Comments about Nikon D3100 DSLR Camera with NIKKOR 18-55mm and 55-200mm DX Lenses:

Gift for my son. So far we have taken several hundred pictures. Camera has been easy to learn and takes nice sharp pictures. Only downside we have discovered is when in video mode the the noise of the auto focus can be heard in the sound track but the cameras primary role is to take stills.

Comments about Nikon D3100 DSLR Camera with NIKKOR 18-55mm and 55-200mm DX Lenses:

The best thing is this the price for the bang. The outdoor clarity and feature to improve the quality of picture. The ease of getting to know the camera function and its capabilities are friendly to a novice. If your just getting started or even a pro the feature and price excellent. If you want more pixel to blow up poster size photos than spend the extra money. Other wise save your money and buy this one.

Comments about Nikon D3100 DSLR Camera with NIKKOR 18-55mm and 55-200mm DX Lenses:

I actually bought this Camera for my wife. I use a Nikon D7000 , and she is always envious of my photos and cannot compete with her Coolpix P600.
She is not to up to using all the bells and whistles of the D7000 , so after a lot of reading and information gathering we decided on the D3100.
I left my wife to figure the camera out and after she had read the starter booklet and charged the battery she was off and running. She found the booklet and instructions easy to understand and the camera very easy to use.It is a great entry level SLR and after only an hour she was using the camera to it's fullest extent.
There is a little more noise than I expected at the Higher ISO levels , but most of these pix can be used for b&w old fashioned photos or for many art projects in Photoshop.
The auto focus is spot on which helps my wife as her eye sight is a little off.One of the only drawbacks is no auto bracketing of shots which my wife likes to do ,but this is no hard ship as she works off a tripod so it is easy to manual bracket.
All told I think this is a great camera and set up with the 2 lenses for anyone who wants their first digital SLR.

Comments about Nikon D3100 DSLR Camera with NIKKOR 18-55mm and 55-200mm DX Lenses:

The wife was wanting a good camera as she used to do a lot of 35mm photography artwork, and even sold some of her pieces, I talked to a photographer friends of ours and he recommended this site and camera, now the research on the camera spoke volumes, so let me say its an amazing camera and very easy to use, but B&H photography is where its at. I can honestly say I will purchase ALL of my photography needs from them, they package was shipped really fast and was packaged like a pro. The customer service is amazing I have had 1 interaction with them, where I had a few questions. They answered my questions with the knowledge of a clear professional. I was incredibly impressed. Thank you.

This is a very nice and easy to use camera. It takes good quality photos and the additional lens is a must have. For an entry level camera, you wont be disappointed. Once I decided on this camera for my first dslr I started shopping around for the best price. This is it... great price, quality product, excellent service.

I am a photographer and I was looking for an inexpensive option to carry around with me for day-to-day use. This is a great value and for a beginner easy to use. Price point for a new DSLR with two lenses is excellent and with a bit of Lightroom 5 action these pics are almost as good as the ones I take with an expensive camera.

This is a great starter if you're just breaking into the world of DSLR's. It has impressive image quality for a lower end camera. It is a little noisy at high ISO and it also lacks some of the good features, bracketing and external mic output, found on higher end models but it's still a very usable camera.

The shot quality is absolutely phenomenal. There is no need for the VR lenses as long as you have a relatively steady hand, it prevents the photos from losing quality anyways. All in all this camera is light, versatile, relatively cheap, and takes photos that are CRYSTAL clear.

I bought this camera because I felt ready to move up from the point-and-shoot world, and I don't regret it! The price is great, especially with the two lenses. The shutter is a bit loud, but that doesn't matter for what I am using the camera for (ski racing shots, scenery). For the price, this camera is hard to beat. The battery does drain pretty quickly, but when using the camera at 10 degrees F, I am lucky that it lasted as long as it did (about 3 hours, give or take).
