Holds just what I need for quick, get-up-and-go kind of photography. This holds my DSLR with telephoto lens attached (or alternatively, my film SLR with lens attached), two extra small lenses (a maximum of three per slot, depending on the size of the lenses - just note that you have to stack smaller lenses, and there won't be any padding in between stacked lenses), my macro filter, my speedlite (w/ flash bounce), all of my cords, my ion battery charger, my filters, my cleaning supplies and my extra memory card.

It is especially good that it has velcro straps that you can use in place/in tandem with the strap buckle. I found that leaving the buckle off and only using the velcro makes it very easy to open the bag and switch lenses/equipment without even having to look at the bag. Much better than the more square bags that may tilt and drop all of your expensive equipment.

I only wish that the strap weren't built on, since built on straps aren't always the most comfortable, and I would have liked metal rings instead so that I could use my custom strap. But otherwise, this fits all that I need.

I ordered the Event Messenger 150 Shoulder bag for a month long trip to India. I needed to carry one GH-3 Lumix camera with short lens, a longer lens, adapters,2 batteries, chargers, and a few wallets and other small items. The video you show looks bigger, I think it was for the Messenger 250. Other videos were also misleading. I returned it for the larger, 250 Lowepro, and am much happier. It can also carry an iPad or 13 X 8 folder. One thing I don't like about all of these models, NO ZIPPER to close it!

Class photo bag

Comments about Event Messenger 150 Shoulder Bag (Black):

This is a top-notch, classy-looking shoulder photo bag. Good protective features for DSLR camera and additional lens. A number of pockets and crannies that provide safe space for other items. My only issue is that it was a bit smaller than I expected, but that could be my vision of the measurements.

A travel bag

By Jozi

from Brooklyn, NY

Comments about Event Messenger 150 Shoulder Bag (Mica):

I just returned from a week in Iceland. I purchased the bag wanting one that was water resistant and light weight but held enough gear for the trip. It worked trekking up waterfalls and glaciers as well as in the quiet strolls of the city. This bag fit the bill, often with room to spare.

Excellent Carry-on Bag

By Jack the Gamer

Comments about Event Messenger 150 Shoulder Bag (Mica):

I probably own thirty bags, satchels, camera bags, etc. I'm always searching for the perfect size for every job. This one turns out to be just squat enough to stand up under an airline seat, and leave plenty of leg room on the side, so it's my new go-to carry-on bag. The interior sleeve is the right size for my 9.7" iPad, the bag is well constructed, the dividers do the job, and there's no wasted space.

I use this bag for weddings. I have my main bag and I will swap out lenses to put in this bag for each part of the wedding. It's a perfect size for 3 lenses (body on 1) or 2 lenses and a flash. Great side compartments for phone and keys. Front pocket is perfect for batteries, memory cards, etc. I love the silent option for the velcro closure. This bag makes every wedding day so much for efficient!

Great bag for a mirrorless system, but I fight with it constantly because it won't stay on my shoulder. The strap is too stiff and doesn't mould to the shoulder. I will need to replace it unfortunately.

Fits my dlsr, batteries, an extra lense along with pockets for credit cards and other things you don't leave the house without. It doesn't look like a camera bag, so when visiting New York City, no attention is drawn to the fact that you have thousands of dollars of equipment in it. Easy and comfortable to carry.

I have two camera bags, a backpack when I need to carry a lot of equipment and now the Lowepro Event Messenger 150 Shoulder Bag. The quality is excellent and allows me to carry a scaled-down amount of lenses and equipment for smaller requirements. Also, there are all kinds of pockets everywhere for lots of storage options. And no, I don't work for Lowepro.

This is a perfect size walkabout bag for Nikon D7100 with 18-200 zoom and SB900 Speedlight or the 105 micro. Not sure if a longer lens will fit and allow the cover to close properly. The bag is durable and well padded.

This bag snugly holds my D700, a 50mm prime and 2 other small lenses, with my flash laying across the top. It's great for a smaller photo session, or personal use for a day trip. If you're looking for a smaller messenger bag this is definitely worth it. The price wasn't too bad either. It does seem to have good padding in the inside, and the strap is comfortable to wear it crossbody. I'd definitely recommend it for smaller shoots or personal use.

This will be my carry all bag for my a6000 and three lenses when I travel by auto. I'll use a smaller bag if I don't need the macro lens or fly. This bag has pouches for batteries, SD cards, cords and battery charger. Not much else beyond basic cleaning kit.
The only drawback that I see is if you don't buckle the flap the buckle hangs down in an annoying way.

The event Messenger 150 is my 5th camera bag and has several advantages over my sling bag and other shoulder bags.It doesn't tip over , provides easy access to my Sony A 77 with 70-300mm lens mounted or alternatively my A 6000 with the 70-200 mm f4 mounted and 2-3 additional lenses (18-200 mm ,16-70 mm CZ. The bag also has enough pockets/room to grab filters , batteries, lens caps, ipad /phone and even a small table top tripod without the need to fumble when retrieving gear quickly.Very happy with this purchase.

I have a backpack for all of my gear, but I wanted something smaller and easier to carry around. This was perfect! I can fit my D7200, an ultra wide-angle lens, and a flash in this bag without a problem. It has velcro dividers so you can keep items separated.

The only major con is that the strap attached to the clasp doesn't stay in. The strap needs to be a little longer for it to work properly. It's not the end of the world, but I took a star away for this. I also wish the handle was a bit longer, it's not really useful the way it is.

I am based in West Africa, in the Southern fringes of the Sahara Desert. I use this as a field bag when trekking around in the car and on foot taking photos. I have the Canon 7D and there is room for the camera and an extra lens bag inside.

The demands of the W African terrain are intense, dust, sand, and wind, and I wanted a bag that I could open quickly to grab my camera. I keep a lens bag next to the camera so that I can change lenses on the fly.

My favorite feature is the side panels that come up when you open the flap. Very thoughtful.

The sturdy design also makes this bag durable in the harsh conditions of West Africa.

I say that it is simple as there are not the many, many pockets that you see in other bags.

It's a little small, but exactly what I needed. It has plenty of room for my lenses, flash and iPad too if I need it.

Comments about Event Messenger 150 Shoulder Bag (Mica):

I own a Canon 5D Mark III, and was looking for a camera bag that could fit this camera plus some extra lenses and simple gear. One of my pet peeves is having a bag that is bulky or too large for it's purpose, so against some reviews' advice, I purchased this Event Messenger 150 model instead of a larger bag, hoping that the camera would JUST fit with no extra bulk.

This bag DOES fit the 5DM3. It works great, and is not too small. Below is a list of the gear I can fit in this bag:

                                5DM3 (Camera)
Sigma 85mm F/1.4 EX DG HSM (Lens)
Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 AT-X116 Pro DX II (Lens)
                                Kenko Extention Tube Set
Remote Shutter Release (The bulky kind, not infrared)
                                Lens Cleaning Pen
                                Extra SD Card
                                Cell Phone
                                Wallet
                                Writing Pen

After all these items are in the bag, there is still room for a standard paperback novel in the main compartment (barely). You could probably squeeze in a SMALL flash unit or several filters in this space. If you REALLY pack it you can fit an extra short prime (like a 40mm pancake, etc.) I can fit my old Nikon 50mm 1.8 AI if I really squeeze, but it is too tight for me to personally be comfortable with. Alternatively I can take the Kenko Tubes out and carry it easily with room to spare, plus a few extra filters.

Now, both the lenses I have in this bag are fairly bulky 77mm filter thread size. If you carry smaller diameter lenses, you could fit 2 extra lenses without much trouble (camera with 1 lens attached plus 2 extra, plus odds and ends).

Another thing to keep in mind is that the outer side pockets are pretty tight, so if you want to carry a water bottle in one of those pockets, you can't pack the interior tight because the bottle will push on the interior space a little. With the setup I have, I can carry a water bottle and still have comfortable room for extra filters, but no pancake lens or novel. That's just too tight.

The side pockets ARE a convenient place to slide a lens cap during a shoot though.

All in all, I am very happy with this bag as it works great for travel or a simple on-site shoot. Great bag for mobility.

Note: To me, it IS a little bulky and pretty heavy loaded up with the items I listed. This however is not the fault of the bag, but the fault of carrying a 5DM3 and fairly large lenses. No smaller bag would fit the 5DM3 (depth wize). If you tire easily, don't plan to carry this setup all day long.
