Comments about Leica M-E Digital Rangefinder Camera:

This is my first digital M, and I absolutely love it. It gives a whole new yet familiar experience from the film M.Since it is same as the M9 inside, I dont want to waste your time talk much about that. The grey looks better in real life than on photo. It gives a very unique feel while maintaining a low profile, unlike the black one that gives the serious and professional feel or the silver one that draws much attention. It looks better on black lenses in my opinion although the dials and shutter button are silver which can match the silver lenses nicely. I generally like less color variety on my camera. I havent found any issue with the paint. It still looks like new. The leather wrapping feels nicer than M9, and it gives great grip. Also I dont see any problem with the absence of frame selector and the USB port. The overall look is very urban, it would look great on you if you like grey/black clothes. I covered the red logo with a black tape to keep it more discreet, and without the red dot, it gives a cleaner look. Personally, I think with the M-E, you blend in better on the street as it doesnt look like a traditional Leica. It is the most affordable digital Leica M, which makes it a great entry camera for the digital Leica family if you havent had one yet.

Comments about Leica M-E Digital Rangefinder Camera:

Focusing was the first thing to get used to. The manual settings were next. But, having all that control is awesome. I know a rangefinder can't do all the things that a DSLR can but it is Leica and not much can be compared to an M -- even in its abbreviated form.

Comments about Leica M-E Digital Rangefinder Camera:

Long time serious amateur photographer who's migrating from DSLR photography to a lighter, more compact format suited for unobtrusive street photography. The Leica M-E produces wonderfully sharp images that accurately reflect what I see.

Comments about Leica M-E Digital Rangefinder Camera:

Every single element of picture quality in the M9/P cameras, for MUCH less money. Plus, the removal of the low-pass filter (which adds $ to the cost of a Nikon 800) actually enhances detail and renders a more natural image. Lack of a "Bright Line Preview Selector" doesn't affect any of the qualities of the M9/p or M-E images. The three lenses I bought with this body determine the appropriate bright lines in the Finder anyhow. The Gray paint top and bottom is handsome and distinctive, and an SD reader is as easy to use as a USB cable for downloding into the included Photoshop software..more convenient for me. After 10 years with an upscale, autofocus DSLR, I am so grateful to be back in the Leica M game. Perfect camera for me!
