Comments about K-30 DSLR Camera with DA 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AL WR Zoom Lens (Black):

I upgraded to this camera from the K-x and it was a major improvement. I have used Nikon DSLRs at work and some Canons, but I have always preferred the Pentax solid build, ergonomy, button layout, and menu system. Image quality is fantastic. The compatibility with all K-mount lenses is a big plus.

Comments about K-30 DSLR Camera with DA 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AL WR Zoom Lens (Black):

I got this at a bargain price from B&H. It is a great camera. Period. What works for me are the dual e-dials. I had the Pentax PZ-1P film camera that had these and in 'Hyper-Program' you could adjust the speed (the camera choosing the aperture) or the aperture (with the camera deciding the speed). In the K-30 this is possible providing an easy arrangement for any exposure of your choice - it fast and easy. Additionally if you have the ISO on Auto it will adjust this too where required. I don't use the Auto setting and prefer to set the ISO to my liking. In the Kr, that it replaced, the e-dial was quirky and not responsive all the time. Thankfully Pentax has attended to this problem and both dials work perfectly. It will also fine focus my old Pentax lenses carried over from the PZ-1P days – have not tried this yet but its good to know that Pentax have thought of this. And the view-finder provides 100% of the image size - rare at this price level. Yes – a great camera and I am thrilled with it.

Comments about K-30 DSLR Camera with DA 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AL WR Zoom Lens (Black):

It takes good pictures but it's up to the person to take good pictures.

The weather rating already payed of because I got caught in the rain once with no way to cover the camera.

I like that image stabilization is in the body. There is no need to turn off autofocus to manually use the focus ring - you can pre-focus.

What I like to about Pentax is that it allows me to use my old lenses from an old Pentax K-1000.

Comments about K-30 DSLR Camera with DA 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AL WR Zoom Lens (Black):

I purchased this Pentax K-30 DSLR to replace my aging Sony DSC-R1 fixed lens camera. I did a lot of research comparing other cameras and concluded the Pentax was a lot of camera for the price. My only concern was the lens performance as my other camera had a superb Zeiss lens and some reviews of the Pentax kit lens were not that impressive. Well, I purchased the 18mm-55mm AL- WR lens and although it is no match to the Zeiss lens, it produces excellent resolution and is superior to other kit lens I have looked at both in quality and performance. I have owned many Pentax cameras over the years including Medium Format and I have nothing but admiration for the way Pentax takes a different path in their approach to what a photog needs. Kudos Pentax.

Comments about K-30 DSLR Camera with DA 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AL WR Zoom Lens (Black):

I own an old K-1000 and a few lenses. I like the camera so far, it's fast and easy to use. It also provides manual control for everything - good for my old lenses.

Not sure why Pentax sells the weatherized K-30 in their kit without the weatherized lens - I opted for the WR lens.

It's a bit big to wear around you neck for quick shots when you're not at the ready to take pictures.

Comments about K-30 Digital Camera with DA 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AL WR Zoom Lens (White):

I've had the K-30 for a little bit now and I've been having a field day with it. Rock solid, feels sturdy. The grip is deep and probably the best I've ever felt. I've had the chance to shoot in a good downpour with the weather-sealed kit lens and it was a blast. That lens is okay, but it's well-known to be a soft lens. It's with my primes that this camera really comes alive. Blown away by how well it handles noise, even in low light situations. I won't drone on, there really isn't too much bad to say about this camera. What you need to know is that this camera makes everything you do fun, and that is an inspiring feeling.
