Comments about Redrock Micro ultraBase for the Blackmagic Camera:

I use this baseplate with my 15mm rods and BlackMagic Cinema Camera. The plate is set at the appropriate height so that the camera's lens fits into the matte box without any gaps/squeezes in space that may hinder the image if using a shorter and wider lens, so the plate is definitely the right choice especially if your rig is from Redrock Micro. The only issue that I had with this plate was the locks on it. The extensions on the side that can be used to connect the optional overhead rods get in the way when trying to lock and unlock the base plate to the rods. It's not a huge issue, but it gets annoying sometimes. Other than that, it's a quick set up, easy to unmount the camera and go hand held or lock into position for a shoulder mount, tripod, steadicam/glidecam, dolly, etc. It's a great addition to my rig and I would recommend it to anyone that is looking for a solid baseplate for their BlackMagic Cinema Camera.
