Comments about Apple 13.3" MacBook Air Notebook Computer:

I needed a laptop that was light as I carry it to client's offices and travel on a daily basis. I have been a Windows based user for years and after having bought and iPad and an iPhone the last six months I decided to replace my old laptop with a Mac.

I found the transition to the Mac to be very easy and that the Apple O/S to be more intuitive than Windows. I did have a friend who was experienced in Macs help me a little bit to get familiar with it which helped.

It is very light and the Microsoft Office Suite was easy to upload and is working fine. What I really like is having the Mac platform crossed on my iPad and iPhone so that many of my basic uses are synched.

Comments about Apple 13.3" MacBook Air Notebook Computer:

I'm using this as a local development environment for creating websites. Easy set-up, like most Macs. It works like a charm so far!
My only complaint is that downloads from the web seem rather slow. Perhaps this is due to using an exclusively wireless connection. Note: There is no ethernet port to connect directly to a system; it's strictly WiFi.
Built-in Calendar App isn't so good either, but that's not product-specific.

Comments about Apple 13.3" MacBook Air Notebook Computer:

This is my main laptop and I'm very happy with it, replacing a 2009 white macbook that is still running great and passed down to my daughter. Before settling on this model, I bought an 11" Macbook Air i7/8GB/256GB but returned it to Apple in favor of buying this one from B&H. I really liked the small form factor of the 11", especially for travel, but it ran a bit hotter, and the battery life is significantly less than the 13".

To me, this is the sweet spot in the apple lineup right now. I thought about going with the Retina 13" Macbook Pro at roughly the same price, but the reports of inconsistent screen quality, fan issues, plus extra weight and heat scared me off - too bleeding edge and for me the screen quality of the MBA at lap distances is fine.

I am a power user, running parallels/windows8/ms project for work, and Apple Mainstage to power MIDI Keyboard controllers for play. The MBA feels very stable, light, cool and reliable - the only time I've heard the fan was during sync of 45GB of data from dropbox.

Side note: I went through five cases before settling on a Sena black folio case for the MBA. I like the leather underneath my palms when typing. Also, the thin edge of the laptop body, while very stylish, tends to be a little uncomfortable, digging into your palms or belly, unless you have a case around it. I don't clip the folio case onto the screen (the clips are badly designed anyway) but fold it underneath, so the raw beauty of the MBA is still visible and heat dissipation is enhanced (fan exhaust is at the hinge).

Complaints? The MBA Magsafe power supply is not as strong magnetically as the Macbook Pro's (thinner), and is easier to knock off. Also the screen is a little heavy for the hinge, and can shift position slightly as you fumble with it in your lap. It also seems a little topheavy at full tilt, but my leather case on the bottom solves that. This is more of a consideration if you strap on a heavy top cover (I don't). As an alternative to a Folio style case, the Moshi translucent iGlaze is a nice lightweight snap on cover that work's well with the hinge and doesn't detract much from the slim design of the MBA.

Overall very happy. Price was not a consideration - I got the best for my needs and I can't think of anything better.

Comments about Apple 13.3" MacBook Air Notebook Computer:

This review is supposed to focus on the "product performance and quality" and so far I have been blown away by both! This is an upgrade from my previous laptop/ultrabook with similar specs, so for those looking at replacing your seemingly equivalent machine with the 13.3" MacBook Air, the following were clear game-changers for me right from the start:
        - Solid/beautiful construction
        - Backlit keyboard
        - Quiet
        - Quality of native programs (and lack of bloatware)

Use it for travel and heavy duty work(software programming applications).

Personally i prefer macbook air for Retina display as i anyways use a 1080p monitor if i need bigger screen and the additional money paid serves no purpose.

Parallels is free and it comes with a surprise Windows 8 free download once you install Parallels 8 and when you launch first time parallels(Not sure how long this will be available for free).

Apple Care is 50% discounted here in B&H.

                  Awesome deal.
