Comments about Teradek Bolt Wireless 1080p60 SDI Monitoring Transmitter & Receiver:

We purchased this unit, and later the 2 receiver package in hopes to use it during a live large scale event - keeping in mind the distance range limitations - with room...

The unit works very well in a small space. It would be a great tool for a focus puller on a steadicam rig in a set environment; or for just general video assist during closed set production.

It does not however work for things like live events. The signal drops out if you are in a large room (I am guessing it needs the walls to bounce the WiFi off of); If there are a lot of people in the room, this can cause interference.

The signal - basically degrades - becomes blocky, then you lose audio.

The worst part is when you come back into range - it doesn't re-gain the signal, and for us required a re-boot of the transmitter and/or receiver every time.

It does however provide a great image, with virtually no delay (none that we could notice).

Video Assist during a controlled video shoot, music video, film - this unit can really give you freedom.

Relying on it to provide a consistent quality feed during a live show - even within 100 feet of the receiver (clear line of sight) - is another story.

Lastly, the Transmitter literally feels burning hot to the touch after being on for an hour.

In closing - we tested both a 1 Rx kit and the 2 Rx Kit - same issues with both.

I am making the recommendation that "yes" this is a good unit - for certain applications.

Comments about Teradek Bolt Wireless 1080p60 SDI Monitoring Transmitter & Receiver:

We just started using 2 Bolt systems for a TV series. Worked flawlessly out of the box. Range is solid to @150ft. When we first got the systems, we did an A/B test with the Bolt and hard wire - there was ZERO difference in picture quality. This is a game changer.
