Comments about Oben AC-2341 3-Section Aluminum Tripod Legs (Flip Lock):

First time it was used was on a night shoot and one of the lower tripod legs failed. Earlier the legs were examined and found to be satisfactory. Also, the legs do not slip out very easily to the extended position. Structurally, the legs are well made and packaging was excellent with a nice case. There are wrenches in the case to tighten the legs, which corrected the main problem.

Comments about Oben AC-2341 3-Section Aluminum Tripod Legs (Flip Lock):

I bought these tripod legs to use with a Manfrotto 3126 fluid head and a Vortex spotting scope. I own an Oben monopod (CTM 2400) and have been impressed with the thoughtful design, so when looking for a set of tripod legs, Oben was on my list. The combination of scope and head weigh about 6lbs. so I was looking for legs weighing at least 3 lbs. and my scope is an angled model so 60 inches is plenty of height for me (6ft). I chose 3 section legs which usually provide greater stiffness at the cost of a longer closed length. These legs deploy quickly, there are 2 lever locks on each leg. Once set up, there is no discernable wobble or vibration (at spotting scope magnifications any vibration is very noticeable). There is foam cladding on 2 of the 3 legs to make it easier to handle in cold weather. The legs end with rubber feet with retractable spikes, a standard feature on many Oben models, a feature you will appreciate outdoors. There is a bubble level, the center column extends quickly with a twist lock, an Allen wrench is included for adjustments, and it comes with a padded case long enough to fit most heads (though not the 3126 which is rather bulky). Oben has done an excellent job designing a solid, stable tripod at an affordable price with many thoughtful features, I do not believe there is not a better tripod available at this price.
