Comments about Panasonic Smart Viera 60" Class ST50 Series Full HD Plasma HDTV:

this tv is packed with features and has a great picture right out of the box. this plasma model has a much better picture than the led lcd i had on the wall 3 weeks before it quit. so far no problems with this plasma unit. easy to set up and navigate features. glad i had second chance, plasma has much better contrast, color, more natural whites, deeper blacks and doesn't loose color when viewing at an angle. my only complaint is no component audio out but thats minor. love this tv and it;s picture.

Comments about Panasonic Smart Viera 60" Class ST50 Series Full HD Plasma HDTV:

Our previous TV was a $3500 50" Samsung DLP from ~2004. We were stuck with that particular model because of space limitations. For the money, the picture quality wasn't there. The TV still works, but it was very overpriced in terms of its performance. Fast forward 8 years and with some remodeling in the house, now a 60" Panny fits. I chose plasma because it's supposed to be better in bright rooms than LED, and off the angle viewing is supposed to be better as well - which is a consideration for our family room.Out of the box, the picture quality is so, so much better than the DLP. The brightness, blacks, clarity, sharpness, color - just everything is better. And this cost just [$] too. Now I feel like we have a real hi def TV. We also have a JVC 70" DLP from ~2009 / 2010. Again, I think this Panny plasma runs circles around the 70" DLP too. It's only been a week, but the out of box experience has been excellent. We have the WiFi connected, but haven't used it. Not sure if we will. Nor do we plan to use 3D. We really just wanted a simple TV with a very high grade picture, and I think this Panny was about the best option out there. Our TV area is recessed, so getting the cables installed with the TV hung was very difficult. Hanging the TV wasn't too difficult, but jack placement on the rear of the TV made connect the cable after the TV was hung very difficult. Connecting the cables to the TV prior to hanging it would have been easier, but since our set-up is recessed a custom built, that approach had issues as well. Speakers are in the back, and that could compromise sound quality. Ours in running through a home theater system, so it's a non-issue for us, but it could be consideration if not running a home theater system. The screen is glossy and does reflect like a mirror when viewed from an angle. This hasn't been a problem in our room which has 3 full-length windows running on an adjacent wall. At extreme angles the reflection from the windows is there. But at normal viewing from the couch and chairs, reflections have not been a problem.Again, very, very happy with this TV.
