Comments about Lexar 128GB CompactFlash Memory Card Professional 1000x UDMA:

I need the extra capacity of this card for my photography work. I've been in situations in which several 64gb cards put me in a dilemma. I'm in the middle of an important shoot and the 64gb cards run out of capacity. Usually, this happens at the worst possible time. So, I went back and asked my self, who you gonna call? I could only think of B&H. B&H has always helped me with my needs. I think they love photography as much as I do! Bravo B&H!

Very fast read/write times and huge memory! Card was half price compared to purchasing in Australia. Impressed with B&H's delivery service to Melbourne - online tracking was spot on and packaging was thorough.

Performs exactly how I expected it to. Buffer clears quickly on my D4, and files dump onto my Imac without a hiccup every time. Expensive, but not having to worry about changing cards is a wonderful luxury.

fastest card I could find for the Canon 1D-X, but sooo expensive, even with the Lexar $ "instant rebate". wanted a big card for dusty photo week outing where I didn't have to open to change cards. thinking this should do it :-)

Comments about Lexar 128GB CompactFlash Memory Card Professional 1000x UDMA:

I was testing this card with 5D Mark III (firmware 1.1.2).

With lens cap on and manual focus on at 1/250s wide-open (to minimize processing), it sustained initial burst of 28-29 shots at 6fps, and then dropped to around 3fps and stayed at that rate.

In practical situation with normal shots (i.e. with EF35mm lens, move around slowly, servo focus, 1/250, F2.8, ISO 400) the card delivered initial burst of 20-21 shots at 6fps, and then stayed at around 3fps. My old "S" brand card (bought in Feb2008) could do only 12-13 shots at 6fps (with the same setup), just another data point.

In 3fps silent mode, it just went on and on...... I took 100+ shots continuously at 3fps without any hiccup/slowdown (and then I stopped because chances are rare that I need 30+sec of continuous burst at 3fps).

I bought with this card the Lexar USB3.0 dual slot card reader (with latest firmware from their website). It took 70 seconds to transfer 281 shots (approx. 8,450,360,000 bytes) into my PC, which translates into an average of approx. 120,720,000 bytes per second. (Win7 64bit, SSD as save target capable of writing at 250MB+ per sec). As an comparison, my "B" brand USB3.0 card reader (bought in Jan2012) achieved 95MB/s transferring the same set of shots to the same PC/SSD.

On Macbook Air (2010 version, with SSD as internal drive) which I usually bring with me on the road, it delivered an average of 41MB/sec transferring from this Lexar 1000x card to my Macbook Air SSD via the Lexar USB3.0 reader. I believe Thunderbolt card reader will come soon, if Apple insists to ignore USB3.0. Otherwise it will become a major short-coming to Macbook users, like myself, who usually shoot 50GB-100GB per day on vacation.
