Comments about THE PADCASTER Padcaster & Lencaster Combo for iPad 2nd, 3rd & 4th Gen:

I can already hear what you're saying... "who in their right mind would even think about using an iPad to film?!" Well let me tell you, this was a purchase made after long consideration. Sure, a somewhat established filmmaker will have a real DSLR but all I had was a iPad and the desire. I did over a month of research and going back and forth on bothering with my iPad and decided to go ahead with using it. Pairing this with the iPad turns it into a camera you can easily use to film auditions or webseries. With the right apps you can making filming easier and better. Edit the video right there on the iPad for a quick turn around. Another thing that won me over to the Padcaster as opposed to a few other less expensive options was it's durability and ability to be used with an actual DSLR as a rack. The whole point of my purchases was to future-proof them as much as possible. Now I can film my own or other people's auditions and edit them together with ease. Even when I get to purchasing a DSLR I think I may still use my iPad for simple and quick video content, especially for online.

A Great Idea

Comments about THE PADCASTER Padcaster & Lencaster Combo for iPad 2nd, 3rd & 4th Gen:

I bought this to replace another tripod mount and am delighted with what came in the box. It is well-built and holds the iPad securely. I've even learned to thread the holes in the side for charging and earphones so I'm keeping the iPad in the Padcaster all the time. It is much easier to use on a tripod - making minor adjustments in now a simple process. I would recommend this even to amatuer photographers who like to use their iPad camera for fun and postings on web sites like Facebook.
