I do architectural photography and an articulating screen is a must. The Canon 70 D is the best camera out there today with this type of screen. Accuracy and speed of focusing has been improved significantly, and make this worthy of an upgrade on its own. I do a considerable amount of pole aerial photography for my architectural work and the ability to control the camera using my iPhone via the Wi-Fi function while the camera is 15 feet off the ground is a big help.

The image quality and resolution was already good with the 60 D and remains excellent. There is a noticeable difference in image quality at high ISO when shooting JPEG, but not so much when shooting in RAW. Shooting at extremes high ISO is something I do on occasion and I get very acceptable results (under exposure always produce more noise than correctly exposed images at a higher ISO). If you need a camera that produces great results at high ISO this camera cannot give you the performance of the D-5 or 6 D.

My only complaint is the way that Canon has rearranged the function buttons on the back of the camera. I was planning to keep my 60 D as a backup camera, but it will be very difficult to keep from pressing the wrong buttons when switching between cameras.

I've gone through two of these cameras now and both have had the same focus problem issues. Using the basic auto mode and looking through the viewfinder yielded un-sharp photos. Apparently, the 19-point auto-focus system was flawed, not focusing on the points indicated in the viewfinder, but on something closer in the frame. For instance, focusing not on the person sitting at a table, but on the edge of the table lower in the frame. The results were fine using live-view mode. The first camera also had a flash problem in basic mode where it would often fail to flash in a low light situation. The flash was fine in the replacement camera, but besides the blurry images in basic mode, it would always choose a high ISO speed, like 1600, insuring that all the images were somewhat grainy. I'm mystified by all the positive reviews of this camera, as it appears there is a systematic focus issue problem. I'm guessing many owners don't even bother with the basic mode setting. I usually don't but my wife does and the camera was for her. The camera has many positive qualities, especially for video. And if you never use the basic mode then you'll probably love it.

I finally made the jump to digital from film and this camera made me wonder why I waited so long. The focus and image quality are top notch. The wide range of control along with the pre-programmed settings gives you all the control you would ever need.

The Wifi on the camera was a great added bonus. I have found I use it all the time.

Comments about Canon EOS 70D DSLR Camera with 18-135mm STM f/3.5-5.6 Lens:

Purchased the 70D as an upgrade to my 50D so I could have HD video with the ability to change lenses and not have to carry the camcorder also. After much research and reviews, I purchased the 70D refurbished, after receiving the camera from B&H you can't tell the difference from a brand new one, not a scratch or mark on it and saved a lot on the price! I also purchased David Busch's book on the 70D and recommend this to anyone purchasing the 70D. Even if you have never used a DSLR before this book will have you using the 70D in no time at all, way better than the manual that comes with the camera, covers everything so that a person using the 70D for the 1st time can understand, all in full color! The STM lens is great and silent. I plan on purchasing the 10-18mm IS STM and 55-250mm IS STM to round out my equipment.

Comments about Canon EOS 70D DSLR Camera with 18-135mm STM f/3.5-5.6 Lens:

The Canon 70D is my second DSLR. I came from a Nikon D3200 and was looking for something with a better autofocus system and more FPS for taking pictures of my kids' hockey games. I got way more than what I was looking for and I am enjoying it 100%. The very first thig I noticed, was how much more intuitive the menus and settings are than the Nikon. I find that with the usw of both the primary and secondary wheels, along with the touch screen, I am able to change my settlings very quickly. Up until now, I have always shot in Auto mode or one of the preset scene modes, but with a little help with YouTube, and the ease of the functionality of the 70D, I am almost to the point where Manual Mode is my goto setting. At first, I thought the articulating touch screen was going to just be a gimmick, but I have found it to be very useful in navigating my way through the settings and in helping me with low or high positioning. Like the touch screen, I thoguht the WiFi feature was going to be nothing more than a gimmick, but it has come in very handy in previewing the shot as I try different settings, and especially with taking long exposure shots. The only thing I wish the phone app has is an interverlometer. I am currently using the following lenses: Canon 70-200mm 2.8L IS II USMCanon 85mm 1.8 USMCanon 18-135 3.5-5.6 IS STM (kit lens)I plan on getting a Conon 24-70 2.8L to replace the kit lens. I have been very pleased with the images that I have been able to produce from this camera. But even more so, I have been incredibly happy with the ease of learning how to become a better photographer with the Canon 70DI would highly recommend this camera who is ready to take the next step from basic DSLR photography.

I'm not used to long reviews so i'll keep this short.1. This is my first DSLR camera, was confused between the full-frame 6D and this crop sensor 70D. I do not regret the decision of buying this camera.2. Swivel LCD screen helps in situations (like getting real low vs just swiveling the screen and take the camera low, saving your clothes).3. Wi-Fi definitely helps, plus instant transfer to your phone/tablet for sharing is just great!4. The 18-135 lens i chose with the body covers the wide and zoom spectrum pretty well. Although this doesn't compensate the longer zooms completely, something that can be compromised.5. Feels comfortable in hand, easy to use controls, top screen and shortcut controls are a huge plus!6. Battery life is also good, i exhausted one full battery life after fully using my 16 GB card 2 times over a huge span of time. Can't think of anymore. I'd definitely recommend this to a friend anyday..

Love the Canon 70D and the 18-35MM kit lens. Upgraded from a Canon T3i. Had the T3i for 2years. Wanted to upgrade for photo shoots and so glad i did. After much research I am so glad I went with the Canon 70D. B&H prices are hard to beat. Great service and shipping. Thank you B&H for all your help. I am one happy customer. You will not regret the Canon 70D purchase. Buy with confidence from B&H.

Great product for advanced beginner hoping to move to intermediate. Easy to use out of the box. Interface is very intuitive. Night shots come out much better than an earlier generation Canon I traded in.

Comments about Canon EOS 70D DSLR Camera with 18-135mm STM f/3.5-5.6 Lens:

I 'upgraded' from a Canon T1i to the 70D. I bought the camera a month before taking a 17 day cruise to the Far East. I took with me the 18-135 lens plus the Canon EF-S 10-22mm hoping to use that lens for when I needed wider shots during excursions on the trip (ex. at the Great Wall). Overall the 18-135 was used for most of my photos. Easier than switching between an 18-55 and 55-250 (lens I bought with the T1i). If you had to bring just one lens for travel/vacation this would be it. The vari-angle lcd screen proved useful at times when there were too many people in front of me and I could hold the camera over my head and get the shot. The continuous frame shooting was extremely useful to insure I manage to get one good shot when one can't take their time in order to get the picture. While I shot mostly in aperture or shutter speed modes, I found setting the camera in "SCN" and selecting "Handheld Night Scene" useful. The 70d will rapidly take several shots to produce a decent photo which at night with insufficient light this proved very useful during the trip. If you are just getting your first DSLR I'd suggest getting one of the canon rebel series (T5i for example) till you've learned enough about the basics of photography and have gone from using the basic shooting modes to shooting in Aperture, Shutter speed and Manual modes. There is a lot of features and capabilities that would not be utilized as beginner and by the time you're ready to use them, newer models with even more features or enhancements would be available. The lens you bought for say a T5i can all be used by the 70d (or future models in that line). I found it fairly easy to switch from the rebel series even though there are more controls and the some of the controls were relocated on the 70d. It was fairly easy to adapt. I love the wifi feature. It allowed me to connect my android smartphone and transfer smaller copy of some of the photos I had taken so I could email them to my friends. The 18-135mm is going to be my primary the lens I use when traveling - vacations. Its more than adequate to cover what I used the 18-55 and 55-250 previously. 99% of the time the 135 is sufficient (being really a 200mm on a full frame camera) so I didn't feel I missed some great shots because my lens didn't cover the 136 to 250mm range. Battery life was great. One "con" is if you are currently using to a compact digital camera or upgrading from a digital rebel, this camera will feel heavier. When I picked up the 70d I immediately noticed the weight but its not really a problem or a 'con' if you are aware of this and you're willing to carry a heavier camera around because it provides capabilities and features that lighter cameras don't. Go to a local store and try holding the camera before buying.

I have purchased 10 of these cameras for my high school photography and film making classes.Generally easy to use, durable, standard Canon menus, lovely images. This product would be drastically improved with these two improvements--headphone jack to monitor sound when recording movies, and the ability to change f-stop in Av mode while shooting movies (you have to change to photo mode, change f-stop , then change back to movie mode IN APERTURE PRIORITY! (WHY!!)Still a quality camera for the money
