Comments about Oben CT-2381 Carbon Fiber Tripod:

This is my first carbon fiber tripod. It is replacing an inexpensive aluminum tripod that broke after a few years of light use. I did not expect such a dramatic difference in stepping up to this carbon fiber model.

The twist locks are great, I absolutely love being able to carry the tripod around without flip-lock levers getting hung up on everything along the way.

This thing dampens vibrations really, really well! My aluminum tripod you could put the camera in live view and and just sit there and watch the picture shake and shake and shake. With this tripod, combined with the Oben BC-139 ball head, you can tap the camera or leg and the vibrations are completely gone within a second. This tripod is rock steady to a degree I never expected.

The fit and finish seem fine. I could detect no flaws or issues at all. The legs open and close smoothly, and the hinged legs pivot very smoothly but with a good amount of tension so there is no worry about accidentally bumping a leg closed and topling the tripod.

A note about the height: I am 5'6" tall. When the tripod legs are fully extended and the center column is fully down, using the BC-139 ball head with my Nikon D610 clamped on, the viewfinder is perfectly at eye-level for me. I could not have asked for a more perfect fit to my physical height.

Comments about Oben CT-2381 Carbon Fiber Tripod:

I use this tripod with a gimbol mount for my 150-600 mm lens. It's lightweight but rock solid with the lens extended all the way out to 600 mm, even on a fairly windy day. It's easy to setup and use yet it's light and compact when you have to haul your equipment a long way. It's made of carbon fiber so it's going to be really tough and durable.

Comments about Oben CT-2381 Carbon Fiber Tripod:

The locks on the legs are easy to lock/unlock and hold my 7 lb camera and telephoto lens nice and steady. I use it with an Oben ball head.I like the stability of the tubular legs without the weight of a heavier tripod. I have been doing a lot of outdoor photography at temperatures below 10 degrees and the legs get cold, but not nearly as frigid as my aluminum tripod.
