Comments about Canon EF-M 22mm f/2 STM Lens:

The images produced by this fast prime are crisp, bright, and have beautiful bokeh. Plus, the lens is very well constructed. For this price? What more do you want? Its perfect.

Comments about Canon EF-M 22mm f/2 STM Lens:

I got this lens with an EOS M kit, but am reviewing it separately from the camera. In short, this lens is superb!

The lens is compact and solidly built. It's nicely sharp in the center even wide open. Vignetting is quite heavy at f/2, but I rather like it that way. Stopping down reduces vignetting quickly and the center is very sharp by f/2.8 with sharp borders, while the far corners are sharp by f/4. Bokeh is very nice (in the limited quantities the focal length and aperture afford). AF speed isn't great, but I think that's as much or more a matter of the EOS M camera than the lens. Most of my shooting has been indoors, but I've had no issues with flare, using it without a hood or filter. I shoot in raw and have Lightroom automatically correct CA, and haven't noticed any significant residual CA. Distortion is well controlled. It focuses quite close, which is very handy.

Overall, this lens is very well behaved: there's nothing much to watch out for and it produces lovely images. Now it just needs a camera body as good as it is to mount it on!

Comments about Canon EF-M 22mm f/2 STM Lens:

Bought it along with the EOS M kit with 18-55 lens. Love the low profile and f/2 aperture. So far it's great.

Comments about Canon EF-M 22mm f/2 STM Lens:

Purchased the Canon EOS M camera, so of course, have to have all the bells and whistles! Being a moderate wide angle, it allows one to be closer to the subject, which sometimes is necessary for family reunions and some events.

Comments about Canon EF-M 22mm f/2 STM Lens:

This lens has produced much better images than I expected. Another reviewer mentioned that the focus is slow and can hunt in low light. In using other lenses with the EOS-M, that seems to generally be an issue with the camera. I doubt this lens contributes to the problem. I've consistently gotten excellent, surprisingly sharp images, with no problem fiding a focus lock.

Comments about Canon EF-M 22mm f/2 STM Lens:

Takes great pics. Can struggle for focus a bit in low light, but I think it's the camera more than the lens.

Comments about Canon EF-M 22mm f/2 STM Lens:

It fits perfectly the M. I switched from the original lens kit : 18-55.
I usually use zoom lenses. Now, I must take care of the distance. It's not a bad thing.
I don't own it for a long time. I can't say more about it.

Comments about Canon EF-M 22mm f/2 STM Lens:

I have a 60D with 3 different EF lens. I Purchased the EOS-M as a alternate indoor camera with included zoom lens. I will likely use my adapter with an EF 50mm 1.8 lens as primary for indoor shots. The 22mm is a backup mainly for indoor use. It will take a lot of pictures to decide which I like best.
