Comments about 18-250mm F3.5-6.3 DC Macro OS HSM for Sigma SA Mount:

I bought this for a Sony A550 which had the lens that came with it. I was going to upgrade my camera but I decided to upgrade the lens. The lens is a bit heavy, at least heavier than the Sony plastic lens it came with, but it lives on a tripod in my studio so it doesn't matter. I like the idea of an all in one lens and it has proven to be great. I'm an artist, I live in nature and I exhibit my photos. Price, service A+. Good job B&H!

Comments about 18-250mm F3.5-6.3 DC Macro OS HSM for Sigma SA Mount:

This lens was a good surprise for the price. Paid $ after $ instant rebate, so a very fair price.Image quality is ok and really good on center at far tele range and acceptable at the edges when stopped down to F8 and beyond. Not so great at 18mm but adequate. OS works nicely.Using it with SD9 and SD15 cameras. Great for the old SD9, but I don´t think it can handle the SD1 sensor.

Comments about 18-250mm F3.5-6.3 DC Macro OS HSM for Sigma SA Mount:

Do-all lens with lots of range, macro capability, and optical stabilization as well. This is the perfect tourist lens. I carried a 50mm F2.8 lens just in case I wanted to shoot indoors in low light, but I never used it. I just set the ISO up to 800 in my SD1 and it worked just fine.
Very clear and sharp in the middle of the image.
Some Chromatic Abberation at the edges with Sigma SD1 camera, which is full APS-C (1.5x crop).
      Very good contrast and presence.
Some vignetting at middle focal lengths, not related to the hood, with slight darkness at top left and right corners. Maybe slightly decentered down or something. Not a big problem for me though.
Very good fit and smoothness in the mechanism, very little wobble in the lens when extended. Autofocus is good even at maximum focal length of 250mm, when it is F6.3 wide open. The mechanism got nice and smooth after about 2 hours of use. There is some tendency for the lens to creep up to 250mm when holding the camera lens-down. However, for storage there is a convenient zoom lock that holds the lens at 18mm.
The hood is small and easily attached and detached. It is easy to get your fingers too far forward when shooting with the hood at the 18mm focal length, but that is simply my own clumsiness. It is a nice small package.
This lens is lightweight and well-made, and works like a champ!
