Comments about Apple 11.6" MacBook Air Notebook Computer:

Love my new 11" Macbook air. B&H had the best price with $100 off regular pricing and no sales tax in my state. Gotta love that. I saved over $200 buying this from B&H and it's a great little Mac that's super fast.

Comments about Apple 11.6" MacBook Air Notebook Computer:

I love this 11 inch Mac Air! I installed Parallel to run my windows application as well. I was thinking of getting the 13 inch version but the 11 inch screen is perfect. The screen is clear and sharp even though it's not an IPS panel. Hopefully Apple will switch to an IPS panel in the next iteration.

Comments about Apple 11.6" MacBook Air Notebook Computer:

I bought my 2nd mac notebook after using a 15 inch macbook pro core 2 duo for 5 years. This 11 inch mac air is super light and I love carrying it around. The i7 core processor with 8 gig ram work great. The fan hasn't kicked in at all after surfing for more than 4 hrs a day (2-3 webpages open). I can last 5+ hrs easily before recharging. Great buy!

Comments about Apple 11.6" MacBook Air Notebook Computer:

I bought this laptop for on the field productions where weight is a big concern. This Mac has worked perfectly for the past few weeks and am very happy with it. The reasons I posted 4 stars instead of 5 are the lack of an SD card reader as opposed to the 13" and the new magsafe connecter which is not compatible with my older macbook pro.

Comments about Apple 11.6" MacBook Air Notebook Computer:

This is a beast of a machine for such a tiny package. I should state that I do have the upgraded Core i7 model with 8 GB of RAM so it should perform as such; but the fact I could even upgrade to these specs is impressive in and of itself. It handles AutoCAD in a Windows VM using Parallels flawlessly. This is something I was concerned about, since it's only a dual core processor (though it does have hyper-threading), but my concerns vanished as soon as I launched Parallels. This is probably a testament to the SSD, if this was a hardisk I doubt it would be running so smoothly that I don't notice the lack of cpu cores (For non processor intensive programs of course. Animation/modeling/gaming would be a different story).

The other major consideration in choosing this machine is, of course, the screen size. I debated back and forth between this and the 13" and finally decided the smaller size was more important to me than the screen real estate. So far, I am not regretting the decision. I can run AutoCAD, out in the field with no external monitor, and still be productive. For media, streaming Hulu/Netflix is perfect on this screen size. I was concerned that reading text on this small of a screen would be tough but it has not been an issue so far. I haven't had to zoom in or increase font sizes; RSS feeds and websites have been very comfortable to read for extended periods of time.

In summary, I think of this 11" Air as the perfect balance between the portability and media consumption prowess of the iPad with the horsepower of a desktop replacement computer. Especially if you can afford to pair it with a Thunderbolt display you really could use this as your one and only setup. Highly recommended. (Side note: If you upgrade to the Core i7 the video RAM goes up to 512 mb from 384 mb in the Core i5 version. This makes a tangible difference when running a Thunderbolt display)

Long time Mac user. This MacBook Air is very fast, very light and comfortable on my lap, I got the 11 inch, super easy to pack.Screen is clear and doesn't seem small when I'm looking at it, though when it is next to a 13 it seems much smaller. Keyboard is very nice, doesn't feel cramped the backlit feature is a big bonus when I'm typing in a darkened meeting room. Very pleased. New trackpad is nice. Solid state HD is really quick for wake up.
