to break it when closing.

Comments about FinePix F770EXR Digital Camera (Red):

Awesome, best compact i have owned. Spent a lot of time researching pros & cons of all brands. In the end settled on this model and was not disappointed. I did get an extra battery as many review mentioned battery life, especially on video was poor. A day at Disney drained the battery before the nighttime fireworks, so the second battery came in handy, i only used the second battery once on a 10 day sight seeing vacation. Taking photos while videoing fireworks was amazing. Zoom is awesome, photos and features. Panoramic feature was terrific like a small video, no more piecing shots together on or off camera, sometimes speed was sensitive to the panning but you get the hang of it after a while. Photo quality is great, features & zoom great. I hardly got the DSLR out of the bag, took about 1000 photos on this camera and about 40 on the DSLR.

Comments about FinePix F770EXR Digital Camera (Black):

I purchased this camera for paranormal investigations. Yes, I needed to take photos in low light conditions and get clear crisp photos without using the flash.Right out of the box with the EXR setting I took photos of my basement with available light after 7 PM. The photos turned out great. I have tried the night settings both handheld and on the tripod and was pleasently pleased with the results. The P, S, A, M settings give you a lot of control over the camera with the menu settings. But keep in mind this is a compact camera not a DSLR.This camera takes clear photos of the family even catching the motion in doors under light bulb lights. The colors were true and not washed out.Outside you can get close ups of bees in the flowers catching the fine details of the bees with a nice blurred backgrounds. The double exposure setting is very interesting I was able to put a friends head inside a crystal ball. This camera with serve you well if you get to know the settings needed to work in various lighting conditions. The GPS feature posted the location of my living room as the university art gallery. The University Art gallery is 3/4 of a mile from my home. Hope the GPS improves with future downloads. For now I turned it off.FujiFilm has produced a winner with this long 500mm lens I will not miss a shot because this camera fits in my pocket.

I love photography and I found that I needed a more compact camera that I could carry in my purse when it wasn't practical to carry my SLR. This camera foots the bill perfectly. I love how it fits in my hand, I love the 20x zoom, It takes awesome pictures and panoramics.

Comments about FinePix F770EXR Digital Camera (Red):

I bought this camera to carry in my bag everyday and for a cruise I'm going on. So far it has been a great camera. I usually use a Canon DSLR, so I was looking for a point and shoot that had Manual functions and that would shoot RAW. This one does both and has and excellent 20x zoom. I have shot landscapes, portraits, macro, long exposures with good results. I have only found a couple cons: Some software doesn't support RAW with this camera, soon to be fixed, the battery door is a little flimsy and the pop up flash is kind of delicate. Other than that it's well worth the money.

Comments about FinePix F770EXR Digital Camera (Black):

Fujifilm – Manufacturer of film and professional Medium format cameras
I am shooting with Canon and Nikon SLR cameras for about 12 years and always wanted small compact digital camera for travelling, everyday snapshots or even some nice photographs which won't get printed. I am sure Nikon and Canon produce reasonable compact cameras but I never like them personally. This Fujifilm Finepix 770 is exactly what I am looking for. Strong body, enough resolution, wide zoom range and especially picture profiles – Velvia and Provia which are 2 famous slide films also produced by Fujifilm. I am using this film especially Velvia with my medium format Hasselblad and I want to keep similar look also from my small compact. Fujifilm looks for its customers and these treats in form of film type simulations are what I was looking for. GPS is also something extra and overall image quality is higher in my opinion than other brands offer in same camera price range and class.
I was planning to buy Finepix 660 than 750 and now finally 770 became available and has even better features so it was worth to wait.

Comments about FinePix F770EXR Digital Camera (Black):

Extremely usable, portable, small camera. Fits in a pocket and is always ready to shoot.

The 20x allows me to take close-up shots as never before. (I have not begun to explore how well it can enlarge beyond that – stay tuned.) The macro feature is very impressive, once I learned to be patient with it (takes a bit longer to focus).

It is a little heavy in my pocket; my shirt sags (I think I need a case of some sort). Battery runs down in less than a day, and then you're done shooting unless you have a replacement on hand.

There are many uses still to be explored: RAW quality, video. But it looks very promising. This is gonna be fun!

Comments about FinePix F770EXR Digital Camera (Black):

I do mainly travel photography, so this little camera is great, with a wide focal length range. It performs well throughout that range, it seems after shooting a few hundred frames. There is a significant learning curve involved, but the controls are very intuitive, and once mastered, fairly easy to remember. The autofocus works well. The EXR auto is so effective that I leave the camera there most of the time, but switch to P if I need to use exposure compensation, which is quite easy to do. The HDR feature works well. The smallest aperture at wide angle is F10, but gives pretty darned good depth of field. All exposure modes, including manual, are fairly easy to learn and use. The "scene" modes are varied and fun to use. Macro works well. The camera fits well in a pocket, but is a bit heavy at 8.2 oz. But when compared to a DSLR, can't complain. So far, I think it is outperforming my Pentax KD20.

When trying to zoom in on a butterfly flitting around,I had trouble following it, and missed having the viewfinder on my DSLR. However, I managed to shoot a great blue heron at about 50 yards in low light with full zoom this morning, and even with a shutter speed of 1/10, got a decent image handheld - so the image stabilization works well.

I haven't used video much, but it seems to work well when zooming autofocus is set to continuous. The audio is not very good, though.

One caution - the RAW images are in a *.RAF file format, which I can't open with Photoshop Elements 9 - would have to update to PES 10. Fuji provides Silkypix RAW converter with the camera, but if you're used to Photoshop, you'll be disappointed in it.
