Comments about Think Tank Photo Airport AirStream Rolling Camera Bag (Black):

I carried 2 DSLR bodies, three f2.8 zoom lenses, a point and shoot, iPod, headset and other small accessories. A little snug under the seat of one of my flights but it did fit under the airline seats on all my flights. It was easy to roll each day that I was shooting and took the load off my back that used to carry this gear in a backpack.

Comments about Think Tank Photo Airport AirStream Rolling Camera Bag (Black):

This is the bag I use when traveling to shoot weddings. It fits everything I need and is small enough that it is easy to get around. Easily fits into overhead bins on places. The wheels are sturdy and roll very smoothly.

The only con is that this bag really does not have room for a laptop. There is a pocket on the very front that works for me but it does not zip shut. It is however good enough to get it around the airport and to the plane as I usually work on my laptop anyways when I fly. If you need a secure area for a laptop I would suggest purchasing one of Think Tank's larger bags.

Comments about Think Tank Photo Airport AirStream Rolling Camera Bag (Black):

I am a retired flight attendant for a major airline. This bag fits all of my needs and I know it will fit in the overhead bin or under the seat with ease. Cannot believe how much I can pack into this bag. I do wish the optional low dividers were not a separate purchase, as I can see where they are most useful.

If you have a bad back or simply prefer to carry the kitchen sink with you, this is a great travel choice. I agree with others that the lower divider set should be an in initial purchase option, thus the 4 rating.

Comments about Think Tank Photo Airport AirStream Rolling Camera Bag (Black):

I haven't traveled much with this bag yet, but since it fits what I need in a compact form and with the low dividers it is extremely customizable I will give it this rating. Using a combination of the tall and low dividers I was able to configure the interior so my gear fits nicely. The multiple locking features give a greater sense of security. I also use the Artificial Intelligence 13 V3.0 that fits in the elastic pouch on the front so its not considered the 2nd carryon bag and the laptop doesn't have to be inside the Airstream taking up valuable space need for camera gear.

Comments about Think Tank Photo Airport AirStream Rolling Camera Bag (Black):

I needed a roller bag to transport gear to a recent 2-week photo tour in Myanmar so, based on the positive reviews, I got the Airport AirStream. Like all Think Tank products, it's very thoughtfully designed for serious photographers. Here's what I packed in the bag:

2 Nikon D700 bodies (with Spider Holster tripod mounts attached)
              Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 lens
              Nikon 16-35mm f/4 lens
              Nikon Coolpix P7000
              Epson P4000 storage device
              4 batteries
              2 Wallets of CF cards
Chargers and cables for all devices
              Cell phone
              Adapter plugs

In the outside front pocket, I carried my iPad.

It all fit beautifully with extra room to accommodate an additional lens.

As others have pointed out, the expanding handle feels a bit flimsy and I found it didn't stick in place as well as I'd expect for a bag of this quality; for that reason, I gave 4 stars rather than 5.

I liked that there are handles all around the bag, which helps when lifting it into an overhead compartment or carrying it down narrow aisles on small planes. I carried the bag onto small prop planes in Myanmar (Mandalay Air and Bagan Air) with no problem; in every case, it fit under the seat in front of my feet -- and these were small planes!

Overall, I'm very pleased with this bag and know it will be perfect for future international travel.

Comments about Think Tank Photo Airport AirStream Rolling Camera Bag (Black):

This is another no brainer product from Think Tank if you are looking for a bag not too big, not to bulky for travel and that could fit in just the perfect kit. Also this bag is perfect for a shoot of an event or wedding.

When I was searching for a bag that could meet my expectations (always start searching the Think Tank Line-Up) I was debating betweeen this one and the Navigator, but the Navigator doesn´t have the secure cable, the tripod cup and the TSA lock so I decided for the Airport Airstream basically for security issues. It has the perfect size to go unsuspiciuos through airports and there is no way you would be ask to check your back size or weight.

Here is what I got into it:

                - Nikon D4
                - Nikon D800
                - Nikon 14-24 f/2.8
                - Nikon 24-70 f/2.8
                - Nikon 70-200 f/2.8 VR II
                - Nikon 50 mm f/1.8g
                - Nikon SB-900
                - Nikon SB-910
                - Either Nikon SD-9 or Quantum Turbo 3 Battery Pack
                - Color Checker Passport
                - PocketWizard Mini-TT1
                - PocketWizard Flex-TT5 (2)
                - PocketWizard AC-3 Controller
                - Expo Disc
                - Think Tank Pixel Pocket Rocket for the memorie cards
                - Spinlight 360 kit for flash

As I said earlier pretty amazing for a bag this size that could fit all of this, and also all the gear would be absolutely secure because the build is just perfect.

The only cons I could said about this bag is that the extend handle is not too sturdy so if you have to pull up the bag is better to do it with any of the handles around the bag.And also the front zipper pocket is very strechy.

Also for the record I pair this bag with the Think Tank CityWalker20 for traveling!

Hope this review could help you!

Comments about Think Tank Photo Airport AirStream Rolling Camera Bag (Black):

To be honest I am new to "serious" photographic equipment. I have a good Canon Rebel body and after reading the reviews, talking to several friends, and asking actual professionals, I purchased several Canon "L" series lenses. My kit now includes the 16-35 II F2.8, the 70-200 IS II F2.8, A 1.4X series 3 tele-extender and of course the standard EF S18-55 F3.5-5.6 lens that came with the body, along with several sets of B+W filters. I was hired as part of a massive engineering project on the edge of Antarctica, and I was terified to carry my kit to what is undeniably some of the most breath taking scenery on the planet.I probably put as much research into my travel bag as I did into my lenses. The Airstream does not disappoint. From the TSA approved locks, to the incredible flexability of the modular interior, I am simply thrilled. best of all it fit not only all of my gear, but "walked" through international customs, and fit in every overhead compartment I had to deal with down to the smallest regional airline. I often question why some of these reviews get written, but I can tell you this is one well designed bag, and I can't emphisize the quality enough. I would recommend this case to anyone with a camera system worth protecting. I may be still on the fense over the cost of a prime L series 400 lens, but I'm no longer afraid to travel with it

Comments about Think Tank Photo Airport AirStream Rolling Camera Bag (Black):

I use this with my ThinkTank Photo Urban Disguise v30 2.0 shoulder bag. The shoulder bag is great for while on location, the Airport Airstream is great for traveling long distances to the location.

I am a photography enthusiast. I can't really say where I live. It's not that I don't want to, its that I spend 5-6 months working in Naknek, AK, 5-6 months working in Seattle, WA, and 1 month visiting family in Charleston, SC. I also get called on to help out temporarily at other shoreplants in Alaska and floating processors bobbing around in the Bering Sea. I average 8 round trips a year, though I realize that many pro photographers go on more flights than I.

What makes my situation different is a company called "Pen Air." They are a large regional airline in Alaska and they operate mostly small Saab Turboprop planes. These are a little smaller than the ones most people in the Lower 48 are used to. The overhead bins are tiny, and the space under the seat is basically a toe kick. Historically I have always had trouble with carry-on luggage and Pen Air prior to getting this bag. They always wanted to gate check my other bags (technically runway check it.) The Airport Airstream fits in the overhead bin. The Urban Disguise v30 2.0 fits under the seat (in the toe kick.) I have never been questioned about bringing both bags, but I would probably say something like "come on, the roller is my carry-on and this is my european shoulder bag. I need my man-purse! Please, pretty please..." While smiling devilishly. Again, they haven't said anything yet.

                  How I pack both bags:

Airport Airstream: D700 with unattached MBD10 Battery Grip, spare battery grip tray, MC36 shutter remote, 70-200mm F2.8G VRII, 14-24mm F2.8G, 50mm F1.4G, 2) SB-910 Flash Units, Macbook Pro 15", a bunch of Lexar CF cards, etc.

Urban Disguise: cables, flash modifiers, battery chargers (camera, macbook, AA), 85% of the Sanyo Eneloop Batteries sold in North America last year, iPhone, iPad, magazines, wallet, keys, adaptors, etc.

What I like: The quality is amazing. The skid plates on the back, replaceable wheels, zipper protector, the luggage locks, and hide by zipper telescoping handle are all great features that I never would have expected but love. The zippers are super strong. The overall construction is fantastic. The divider sets (both low and high) are very adaptable. The divider sets and bag offer outstanding protection. My overall view is it was well planned out, well engineered, well manufactured, and the company has an outstanding quality assurance division.

Things I don't like: They should sell two versions of the bag: one with high divider sets (I would be able to keep my battery grip attached if I did not opt for the low divider set) and one with low divider sets. Just a little more room (tiny, tiny bit) would be nice.

Overall, I am very pleased. This is a workable solution for my situation. I can make room in the bag by moving the flash units to my shoulder bag when I bite the bullet and buy the 85mm F1.4G and 24mm F1.4G I want. I would recommend that you get the larger Airport International if you mostly fly domestic flights in planes equal to or larger than a Boeing 737. If you are flying on a lot of smaller planes then you should pick this up and consider one of the Urban Disguise Bags. They match, look good as a pair, and work together well.

On the whole divider set dillema, I was able to use a few of the high divider set pieces. One piece seperates my two flash units that are stacked on top of each other. Four of them combine to make a bed for my 15" MacBook Pro to sit on and seperate the MBP from the other gear. I can also remove aforementioned bed and fit my InCase laptop sleeve for my MBP in the bag, but the bag gets a wee-bit tight for that.

As for Pen Air, at least you get the whole can of coke and a bag of chocolate chip famous amos cookies...

I have two canon bodies (350D, 60D), a 24-70 f2.8L, 70-200 f4.0L and the 100-400 f4-5.6L along with a flash and some accessories. I had been using a LowePro back pack and it really killed me to carry all that gear along with my laptop and other electronics on international flights. On my last trip home to New York, I decided to go with a rolling bag for long haul trips and keep the backpack for small trips. I spent time at BH looking at all the rolling bags and was really impressed with the whole line from ThinkTank.

In all honesty I should say that I bought this and exchanged it for the larger Airport International V2.0 Rolling Camera bag a couple of days later. This was not because there is anything wrong with the AirStream, it was just too small for my needs. All my gear fit into the AirSteam, but it would leave me with no room for adding another lens.

As for the bag itself, the construction is great, very well done. Enough room and flexible inserts. I really like the small passport pocket on top and the small flap on front. The wheels are replaceable in case something bad happens and there are a couple of small cable locks to sort of safeguard the bag while your in the airport. Okay, the cable locks won't prevent someone with a dremel tool or cutters from walking off with your bag, but who gets those through security screening anyway.

I would have kept this bag if I did not have the 100-400 lens. It would have been a perfect fit and allowed the addition of a few prime or a 11-16 lens.

Overall, I really want to give this bag 4.5 stars for a few of minor hits. I wish the zippers on the main compartment met at the top rather than one side, especially since the bag opens long with the main flap opening towards the wheels. Following on this, I would rather the bag open to the long side, I feel this would be easier to access my equipment and take require less room around the bag. Finally, ThinkTank sells short inserts that will let you store a laptop inside the roll on. The bag is pretty deep if you are storing the lenses on their side, I suspect many folks will do this. I just wish ThinkTank made the short inserts part of the bag.

Minor dings or personal preferences. Probably more of the latter.

Comments about Think Tank Photo Airport AirStream Rolling Camera Bag (Black):

I bought this for a double purpose. Firstly to take a small dslr video kit on an airplane. Check. Worked like a charm. Love the security lock on the zippers and solid wheels and extending handle. Second, for daily use to take on location for simple interview shoots. Haven't done this yet, but I know that it will fit evrything I need except a light stand and maybe an extra light which I can easily throw in a backpack. But this guy will handle 90% of my gear, which is why I needed it to have wheels.

                  I fit:
                  Camera with lens
                  Two extra lenses
                  Zoom h4n
                  Headphones
                  Rode video mic pro
                  Small LED light
                  Chargers and batteries
Still room for a few extras.
