Comments about Impact Background Kit with 10 x 12' Stone Blue/Nickel Reversible Muslin Backdrop:

Except for a very few exceptions, most of my work is with landscape photography. Recently, my daughter gave birth to our first grandchild and she wanted me to do a photoshoot of the new baby. I needed a nice backdrop, but did not want to invest in an expensive studio setup as I would be using it only very rarely. I also wanted a setup that was easy to assemble, take apart and store. The Impact series did the trick for me. It is solidly built and almost infinitely adjustable -- height versus width. The reversible muslim backdrop provided with this specific kit provided a beautiful, yet simple, background.

My only "nits" (and they really are trivial nits) with the system are: 1. the collapsible tripod legs sometimes require a little "finessing" to start to open or close. Once started, however, the legs collapse and expand easily; 2. the telescoping support poles can bind somewhat if not retracted/expanded when perfectly vertical.

What I particularly like about the setup is that it is very stable when the tripod bases are set up properly -- i.e., fully extended and facing each other on the same configuration (e.g., two legs of three facing inwards). During my "baby photoshoot", my niece's 3 year old decided to play "hide and seek" with the backdrop as my niece watched in horror waiting for the whole thing to collapse on her -- but the supports remained solidly upright and survived the pulls and tugs of the 3 year old.

I have also used the backdrop for photographing items for charity sales, draping the muslin backdrop (supported from above by the tripod system) over a small table for item support. As such, it is much more flexible than a specialized shooting tent or table.

In summary, this is a very nice kit for the beginning studio photographer.

Comments about Impact Background Kit with 10 x 12' Stone Blue/Nickel Reversible Muslin Backdrop:

I bought this kit with the intention of using it as a background for video submissions, and it has worked out great. I love the fact that the support breaks down into an easy to carry case.

The only thing I found lacking are weights for the stands which are almost a necessity if you are on a surface that isn't level, are shooting outdoors with any wind, or have lots of movement of your subject.

Great kit. I will add green screen. No need for sand bags.
