Comments about NX1000 Mirrorless Wi-Fi Digital Camera with 20-50mm and 16mm Lenses (Black):

This is an easy carry powerful camera. Never thought I would see a compact interchangeable lens camera with all the functions available on the NX1000.

Only drawback is there is no View Finder!

Right out of the box, this Smart Wi-Fi digital was easy to get shooting and uploading to the Internet. The quality of the photos is exceptional. You can just set it on "SMART" and it does everything for you to get a great shot. It was easy to connect with my Wi-Fi router and computer. Exploring all of the more advanced features will be fun.

Comments about NX1000 Mirrorless Wi-Fi Digital Camera with 20-50mm and 16mm Lenses (Black):

After my son was born I found it difficult to leave the house with the baby, car seat, diaper bag, AND dSLR kit. Yet I wasn't satisfied with just our point-and-shoot (even though it is a good one, Olympus TG-1iHS). So size was my biggest motivation.

My two criteria for choosing between mirrorless systems were price and wi-fi. Although this is the "low-end" model from Samsung, I find it fits my needs well. If I wanted a viewfinder and didn't care about size & weight, I would just use my dSLR, after all. I got the body, three lenses, and small accessories for under $1000.

I am primarily shooting with the 30mm pancake lens. With a UV filter for protection, it really is not much smaller than the 20-50mm without a filter. The whole thing is not as flat as I would like; I guess I was kind of picturing a large point-and-shoot.

The system does allow for plenty of aperture and shutter control and fast continuous shooting, giving it many of the advantages of an SLR system. One drawback is that most of the controls, including ISO, white balance, and metering, require scrolling through the menu.

Of note, I was able to find a fotodiox lens mount converter for my EOS lenses at another online retailer. Just for curiosity's sake.

I would definitely recommend a mirrorless system to any casual photographer who is thinking about stepping up to a dSLR for picture quality and shooting speed.

Camera suitable to my needs, best quality, use friendly. A great option to the amateur photographer who wants to eventually migrate to a professional camera, but has not yet acquired all the knowledge in photography for this upgrade.

Comments about NX1000 Mirrorless Wi-Fi Digital Camera with 20-50mm and 16mm Lenses (Black):

I wanted a camera smaller than an SLR that had a larger sensor than a small camera but with good resolution, so I had been looking for an APS-C camera. I also considered the Sony Nex 5R and Canon Eos M. The former was my top choice, but it doesn't come out until late January. The Canon has terrible reviews with respect to its autofocus speed, and both of them are priced much higher. I believe this camera gets generally positive reviews, and when I saw the great price Black Friday week, I felt compelled to pull the trigger. I was primarily interested in the 16mm pancake, since it results in a very compact package, and the 20-50mm is an added bonus for the price. I do not consider myself anything other than an amateur, so the level of controls and convenience functions are fine for me. The images it can take are extremely sharp. The videos seem okay also. The main drawback, in my opinion, is that there is no image stabilization, so I think a tripod is necessary in low light, or you have to otherwise need to somehow get the shutter speed up. The battery doesn't seem great either, but spare batteries are relatively cheap. It's also slow writing raw to the card. Assuming that the camera remains reliable, I think it is a great overall deal. Minus one star for lack of OIS, but I can't complain too much given the great price I paid. As usual the transaction was smooth and no problems with the delivery.
