Comments about Slik Pro 700DXQ Aluminum Tripod With 3-Way Pan and Tilt Head (Black):

I bought this tripod to use with 20x80 binoculars for stargazing. It needed to be sturdy and vibration free - and this product does not dissappoint. It is rated to handle up to 19-lbs well more than than I need for my 6-lb binoculars. Though a bit heavy for traveling with my SLR camera (I have a smaller one for that) it is a great platform for a studio tripod.

The product is very well made ..impressive.

I have only used it once, just got it last week. It was easy to use and very stable and can handle the weight of any of my equipment. Should have bought one long ago.Got lucky as I bought it on the last day of the $ off and free shipping.

Comments about Slik Pro 700DXQ Aluminum Tripod With 3-Way Pan and Tilt Head (Black):

I got this tripod to use in my portrait studio. It is a bit heavy, but very solid. I don't plan on hauling it around very much, but I can if I need to. It replaces a very old worn out tripod. I like it because it is rock solid. I also like the fact that it is about eye level with me without raising the center post. I am 6'1" and most tripods are just not tall enough for me, especially in this price range.

Comments about Slik Pro 700DXQ Aluminum Tripod With 3-Way Pan and Tilt Head (Black):

I bought this tripod to use with a new Vortex Razor Spotting scope. I knew before hand that this was a heavy tripod but it was less of an issue for me due to planned use near vehicles / horses.

It is indeed rock steady. Even in moderate wind I noticed only minor vibration through the spotter. this thing is at eye height with the legs extended but the center post fully retracted, very stable.

The pan head is the only reason for it not being a 5 star review. Its pretty good but it does jerk along at times when panning due to friction. Some day I would like to replace the head.

I would rate the tripod by itself as 5/5 when comparing it to other tripods in its catagory. If I had endless funds I would have bought a carbon fiber tripod and a high end fluid head, but due to budget concerns, this really is a great buy for what you get.

Very pleased with it so far.

This is the second one I've purchased. If you can't afford a Benbo, this is the best alternative out there.

I am a novice photographer who was told to buy a tripod. After reading reviews and looking at many tripods I showed my teacher this one and he thought it looked good. Well, he was right. It is very sturdy and structurally sound. For a novice or amateur photographer I think this will suit your needs very well. And it's easy to work. Nothing complex to deal with.
