Comments about 19mm f/2.8 DN Lens for Sony E-mount Cameras (Black):

Got this lens to use as a medium wide angle for my new Sony A6000 (also from BH).

It is light weight and easy to carry as an extra lens or mounted on the camera. I can also use it on my a7/a7r with the aps C size selected from their menu.

            so far the lens is everything I read about; although it is my first wide angle lens, it is clear and sharp on my Sony a6000; great lens especially for the price;

Use this lens for aerial photos/video. Very crisp and clear. It is a quite a bit heavier and bigger than the sony 16-50.

Comments about 19mm f/2.8 DN Lens for Sony E-mount Cameras (Black):

Great Lens. Sharp. Crisp. Contrasty. Colorful. The three Sigma primes for the E-mount, while not having OIS, are the three best performing lenses I have for my A6000. Only the Zeiss Touit lenses can match them them for sharpness and color. My bar has always been Zeiss. I've owned several Zeiss lenses. These little jewels are up there with the Zeiss primes in terms of quality imaging and they bring out the true capabilities of the 24mp APS-C sensor in the A6000. Better than any of the E-series zooms, of course. Now they just need to develop a low-light OIS version like the Sony 35mm f/1.8 OIS and a competitive normal zoom and they'll own the market. They are that much better. I couldn't believe it. And, paired with high quality Hoya multicoated filters (also made in Japan, like these) they produce wonderfully colorful images a touch on the warm side, which I like. I shoot raw and develop in Lightroom. Very, very pleased.

Comments about 19mm f/2.8 DN Lens for Sony E-mount Cameras (Silver):

This is a great all-purpose lens for the NEX-5 on our quadcopter. We needed a lightweight lens, which narrowed our choices considerably, and the price was right on this one. A bit faster lens would be welcome, but so far that comes at a higher-price (and probably with a different camera in our case)...

                Good bang for the buck.

Comments about 19mm f/2.8 DN Lens for Sony E-mount Cameras (Silver):

Very affordable lens. I wish it were a little longer as on the e mount it shoots wider than I want (wanted 35mm equivalent, this is 28 on the Sony). Optically much clearer than the stock zoom lens Sony specs and performs pretty well at low light.

Bought this lens for a trip to Punta Cana DR. This lens takes amazing photos , it gives consistant color and sharpness. Works extremely well with video. I would buy this lens again. Construction is solid for a lens in this class. I use this primary for indoor photography , tight spaces and especially for video. I also own the 30 mm version, it to is also amazing. Bought this when B&H had it on sale.no regrets.

Great lens for the price. Needed something more than the stock kit lens that came with my Nex 5t. This is a great addition to my set. Only issue is the nice silver finish gets easily scratched up. Otherwise great lens overall.

                        Unbelievably good for the $!!

I have a NEX-7; this lens is light years better at this focal length than the kit zoom. Crystal clear, autofocus is fine, minimal if any chromatic aberration.

Buy one- you won't be disappointed.

Being new to the micro 4/3 platform I'll try not to judge it too harshly. It's respectable as a wide angle lense. Some chromatic abberation but can be corrected in an image editor. I must be honest I did expect a little more. But maybe my expectations were a little too high being that I'm coming from a larger APS C and fullframe sensors. All in all a good bang for your buck

Very good wide angle lens for the Sony NEX system. Nice build quality, silent and fast autofocus. Centers are very sharp. Excellent value for money. An essential lens for all NEX cameras. Sharper than the kit lens by a decent margin.

Great sharpness, color accuracy, and well built lens. I use this lens with my Sony NEX 5R. It is a good wide angle prime lens with a great focal length but with the crop factor, it's actually like 24mm.

Good lens. Better than Sony for NEX.

After reading many reviews I decided to try this and the Sigma 30mm lens for my NEX-7. Until now, I have not found a small, lightweight lens for the NEX that really matches what the NEX-7 sensor is capable of. I had been using a Canon 24mm TSE II with an adapter. That is a sharp lens edge to edge with almost no distortion and no chromatic aberrations at all. I use it for all serious landscape work. But it is big and bulky and no AF so I don't like to use it as a walkaround or travel lens. Using it for comparison, I tested the 19mm both in studio and outdoors in various scenarios. It is almost as sharp in the center as the Canon 24mm TSE II, but softer at the edges. Stopped down to f/8 (which seems to be the sweet spot) helps the edges quite a bit but still not as sharp as the Canon or as the Sigma 30mm. There is some distortion (which didn't bother me) and some color fringing at the edges which isn't really a big deal since it can easily be corrected with software. Like the 30mm, it is a small, lightweight and sharp lens. Build quality seems pretty good considering the size and weight. The shiny metal focus ring really doesn't bother me. It looks good on the NEX. And[*] you also get a case and hood. I am happy with this lens, although the 30mm is the better of the two. However, if I need the wider angle I would not hesitate to use it.

I am pleasantly surprised on the optical performance of this lens. I can now shoot RAW on my NEX-6 which I couldn't do with the Sony 16-50mm kit lens because no lens correction profile is available on Aperture. The distortion on this lens is minimal therefore it doesn't need to be corrected by software. The metal exterior is a nice touch too. Another plus is the battery now last longer on the NEX-6, it must have been the silly power zoom feature on the kit lens that was draining the battery.

This lens seems solid and well built. My images so far are sharp across the field. If I zoom way in in iPhoto I can see some slight fringing along high-contrast lines, such as tree branches against the sky, but you'd only see these in an extreme enlargement or a severe crop. Not an issue for most applications. The optical quality is excellent in my opinion. Great value for money.
