Comments about Marantz PMD620 MKII Portable Stereo Flash Recorder:

Quick on/off, immediate recording with a single button push, slim outline without protrusions, flat black color make this tiny recorder inconspicuous and easy to deploy. The small size doesn't allow XLR inputs but users are likely to rely on internal mikes. Holds 3 configurations in memory to allow shift from internal mikes to phonejack input, auto vs. manual level control, and various sampling schemes and frequencies. Protected against unintentional file deletion. Runs on 2 AA bats or ext. power. Clearly targeted for ENG/solo reporter/researcher or, with external mikes, hi Q audio interview recording.

Bought this to record bird sounds and play back to attract. Quality is excellent and with a good portable speaker, plays back nicely. Very satisfied.

Using line in with a mini stereo connector cause the speaker not to playback although the recording was fine.Headphone playback was good also. Problem was resolved by using a mini mono connector.

Comments about Marantz PMD620 MKII Portable Stereo Flash Recorder:

This is what public radio professionals use to get that great, world famous sound. It's user friendly and so sharp you don't need another mic hooked up to it, even if you're working for NPR. And it comes with a 4GB disk which surprised me, making it even greater value.

Comments about Marantz PMD620 MKII Portable Stereo Flash Recorder:

As a radio reporter this machine is great, and very simple to use. I really enjoy the ability to drag and drop files when using the USB connection. I like the presets are too, allowing me to set up for a podium situation as well as using an external microphone with just a simple switch of the presets.

All in all it's a great machine!
